Southern California Moving & Storage in Temecula, California told us our household items/furniture would be delivered on or within a few days of August 5, 2008 in Reston, Virginia. Stuff was not picked up when promised. It finally got to Reston on September 8th over a month AFTER it was promised.
Carrie, the office girl, speaks in a demeaning manner always, has no interest in your things, their promises, or YOU as a customer. Carrie does not return phone calls. We know. We tried calling countless times. Al, the owner, does not return phone calls either. We know. We tried leaving messages several times. The driver of the truck, Robert, never answered his phone, so we left voicemails. He never returned even one of our calls.
When our stuff was being unloaded there were four boxes unloaded. I packed all of our stuff in plastic bins. The boxes all had a lady in Florida's name on them. 3 had her things in them. 1 had our lampshades in them! Obviously, one of HER boxes was minus her things and had OUR lamp shades in it. Where did HER things in that one box go? If I hadn't told them, those 3 boxes weren't ours, they would have left some poor lady's things with us!!
THESE PEOPLE WOULD NOT UNLOAD OUR STUFF UNLESS WE PAID FIRST! Some of our things were missing, so now we don't know if we will ever see them again. Now, WE have to file a claim, and judging from the terrible way they've treated us and our belongings, we aren't certain anything will be done about it. They also threatened to keep a sofa, table, and dresser, if we didn't sign a paper which was like having a signature for a credit card because I paid by credit card over the phone. They said because I paid over the phone I must sign this paper because I might tell the credit card company I didn't sign for it!!!
We would never recommend this company to anyone. You won't find responsibility, responsivness, or integrity here.

We used Southern California Moving & Storage to move and store our furniture and belongings for 5 weeks in July-August of 2006. They assured us that they would shrink-wrap our cloth furniture and bedding materials, as well as store everything safely in their new warehouse. However, they didn't shrink-wrap anything and they left the crate that our belongings were stored in, sit unprotected in the parking lot at their facility. There was a huge thunderstorm that arrived in the Temecula area within two-three days of them "storing our items and everything got wet, soaked. They sat that way for the 5 weeks, then they brought our wet and moldy ( visible and professionally tested) belongings and introduced them to our new home.
At this point Southern California Moving & Storage chose to ignore us, hoping that we would go away. They did take the soiled furniture and said they would attempt to clean it, however, fabrics with mold that has been present for more than 24-48 hours is virtually impossible to guarantee total removal of the mold. Therefore, we told them that they could keep it, because it would not be safe to bring it back into our home.
Because they weren't willing to take responsibilty for what they had done, we were forced to get an attorney. We are still in litigation with this company and it's insurance company, almost two years later. They left us with no beds, no sofas, no chairs and clothes and etc. that we were not able to use, in a new house that we had put all of our liquid assets into and have never ever offered any type of assistance or accepted any type of esponsibility. So, my recommendation would be not to use this company, period!
