My son broke his tooth. He need a root canal and a crown. It was going to take three weeks to get approval from my insurance to do the work so, they said I could put half the money down and when the insurance approved it they would reinburse my. The first time I called they would send it to me within six weeks. I called back again months later and they said they dont return it for three months. That is their policy. They are the biggest rip off and I will never go back.

As a former employee I'd like to defend Dr. Katnik's office. Being on the other side of the desk I'm not a bit surprised about some of these reviews. Let me address some of your complaints....

1. If you miss your appointment, yes you'll be charged a broken appointment fee. These charges are set forth from your insurance co. and the dr is allowed to collect if you miss your appointment. Imagine you and your family of 4 has an appointment and you've missed it. The hygienist or dr now have the half hour or so that is wasted because you didn't write on your calendar. Some dr's offices do make courtesy calls the day before but thats what is is.. a COURTESY not mandatory. Be responsible for your own appointment. If you are nice and it's your first broken appointment ask if it can be waived.. it never hurts to ask.

2. If you have an HMO dental plan, every month the office recieves a roster with the subscriber and their dependents listed. If for what ever reason your name doesn't appear on the roster they will ask you to call either your employer or dental plan to see what has happened. It's not their responsibility to know what plan you have or it it's changed. I've seen employers change plans and not inform the employees until they are called to the front desk and told so. If you don't have or want to use your cell phone use the pay phone in the office. Yes I said the pay phone. Don't ask to use a businesses phone to conduct your personal business. How are they suppose to answer a ringing phone when your using it? Are you going to ask your dental co to ' Please hold" to put the incoming call on hold? I think not.

3. I've heard a million times it's called a "Dental Factory". Yes it's a large office that sees a lot of patients but if you have an appointment for a cleaning, x-rays and exam you can usually get out in an hour and a half. You'll be called for a dental cleaning, then x-rays then see the dr. If you go to your medical dr and they want x-rays or lab work do those services come to you? No, you go to them and wait each time... same thing here. Everyone has a specific job and does it as efficiently as possible. No one intentiionally wants to make you wait.

4. Speaking of waiting.... yes sometimes the dentist can run behind and they're several reasons for it. There may have been an emergency patient that needed to be worked into the schedule and we've never turned anyone away in pain. Maybe one day you'll have a toothache be the one making the schedule run behind. It's not Jiffy Lube... we don't give you 5 min to numb up and if not start anyway. There might be a complication and for as much as the dr has tried you might have to be referred to a specialist. Maybe you're called "patients" for a reason because you need to have patience.

5. Dr. Katnik is a man of few words and is always on the move but he's quick and to the point. If you don't care for his style the nice thing about being with a multi dr practice is you can change dr's without changing offices.

In closing there are things good and bad about every business and we all have choices so if you don't like a large practice you might be more comfortable in a smaller office but keep in mind when you book a cleaning appointment and miss it you might have to wait 3 months to get another one!!!!

I went to Dr. Olson since he was good once. I simply asked him nicely to change his gloves as i saw him touching countless items, in addition to arriving with them already on his hand. After debate, he finally changed them and added "oh, i tricked you, since i got them from the trash". This was not what I expcted from my dental office.

The WORST experiance I have ever had at a dentist office! I was told I needed a root canal and two crowns. That was 2 years ago and I am still experiancing occational pain. The dentist that did the root canal was completely inept. And the crowns didn't fit right, but he glued them on anyway. When I complained, he grinded down the crown. The roughness caused me to get sores on my tongue. I went to another dentist and got some relief, but my insurance wont pay to fix the root canals. I am only giving one star, because you can not give negitive stars.

I have seen many dentists & the service that this office provides is wonderful. All of the dental assistants are a pleasure to be around and the office has a real inviting feel. I always recommended this office to family and friends.

Although I routinely get my teeth cleaned here, and they do a good job, I would not trust them with anything more. Their staff is often rough with their instruments, and their office is a madhouse with people running this way and that.

I came seeking a second opinion after a run in with a suspicious dentist who told me I had 2 cavities and needed a deep cleaning....and I would need to pay out of pocket to cover the cost above and beyond what my insurance covered...

Dr. Katnik looked at my xrays and told me I had NO caveties and I only needed a routine cleaning. His honesty saved me from paying $800+ out of pocket.

Dr Katnik has a large practice. It always seems busy, but it is easy to get an appointment there. I broke a tooth and got an appointment for the next day.

The most noticeable feature of the office decor is the presence of big aquariums everywhere with some of the largest tropical fish I have ever seen! Behind the check in desk is a Gourami that is at least a foot and a half long. There is a 3 foot Arawana in another tank. Everywhere you go there are fish tanks. There are small TVs in every examination cubicle, so you can keep up with the news or whatever while your teeth are being fixed.

Dr Katnik and his dental staff are very good and very pleasant. I was there a couple of months ago and found out that my insurance had been canceled by my company because I was on disability. In spite of that, Dr Katnik gave me a full set of X-rays for absolutely no charge! They discuss everything you need done, and help you work out the proper order and priorities. Unlike some dentists who try to sell you a lot of unnecessary services, Dr Katnik's staff tries to help you make the right decisions about what needs to be done, and will help you with the financial part of the decision also.

I am very happy with this dental office.

You can get appointments right away here, usually the next day. Office Staff is friendly and professional. Aquariums all over office. Consultation doctor's are not the best, it's a quick in and out type of deal. However, the treatment Dr. ( I had Dr. Olson) was amazing. He was kind, compassionate, really listened to me and explained in detail what he was going to do. I highly recommend him.
With all dental office though, make sure you know your dental plan. Dentists office tend to over charge on copayments when they can, this has been my experience at all offices. Including this one.
When I pointed out a co-payment overcharge to the insurance lady at this office, she then put down the corrected price, but acted like she was giving me a special deal.
