This company is unethical, rude, threating, and purposely drags their feet to contact you so they can charge 3 times the check amount. Robin is the worst person in the world, hateful, B____.
I hope she sleeps well and burns in Hell for the way she treats people.

To all you comments on Universal Recovery , You can file a small claim in Court in your on City or County.
When I called them today, they answered the phone with what
Then when I told them either they remove the account off my credit or I would take them to Court A woman name Robin probably a aka
told me that it sounded like I was bulling them
I thought that was funny. I told her to send me a copy of what she had they send me the back of the page not front.
This company buys old accounts They are not the owners of them.
If you have a check with them there is law under each state on Collection is usually three years. On the merchant who is the owner
The problem with this Company is no manners, does not know Consumer Protection Laws
So hey guys Serve the owner his name is under the Secretary Of State of CALIFORNIA.
make him come to court if he does not show up. If you win by default then you can place a Lien on Evert. He has.
The way you fined that out is through court records online. There free
Just look in the counties surrounding the business.
This woman Robin was so funny. Robin get a life you have told so many stories your nose is growing longer.
Give them five days to remove or sue them it does not cost that much to file and have them served. Do not need an Attorney in small claims court. Put these bullies out of business
To everyone talk up for your credit and quit letting bullies like this mess your credit up
Oh last but not least, Unless they gave you a thirty day notice they can't place it on your credit .So asked them to prove your letter and the debt. New under Consumer Protection Laws. Under Federal Trade Commission.

I am an employer and today I received a call from Universal Recovery Corp. The lady calling began the call rude and it only got worse. She wouldn't give me any information as to why she wanted the number to my corporate office. If she would have done any reseach (google search etc.) she could have easily obtained what she was looking for. Upon giving her our corporate phone she called me a b#tch and hung up on me. I then called her office back to complain to a supervisor and she wasn't any better. She even asked me if I had a recording of our conversation. I explained to her that you can't record a conversation without consent and that I normally have no reason to record my calls. Very unprofessional company. Just think how they would have treated me if I was the actual target of their call. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Universal Recovery Corporation is unlawful in the way they treat people on the phone; rude and harassing. They use tactics which stoop to the lowest level I have ever imagined. They go way beyond being rude.

I spoke to my District Attorney's office about their practices and am in the process of filing a complaint against them. They way they conduct business is SO wrong.

Lisa Mitchell and Universal Recovery Corp...Shame on you!

If anyone else out there has had experiences with this company that violate your rights as a consumer and your right to be treated professionally, I urge you to contact the Better Business Bureau, your local District Attorney, Yelp!, and any other sources you can think of.

This company is absolutely appalling.

I had an average experience with this company. My first reaction was to hang up the phone or to verbally abuse the caller. But after pausing for a brief moment I realized their involvement was only due to my lack of responsibility. My financial problems are of my own making. This company has to deal with people like myself who are extremely selfish and self-centered and incapable of being a productive member of anything. Thank you universal helping me to be accountable.

Thanks,

Loser

For all of you who have been contacted by this company review your rights! If you go to the State of California Attorney Generals website www.ag.ca.gov and do a search for Consumers collection agencies. You will find the laws regarding what the collection agencies can and cannot do. If your rights have been violated you can contact the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov and click on consumer protection and then click on file a complaint. Good luck!

Who regulates these guys? What are the remedies for a collector pursuing a false claim? They call, send threatening letters, but don't botter to check if they :

a) got the right person;
b) does their client have the right person;
c) if they got their facts right;
d) and if they're client even has a legitimate claim.

Can these guys be sued for hounding and victimizing people over a debt that doesn't beling to the victim?
