Brinks Services, Inc. and/or Brinks Investigation-Restoration Services, Inc., lined the plumbing pipes at our apartments in 2007. The lining carries a 10 yr warranty. We then called on them in April 2012 to replace water heaters at same location. They finished job on April 12th late afternoon and turned the water back on. That evening a leak occurred and flooded 7 units. Brinks came out, repaired the hot water pipe that had broken and started the restoration project. Our insurance company was called on to handle problem. Nothing but problems from there on - job took longer than stated, tenants out for 6 weeks, lack of communication as to what was going on, what was needed from us, what was provided by them, at times no supervision (job was left with Spanish speaking workers, no English). Did not receive invoices, statements showing payments, trouble with Brinks communicating with Insurance company and when job was finished, last item being fixed on July 17th, our final bill was not received till August 15th and it showed improper amounts of what had been paid along with leaving out a check for over $6500. Mr. Brink had mentioned giving tenants $175 for all of the inconveniences they went through but changed his mind since we handled the carpet and vinyl and he did not make money off of this area with insurance company. In our last meeting with Mr. Brink, he handed us an invoice for $1400 that he said we owed for a filing of a lien that he had chosen to put on us. We refused to pay. He then stated he would tear the bill up if we wrote a letter stating that we did have troubles with the job but that all had been worked out. After receiving this letter, he would tear up the $1400 bill. We feel this is extortion. We did not pay the $1400 nor write the letter. We also received a call from one of the subcontractors last week, Sept. 12th, that he had not been paid in full as of that date. We do not recommend this company.
