Tried this establishment only to be disappointed. Family run, the food was not to my taste and the menu was lacking. Don't know how they stay in business.

Unfortunately, the owner has suffered two setbacks, one of which may discourage those who have never tried La Bella Italia. The first is that the owner crushed his hand in a recently purchased pasta maker. What may affect your experience, however, is that some people don't like Sikhs (or perhaps people who wear turbans and/or have dark skin, I dunno...) and so the owner has been trying to find waitstaff to replace his sons.

Be patient with new waitresses and be rewarded with excellent food!

I highly recommend the tortellini soup, if available. A great appetizer, which some may find odd, is the melon and prosciutto. Dont be put off by this. The salty prosciutto complements the sweet melon. As a main dish, I can recommend with confidence the pesto, alla matriciana, and aglio e olio. The pesto was perfectsubtle, but perfectly balanced. The alla matriciana was full of flavorthe previous reviewers certainly didn't try this dish! Finally, the aglio e olio was just what one expects from a well-made aglio e oliosimple, allowing the great flavor of garlic, olive oil, and a little red pepper to be greatly appreciated. This guy really learned his stuff while cooking in Italy!

La Bella Italia deserves the five stars and I cannot recommend it more enthusiastically. I only hesitate to recommend this to those whose ideal type of Italian food is Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill.

Pros: Excellent food and seldom found variety of authentic Italian food

Cons: Wait-staff is somewhat new

1st time I went, they had just opened. Walked out after waiting at our table for 30 minutes just for water and bread. 2nd time...got seated immediately. (There were only 3 other tables with people.) Waiter forgot our salads. Had to ask for them AFTER the meal. Food was very bland! Won't try for a 3rd time!
