Your valuable time & money will be better spent not at the Alameda Rynck, as long a Manager Malcom is permitted to mislead and bully customers.

Issue: Two-wheel thrust alignment ($59.95) v. four-wheel computerized alignment (89.95).

His sales technique consisted of initially remaining out of sight, instructing his sales person/tech to process my order for a two-wheel alignment in a way that I would incur a greater cost. When I questioned the greater cost, I was told by the tech that the posted amount was wrong ---get that! wouldn't the Bureau of Automotive Repair be interested in that little fact! As the tech couldn't explain why the posted amt was inaccurate (at this point, I doubted the posted amt was actually incorrect--rather the tech was instructed to "use" a greater amount), Manager Malcom appeared with lots of negative, abrupt attitude.

Manager's Malcom's message to me was that I NOW had no choice in the type of alngmt Rynck would perform on my car. The two-wheel alngmt which he had initially approved somehow vanished. According to Manager Malcom, I must NOW choose the more expensive alngmt because that's what the computer says, despite my having purchased the two-wheel alngmt from Rynck in the past. After my request, he printed my vehicle's repair history & we both saw that Rynck had performed the CHEAPER two-wheel alngmt. I gave him several opportunities to explain the apparent shift in policy. He failed to explain, insincerely "apologizing" for Rynck's performing the two-wheel alngmt in the past and again insisting that my only option was to purchase the more expensive (& in my view, unnecessary) alngmt.

When he realized that I was not acquiescing, Manager Malcom's attitude really declined toward me-nastiness crept into his words. I told him that I did not appreciate his attitude. As I turned to leave Mean-Spirited Manager Michael said, "Have a nice holiday."

PS I did not need an alngmt after switching front tires

I've been screwed over on rynck tire and auto center in pleasanton 3 times the first time i had a check engine light on. took them a week and a half to "fix" it. they messed it up more. the tail lights wouldnt go off no matter what you did and the ignigtion "had an unidenifyed problem" They also put breaks on it rotors and pads. if your foot brushed up agianst the pedal it would result in a sudden tire lock up. full on skid. We had the check engine light fixed somewhere else. brought it back so that they could do the breaks and an anlignment on it. the breaks worked but they conviently forgot to do the alignment..... so we brought it back a third time evrything appeared to be right. till today we had a nail in the back right tire...... the mechanic over there said look your front tire is about to come off! he pushed on the tire and it wobbled back and forth.... 3 studs striped... not on the lug nut part but in the actull hub... the owener of the tire shop comes out to take a look himself and said "that could have seriously injured you" brought truck back today... they have messed up 3 out of 3 times know this will be 4 times and we shall be inspecting and will do our best to find any mistakes. dont recomend them. had a friend who had a dodge truck they went to lower it and forgot to bolt up the upper a arm. broke the hanger.. ruind the truck. dont recomend theis people they hire "mo" canics. if you want your stuff done right dont go here! save your vehicles and most inportantly protect your life.

Cons: poor quality

For me this is my only place to go now. I first met them when buying new high end tires for my Carrera. Normally these tires have a week backorder and would cost $1200 to $1400 for all four. I got them from Rynck two days after ordering and for just under $1000 with tax. Also my car from the dealership costs me $500 for an oil change. With Rynck they only charge me $40 for the service plus cost of the oil. I am even allowed to buy the oil myself and just have them do the service. Most shops do not give the customer this great of service and this level of freedom in materials choice.

Another cool thing they are doing is a faith order for me. I ordered about $2000 worth of suspension work parts for them to install on my car. They ordered this ahead of my appointment so my car is only in the shop for a day a tthe most. Most shops do not do so unless the car is there and they know they are guaranteed the work. To me this level of service is deserving of the 10. Most would justifiably warrant this service a 9 at most but service this good is hard to find.

Pros: Convenient location, near food services, friendly reps

Cons: high end parts not always in store. This is to be expected but fits in the cons.

I called inquiring about tires and I have to say that I was not pleased with their run-around service.
I spoke to 3 or 4 different people and was given a different story everytime.
