When I originally received my unit the firmware was out of date so I went to Magellan's support site and downloaded the latest firmware update. The update failed and corrupted my unit. I called Tech Support, which is outsourced to India, and they told me to NOT apply the firm ware update. After they realized that was no longer an option they gave me an RMA number and I returned the unit. Luckily I returned it with deilvery confirmation. As of today, Magellan has had my unit in their shop for 4 weeks, 3 days. Technical Support can't find a status and have no idea when it will ship out. I have attempted to contact someone in the corporate office with absolutely no luck.

The latest delima is that Magellan has agreed to send me out a brand new unit to replace my original RMA unit that they can't seem to find. The supervisor I talked with 1 week ago said that it would be shipped out 2-day shipping. Little did I know that there was no target date for it to leave the factory. They have confirmed that when (if) it ever leaves the factory it will go out as a 2-day shipment. Support keeps telling me "Don't worry, you will get it this week"....after hearing that for almost 5 weeks now I have no confidence!

As far as the product goes....I have no idea because I haven't been able to use it yet.

The technical customer service is not honest. For two months, I have been given an RA # 1311793 for a new model GPS and have still not received the new model. Our original Magellan Roadmate 300 broke a few days before warranty was up. They send us a new model. Then it broke a few months later, and now we were told mail it to us and we will send you a new model. We complied and they have not sent us a new model. We have had may talks with a Sarah and Sylvester in India. Both who have said they were mailed out on Friday, the supervisor would call us back in 1 hour. Now I have left two messages with Katy Motiey and she has not returned my calls. Having spent over $300 for this product and to be treated so unimportant is unacceptable. Never buy this product from anyone. Shame on you Radio Shack!

The technical customer service is not honest. For two months, I have been given an RA # 1311793 for a new model GPS and have still not received the new model. Our original Magellan Roadmate 300 broke a few days before warranty was up. They send us a new model. Then it broke a few months later, and now we were told mail it to us and we will send you a new model. We complied and they have not sent us a new model.
