Delivery took 75 minutes instead of 30 minutes they told me on the phone at the time of ordering. Not much of value for your money small portions. Food quality and the taste was ok. I think we should always look at date of reviews there

Pros: best in town

.

The service is excellent, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food is something you will crave until you have it again. My kids have been eating at this restaurant and taking food to go when we couldn't get out since they were old enough to eat! I'd recommend anything, but the Chicken Tikka and the Matar Paneer (hope I spelled that right) are the best. The food is always fresh.

indian food has always fascinated , probably because it has such unique flavors not found in other international cuisines. and whenever i go to anarbagh indian restaurant ,it seems that the staff always takes great pride in waiting on customers and serving the meal .at anarbagh ,owner is now in his sixteen year at this location and his head chef has some 20 years experience .eating here, i felt like i was attending a feast, with wonderful food prepared to to the highest standards.the restaurant has apleasant atmosphere and the "A" sign from the health department assures you oftheir dedication to high quality food preparation.anarbagh has selection available with chicken ,lamb,or seafood.try chicken makhani, tikka masala, and they have TAKE OUT, FREE DELIVERY,WILL CATER ASPECIAL EVENT,AND OFFER LOW CHOLESTEROL AND OIL- FREE COOKING BY REQUEST.

We had lunch at Anarbagh and it was, by far, the best Indian food. In addition, the service was truly excellent. Really top notch! We are vegans and so our waiter helped us make selections from the menu and also made substitutions where appropriate. The restaurant is very cozy and the atmosphere was buzzing with other customers enjoying their lunch as well. Definitely worth the visit!

I was there for dinner with a friend. The service was very attentive, with the manager (owner?) coming over to check on us during our meal. Food was very well prepared, with the spices just right, Tandorry chicken was very tender. The spices/sauce and other dishes were near perfect. Overall a very pleasant dining experience. Would make a great spot to bring a date too.

Pros: Very tasty

Cons: Go there and try some food

I??ve never been to a restaurant before where the service & food has been so bad! The after effects was horrible !!!
It took over an hour for our starter of ??re-heated soup?? from several days before I expect to arrive, followed by a main course, which arrived about 2 mins after the soup, no drinks ever arrived, a moldy taste about the main course.

My advice: there are plenty of indian restaurant in town, which could serve up better grub!

Had lunch on a Tuesday.

Well cooked Tandoori Chicken, juicy and flavorful.

Lamb Vindaloo was ok, but lacking some kick, since we did order spicy.

The onion bhaje appetizer was flat and I doubt that it came fresh out of the hot oil.

Mater Paneer was very middle of the road.
This is a perfectly reasonable version of an Indian Restaurant with attentive service on a lazy Tuesday afternoon, but I am sure that you can find a better take on Indian Cuisine, especially at this price.

I have been coming to Anarbagh for 8 years and I've never been let down by either the food or the warmth given all the customers. This restaurant is truly my home away from home.

If you love Indian food like me and my family you will enjoy Anarbagh. The ambience is relaxed. Definitely not a upscale type of place but perfect for a random thursday dinner. Treat yourself don't cheat yourself.

Pros: Best Indian Food In California

.

Hands down, the best Indian food in Los Angeles. Solid service - these folks have longevity and are committed to what they do. The same goes for the chef.

Also, in true LA fashion, you can order your curries without ghee, low sodium, etc....and it doesn't seem to take away from the taste.

Best Service and great indian food in town

I'm upping this place one star cuz they finally gave me a hard on and Indian food that gives you a hard on is worthy of 5 stars.

I came here on a Saturday, 12:45 PM, by myself. There's another couple eating lunch but it's just me and them. I started with a 22 oz Himalayan Blue Beer to whet my appetite. I then ordered the Onion Bhaji, the Chicken Tikka Masala, and a Garlic & Onion Naan. . The chicken was so good and the sauce...oh the sauce... I got a weird stare from the manager when I was licking the plate but oh so worth it... To add to the ambiance, some bollywood music was playing and two chefs were arguing very loudly in the kitchen. They were clearly screaming obscenities at each other in Indian... very authentic. In any case, the Onion Bhaji this time around totally rocked and Anarbagh most definitely deserves 5 stars!

I and my colleagues have been travelling from New York and Chicago to LA every week for the past few months. We make it a point to grab atleast one dinner meal at Anarbagh.

The food here is delicious and growing up in New Delhi, I know what I am talking about. The great part is the hospitality offered by Zaheer and his colleagues who make us feel at home everytime we visit. We have often taken guests with us and everyone has been extremely pleased with their experience at Anarbagh. Being on the road most of the team all the members in our team have tried Indian food in US/UK/Canada/India and find Anarbagh comparable to authentic Indian food.

highly recommended----You will surpised on how the staff accomodate your requests to order food and make adjustments to the menu offerings.

This really was the worst service that I have experienced in years. I decided to try this place out for Friday night dinner. They took our name down for a table, then they randomly picked groups to sit. They did not check their list. Everyone around became disgruntled as people who even had reservations were not seated in a timely manner. We waited over 40 minutes to be seated when we had been told 20 minutes. We thought we had experienced the worst of it but the bad service had just started. We were quickly asked what drinks we wanted, but sadly they never came. We had to ask for them when they still hadn't arrived 20 minutes later. No one seemed assigned to our table. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to take our order. The appetizers came within a respectable time. They were good, not great. But then the waiting began, we waited for an hour for our dinner to arrive. People around us were complaining, a couple even walked out before their food was served. The atmosphere was chaotic and no one seemed to know what their job was. It might have been worth it if they food was tasty. When it finally arrived it was a great disappointment. The chicken tikka masala was much too sweet, the Indian spices were completely missing. We had requested our food to be spicy but it was as bland as could be. The saag paneer was much too creamy, the cheese overcooked, it lacked spinach and once again a bland disappointment that did not resemble any sag paneer I've experienced at other much better Indian establishments. Mysteriously, we were offered one small "complementary" baklava, even though our dinner included desert. Over 2 1/2 hours later we had to ask for the bill three times before mercifully being allowed to leave. I would not return to this place nor would I recommend it to anybody.

We've tried 'em all from the westside to the valley. We've had great Indian throughout the UK. This place was terrific this past Monday night. Perfect preparation, well-spiced and very tasty. The wait staff fawned over us and the food came quickly. Better than Shalimar and Taste of India.

I just ate here last night for the first time, and I'm a fan. I ordered chicken tikka masala or something like nan . lamb curry. It was delicious and it was the perfect portion as i don't like to waste food or styrafoam. My sister had the chana masala and she loved every bite. Indian iced tea, which is brewed with ginger and spices, is very good and it has a very interesting taste. The garlic naan and veggie samosas were very good too.

Also, the people were really friendly.

Great food with loads of good spices.

I'm not going back to this place due to the rude prick that overcharged me and then got mad at me for informing him that I was overcharged. He was trying to ignore me at first until he realized I was not leaving until it was settled. He slammed things down on the counter while trying to adjust the bill and the whole nice yards. Ridiculous.

I know a lot of people have had great experiences here, including some of my friends but, not me.

My wife an I used to frequent Anarbagh regularly and truly enjoyed our little, almost weekly, trips to India. We have recommended Anarbagh to dozens of families and they all became regulars.

I am compelled to write this review because of the way my wife and I have been treated.

Since the birth of our child we haven't eaten out as much as we used to. Because it is hard to eat out with a baby and we wanted to try cooking at home to help save some money and create a nice home life for our child. On my wifes birthday we visited Anarbagh for a special night out, we even brought our baby with us. The very first thing that was said to us was "we don't see you anymore" so we explained, pointing out our lovely new child. We expected a giggle and that would be that but the answer apparently wasn't the right one. He repeated the question and so did all the people that waited on us. We felt uneasy and after the meal left with a foul taste in our mouths.

We have visited again on occassion with friends and have received very cold and uncomfortable confrontations. We have gathered that one of the employees saw us at another Indian restaurant and apparently this is a punishable offence. They confronted us blatently with venom and made our company feel uncomfortable also.

We are very hurt by this behavior and think that the United States is no place for this jealous behavior.

We will never eat there again.

The food is fine. It is nothing special or fancy and is bland tasting. If you want real Indian food in Woodland Hills go to India Sweets & Spices or for excellent Sri Lankan food go to The Curry Bowl. I have nothing to do with these restaurants other than I like their food.

We had been to Anarbagh restaurant for dinner. I found food quality was not upto the mark. the bhindi was not even completely boiled and dal was no where near the mark. The service was slow. Even when there were not many customers, it took good 30 mins to get items. We had to ask for the items listed in standard dinner menu instead of they were offered automatically. Funny part was at 8.30 PM they said no more chappati's because they ran out of atta. Only nan was available. It was embarrasing. They missed out the desert/coffee/tea at the end. By and large it was a bad experience

I will admit I have had to wait on weekends, but this is not unusual for a good restaurant that does not take reservations, first come first serve. They do not have a host, some thing they might consider on weekends. I recommend eat early on weekends, or better yet eat during the week nights. Their food is the best indian food in the west valley. I highly recommend with a thumbs up from this foodie!

Cons: Long wait and no host on weekends.

I'm a local who goes to eat here all the time, but I never go on the busiest times (friday/sat night) so I don't know how their service is during those times. Usually go when business is slow so I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. And when I do go their service is good, they are friendly and try to please. I sent my friend there once with her boyfriend and she loved it, thought service was great. Parking can be difficult, they have street parking and a tiny lot around the back. Recently remodeled inside. Portions are not huge but fine for couples or small groups. Never have been disappointed with their food, one of the best Indian places in the Valley.

I've been here twice and it was some of the worst service I have ever received. They were nice enough, but the waiting was just outrageous. All in all it took over three hours for us to have lunch and we are not slow eaters!! The second time there was with a larger party of eight. It was almost 45 minutes before someone even came over to take a drink order! I have been in the restaurant business for over a decade and that is just ridiculous. They were fairly busy, but at some point the manager should come over. I mean seriously! We waited so long for the check I finally had to get up and ask for it and it was another 20 minutes before they produced it! This kind of ineptitude or lack or care seems improbable to me, but we experienced it. That being said, the food was really good. Better than Shalimar, but not better than Delhi Palace. If you are in the mood for good indian food while not in any kind of a hurry and willing to wait...and wait....and wait.....this just might be the place for you.

Cons: Very, very, very bad service.

We stood outside for 15 mins before we got our table, and they were not even acknolwdge us. It was such a bad service. If anything, the food made it better, but they had no courtsey for the people who were waiting to get a table.

Having lived in the UK for several years they have, if nothing else, great indian reataurant.
Finding a good one here was becoming tiresome. Alas low and behold Anarbagh!

We have NO good Indian Restaurants in our area (Ventura County, CA) so we drove the 30 minutes into the San Fernando Valley. We enjoyed the dinner combination for two people and thought $36 wasn't too bad, considering how expensive Indian food can be, and how much foox we received! The appetizers were very good, and we found all our entrees delicious. The service was very good, considering how busy they were. We are SO happy to find a great Indian restaurant only a 1/2 hour away..... we'll be back again and again!

I have eaten at Anarbagh over twenty different times and found their food always high quality and delicious. I lived in New York for several years and ate Indian food in all sorts of restaurants, from local dives that cabbies went to to the haute cuisine Indian inspired restaurants. There were a couple of restaurants better than Anarbagh. When I moved to Los Angeles I went to fifteen different restaurants, bitterly disappointed, until a client recommended Anarbagh. I only wish they had a buffet.

All the curries tasted similar & if there's anything I know its that North Indian food is diverse.
Servings were small and the price was ok.
The service was quite good, though - friendly & helpful.
The restaurant was a tad too dark giving it a shady look. And whats with the weird paintings.

This Indian restaurant has a huge menu, and it turns out consistently good tandoori specialties. To start, try the puffy samosas, deep-fried onion balls---which any onion-ring fancier will love---or a cup of hearty mulligatawny soup.…
