Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium Imax

While people who have never seen a movie in a REAL IMAX theater may be impressed with this one, it is pathetic. I have been to several (Ontario, Universal City) and was excited when they added an "IMAX" to this theater... UNTIL I saw Spiderman 3 there. All they did was put a larger screen where the original screen used to be. This screen is nowhere near as large as a real IMAX screen, and the seating arrangement is for a standard movie, so the front row is waaaay too close! We ended up with neck aches and missed a lot of the action- you just could NOT see it clearly from that close up. This is a nice theater in general, but the extra to see the "IMAX" is NOT worth it! Buy it on Blu Ray when it comes out and sit close to your TV instead! (Or drive to the nearest REAL IMAX in Ontario!)

This imax theater is high end picture and sound quality. The one imax theater is paired with other theaters but they are not imax. That said, it can be tough to get a ticket to this theater when there is a new release.

With an entertainment complex like this why leave Mira Mesa? All the latest releases play here. There are also places to eat and shop since it is located in a mall. If you don't live here the location is convenient to the freeway.

I don't get out to many movies these days; so I might be a little behind in the times. But, I was really impressed with this huge movie theater. Parking can be a bit awful so make sure you get there early. And, I've noticed that even if a movie has been out for a while, it doesn't mean there won't be a line for it; so again, get there early. I thought the prices were a little high, but the movie quality was worth it!

I went to see Dark Knight in IMAX here and it was great! I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never seen a movie in IMAX before but I wasn't disappointed. I was glad that we arrived early because there was already a line and the movie had already been out for over 3 weeks! It's a great theater and expensive, but worth it!
