Last Friday I reserved for 6 pm. for my wife's birthday and went there from union city. No body cared for the reservation and top of that got a corner place which spoiled my wife's mood. Not only that the food was not up to the standard

Best Indian Food in our area - and the service is very professional! The food is modestly priced for such high quality.

We were VERY disappointed with the Indian food at this restaurant. Sure the venue is okay, but my husband and I will not go there for the food again. (1) Flavorless & Watery Entrees -- We ordered vegetarian dishes (palak paneer & kofta) and asked that the food be spicy. The food was bland & poorly flavored. The entrees were also watery & running (which is not the way they are supposed to be). Our food was definitely not worth the price. (2) Slow Service -- the food took an extremely long time to arrive and the restaurant was not at all crowded at this time. There are many other better places to go for Indian food in the Bay Area.

Very nice lunch buffet. The salads were really great. There are many choices in both vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees. The naans come to the table. Mostly corporate crowd.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and modern looking, but my seat was near the bus stand and I got an earful of clanging silverware a few times. The service was fine. The food was OK, but not great. We were disappointed by the Mulligatawny soup. Vegetable samosa were good. Garlic naan was good, but the portion was not as generous as other places. The tomato kofta dish was good. I ordered lamb vindaloo "Indian hot", but it came out mild (by my taste). The waiter quickly took it back to the kitchen and then spiciness was just right. The lamb was very good quality and tender, but the sauce wasn't quite what I expected and I didn't like the curry leaves in the sauce (not sure if you're supposed to eat them or pick them out like bay leaves). There wasn't anything really wrong, but maybe it will suit your taste better.

I started going here when it first opened and I take all of my friends here when I'm in town. The lunch buffet is great at 10 bucks a person and you get to try lots of different dishes. My favorite is their butter chicken and they always make sure you have hot naan at the table. The restaurant is clean with simple yet classy decor. No one I know has left here disappointed.

This new little restaurant has the best Indian food I've had. The atmosphere is more formal than other Indian restaurants in the area, and the prices are a bit higher, too. The menu is short, but full of items you might not see elsewhere, including Salmon Tandoori (excellent) and an insane variety of breads. If you like food spicy, be sure to tell the server "spicy". Medium isn't going to be spicy enough here.

Skip the Indian cracker they put on your table to start with. They're like styrofoam. If you're hungry, order an appetizer. Also, let them know if it's your birthday. They'll bring a dessert sampler. It's better than you might expect!

We tried out Mynt on a Saturday evening with a few friends. We had reservations and were promptly seated. I had some expectations from this place, but sadly the food and drinks were very disappointing. I must say, I've tasted better Indian food in the bay area in some other restaurants of the same size and price. I found the chicken xacuti and kebabs to be pretty blend and tasteless and the vegetable jalprezie which they recommended was just 'okay'. The ?lassi? was very sweet.
I haven?t tried their lunch buffet and maybe it is better than dinner, but in conclusion, my experience was average. The food preparation was ordinary. I'll really have to be tempted to go back to this joint again as there are better choices available in the neighborhood.
Their service and interiors of the place was good.

Have eaten at the Mynt several times and have never been disappointed. This is indian food at its best, a different and eclectic mix that teases the palate. I was most impressed by the menu and choices of dishes that was very different from the "usual" indian food. Special mention needs to go to the sea food dishes and vindaloos that stood out and brought out the best of "goan" cusine. Sample the buffet lunch and dinner and be assured of the same high quality and taste. The ambience and decor was simple, yet inviting and the service was excellent......I'll be going back soon.

I've been to many bayarea Indian restaurants but this one was different.

Lunch Buffet--The buffet price is a bit higher than other joints BUT the food selection is also better. This is the only indian restaurant that serves seafood as part of the buffet. In the buffet line up, you find your usual chicken tandoori style stuff but then you also find exotic Kabuli Rice (must try!) and Chicken 65 (spicy!).

I tried the food and loved it. So I hired them for catering to my dad's 75th birthday event for about 30 or so people. The staff was fantastic! Nandini (co-owner/Manager) took it upon herself to coordinate everything around the event (I didn't have to worry about anything), the chef carved up a watermelon to read '75'! (very creative !)

If you're ordering food from the menu---you MUST order the Cochin Prawns! Just make sure you calibrate the spiciness to your taste---I said 'medium' and it was too hot for me (my Indian tastebuds have mellowed out over the years). I recommend mild to medium.

Went there with my husband last week. I was incredibly impressed by food -Tandoori Hors d'oeuvres (a delicious assortment of tender chicken and lamb), Crab Cakes (extremely well prepared crab cakes flavored with ginger and delicate mild Indian spices), Chef Special Sea Bass Tikka (tender, juicy dish that to me is not typically Indian) and Mynt Regal Lamb (flavorful, tender, juicy, prepared perfectly) and for dessert the Sultana Roll (delicous and not too sweet sponge cake stuffed with raisins) and Kesari Pista Kulfi (saffron and pistachio flavored creamy ice cream). Everything was prepared perfectly. The food was not too hot and spicy, well adjusted for the Western palate. I found the combination of flavors and menu options interesting and unique for an Indian restaurant. I was told that many of the dishes are influenced by the Goa flavors which are from a location in India that was once heavily influenced by the Portugese. My husband and I call our favorite dishes mentioned above, the "Goa Special".

I am looking forward to a good selection of after dinner coffee or expresso and some good tea to add to the delicious desserts that The Mynt already offers.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience delicious Indian food in a nice comfortable and friendly dining atmosphere.

Went there a few wks ago, on reading the reviews from the Citysearch. Was NOT dissapointed. Everything was fabulous. The food was not too rich, or oily - everything was delicately balanced. We ordered a lot of food - and everything was fabulous. Our favourites were the Butter Chicken and the Sea Bass. If you like Indian food.... you will love it. If you weren't sure before - try The Mynt - you might be pleasantly surprised. Another interesting thing to note is their Children's menu. While they DO have the standard kid's menu options, there are fun Indian options that kids might be more willing to try. A great way to introduce other food to your kids.

Most of the Indian restaurants in Bay Area offer same menu and same taste.
This Indian restaurant is not like the typical Indian places we have experienced in Bay Area so far.
Not only does the restaurant offer great food, the service is fantastic and the ambience stands out from the rest of the Indian Restaurants.

Went there by chance a couple of days ago ... now I going to go there by design! Great food. When I say indian food like you have never had anywhere else I mean appetizers like "Crab cake" ... just the right spices, complementing the natural sweetness of the crab. Oh and don't miss out on the "tandoori appetizer plate (?)" can't remember the actual name on the menu ... The lamb was tops.
For the main dish I had the lamb ... It was done just right and served on a sizzling platter. My wife had the sea bass. It was done in a style that I have never seen at an indian restaurant before.
They have a good wine selection to go with the food. The atmosphere is excellent. We ended up having a leisurely long dinner. The aromas of the sizzling food when I entered the restaurant tickled my appetite and primed me for a good meal!

Go there, you won't be disappointed!

I have visited Mynt several times for their lunch buffet since it has openend. I have yet to be disappointed with the food. It has always been excellent.

Recently I had an opportunity to visit Mynt for dinner with a large group of friends. All the dishes we tried met the expectations of all our friends. The Crab Cakes, Chef Special Sea Bass, Andhra Fish Curry and Dumpokht Chicken Biryani stood out. Several of my friends tasted the Indian Wine (Sula) and were pleasantly surprised with it.

The service is always friendly. They give you enough attention without beeing too overwhelming. The ambiance is very pleasing and is conducive to a pleasant evening meal. I would highly recommend the restaurant for both its lunch buffet during weekdays and especially dinner.

I have been there twice once with my wife and once by myself and both the times I had an excellent dining experince. The food was excellent and the ambience was great.

If you want romantic ambience, they have it and if you want to go there with kids, they make will sure that you and your kids have an excellent dining experience that will make you to come back again and again.

I have tried Chef Special Sea Bass & Chicken Xacuti and they were awesome. Their desserts (Dissert Platter, Bahushahi & Double Ka Meetha) were mouth watering. I can not wait to go back there once my kids are back from India next week.

We were a large group with noisy kids on a Saturday evening. The staff was very understanding and considerate. The restaurant served very authentic Hyderabadi cuisine. The biriyani and mirch-ka-salan were spot-on! The appetisers were innovative and refreshingly new.

The decor inside the restaurant is very colorful and inviting. There is plenty of space around the tables for those desiring privacy.

We highly recommend this restaurant especially for those with kids who get less than inviting stares at other upscale Indian restaurants. We are definitely going to be frequent diners at this restaurant.

It was my privilege to dine at the Mynt. The appetizers were outstanding and far superior to any I have previously experienced (especially the Lamb Samosa).

For our main course we shared Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Tandoori Chicken (notice a theme?). These were all prepared fresh and left us all wishing for more even when our bellies were full.

Throughout our dining we were continually monitored by pleasant and knowledgeable staff members that made all of us feel welcomed and important. The clean and open atmosphere coupled with the balanced lighting added to the experience without seeming overwhelming or overdone.

Please keep up the great work - this was a true and wonderful surprise!

We all are excited that this restaurant is so close to Saratoga/Campbell/Cupertino/West San Jose area. Lovers of Indian food don't have to drive to Mountain View or Sunnyvale to eat Indian cuisine.

I promise you that you will LOVE their food and ambiance. The quality of food is similar to Amber restaurant but the pricing is not. Each and every client is made to feel special. The head waiter is wonderful in giving you recommendations on what you should order. So, in case you are lost as to what to try, trust him! They have lunch buffets every week day and dinner is ala carte.

You must try their DUMPOKHT BIRYANI, CHEF SPECIAL SEA BASS TIKKA, Baingan Bharta with Indian bread. For dessert, try KESARI PISTA KULFI. I have already been there three times (they opened mid June or so!). Do check it out.
