I've only been to Aura twice and I had a great time both times I went. Granted it is far if you are coming from San Jose but it's nice to get out of San Jose and visit a different club. It is randomly located at a strip mall but once you get inside, it's fun and the music is great. The drinks are standard, the price is standard; just like at any other club. They try to make is upscale with the red draping inside and you get the feeling that they're trying to give you the feeling of being at a club in San Francisco. Unless you live in Pleasanton, or you are traveling there, I would recommend this club. I would not however, go out my way to come here because it is far and if you're going to drive that far, you might as well as go to the city.

If you find yourself in tri-valley on any night, then head out to Aura. It is restaurant by day and a nightclub by night. The place is well decorated, staff is friendly and the location is great no matter where you are. With two dance floors spinning different music you can pick and choose. Want to have some fun? Head to Aura.

I have been here 3 times and had a great time every time! The music is great! They usually have a different DJ on each dance floor, so if aren't enjoying one type of music, heard to the other dance floor! The people there are typically attractive people. The go-go dancers here are always an eye pleaser. Cover can be $15-$20 bucks, but sign up for their newsletter at their website and/or add them as a friend on MySpace and you'll get opportunities to sign up for their guest list for free or discounted cover.

Oh, and yes it is in a strip mall. But it doesn't seem like it inside; it is very spacious. And the upside is that parking is easy, and free!

This place is a bridge and tunnel caricature. It is amazing how much clubs change once you get 45 minutes outside of San Francisco. This is the same type of cookie cutter club you might find in Oklahoma. First of all, no joke, this place is in a strip mall - with an Applebees, furniture store etc. next door. All the guys have crew cuts and wear the same striped shirts right from the Macys sales bin. They look like they are either on leave from the army or have the day off from the cell phone store where they work. You can probably see their ?pimped out rides? in the parking lot. The women are mainly lower-class suburban trash hiding their stomachs in tube tops and dripping in cheap makeup and hoop earrings. You will probably also see some bachelorette party girls and faux OC types venturing out of their parent's McMansion (soon to be foreclosed). The music is boring mash-up/hiphop just like they must play in Arkansas. Sometimes they bring in Vegas DJs ? further proof that this place could only impress bridge and tunnel poseurs. I think the doormen are in acting school because they pretend to be selective with the people they let in. Absolute comedy. It is no surprise that this is a sister club to Ruby Skye, SF?s finest bridge and tunnel club for those souls brave enough to actually venture into the city at night. For an urban clubber looking for a good laugh, this is it.

Cons: a suburban joke

Went there last weekend. The bouncers are really rude. The bartenders are rude. Nothing special about this place. I predict it will close in the next few months...most people I spoke to there, won't go back...Don't worth your money or time...find some thing better...

This club is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to OVERATED!! My best friend who was celebrating his birthday that night got arrested in the bathroom!! While he was trying to defecate in peace, once of the bouncers thought he was doing coke and decided to break down the door and take him outside. Turns out they realized my friend was innocent & let him back in. THEN on the same night 2 of my guy friends tried to come in the club. The bouncer thought they were gay and told them it was "Straight couples Night". Seriously.. I would never go back to this place again!! Drinks are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to over priced!! This place SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aura is a good club to go and dance with young hotties. Drinks are a little overpriced but all and all the music and atmosphere are worth the price. Try to go when Tainted Love plays they are a great 80's band and the night is always fun.

if you are at all interested in dancing to music that is relatively good...dont go here! they hype it up to be this hot new dance club, and end up playing old country songs... no good. the crowd is pretty mixed in ages- popular with the 30 something crowd... drinks are ok- there are a lot of pretentious people, but cmon..its pleasanton!

I love this club! For some the the reviews that say the bouncers are rude and that they are selective...well they need a reality check! This is why this club has a great crowd with great looking guys and girls. I know i will not go to a club that has large groups of all guys commin in and prowling on every gril in the club. This club makes for a comfortable and fun time, i feel safe, and i have a great time. The only people who don't like this club are gross guys and the girls who hang out with them.

Coming from the founder of Ruby Skye, one of San Francisco's predominant hot spots, Aura in Pleasanton definitely delivers. With secure parking, professional staff, and a bar staff that knows the best of cocktails along on par pricing, this Pleasanton night life avenue is one that puts a safe town on the map. Reinforced with globally known talent behind the turntables on a monthly basis, this is an excellent way to celebrate a great weekend. Dress code is semi-casual with attention paid to dress to impress wear. Booths available and dance floors always active on the weekends. A Clientele base focusing to the mature 21+ crowd, this is the east bay's best known secret. Highly recommended.

I just moved to pleasanton from vegas, and this place is everything i miss from vegas clubs. I didnt think i would even get back into it after clubbing 6 days a week there, but this place is great! The vibe is great and so is the look. I would say security needs to ease up a little on the attitude, but its no worse than any other good club. people dont realize that they try to make it a good atmosphere, not all ghetto with people that dont realize they have to dress up some times. i personally dont want to go to a club with guys wearing throwbacks and timbos. They are doing a great job! Ill be back many times with my girl.

Just went here last Friday and had no problems getting in so I cant relate to the rest of the reviews here. The $20 cover is definitely a bit much and the drinks are a bit overpriced - one of those has to change. But the overall atmosphere and ambiance was great, friendly coat check for $2 (not like $5-10 like some places), the decco has been done up real contemporary, especially the other room in the back with the plasma fish aquarium. Music was top40 and some old skool too (BellBivDevoe, etc), bartenders were fairly quick and made any drink requested....nice overall.

I wouldnt burden anybody whos looking for a good time by recommending this place. The bouncers are, shall we say, very selective on who can get in or not. If you dont look like you belong in an episode of laguna beach then you are not welcomed in this place. The drinks are waaayyyy over priced, the people in there are stuck up (bouncers especially) I was kicked out after 5 minutes of sitting at the bar. A buddy of mine was kicked out cuz his dress shirt was wrinkled... You will have a much better time anywhere else. This place has that highschool popularity contest thing going..

I first went here when it opened and I went again this past weekend for the Halloween event on Saturday. I had so much fun and was amazed at the decorations and I did not have to go all the way to the city to enjoy myself. The dance floor is always packed with with hot looking people and I always feel welcomed. I highly recommend this to anyone in the tri-valley.

if you are looking for a good time, a great memorable night. DO NOT go here. I guarantee you'll waste your time. The line is outside, the bouncers are stuck up and rude, the people are so ugly, and the drinks are like water or juice, hardly any alcohol, and they are expensive! cover charge is outrageous. they are on a high horse and they'll be shutting down soon if they don't ease up and change some things around there. i know you'll have a much better time in the city or any where else for that matter.

We took a group of 20 people to this club for a birthday party. went early to get in free. The bouncers said they wouldnt let one girl in because her ID was bent. Ok fine but then a group of my guy friends tried to get in and they said no this ID doesnt feel right and my friend said what you havent even looked at it. So the bouncer was like ok Ill be honest your all guys and you have no girls with you. I will never go again-I loved it the first time but this last time when they treated my friends like they were no good forget it. Ill go to the city.

Yesterday, I visited Club Aura with a couple of friends, and this was suburban pretense on a whole new level. We arrived around 11:15 and we waited in line without moving up, FOR OVER AN HOUR. There are a few attractive women, but for the most part, they are a bunch of 4s that act like 9s. The guys are all wearing the standard pair of blue jeans and white striped shirt and look as if they watch Growing up Gotti and take notes. The level of attitude is beyond anything in SF, or even NYC for that matter. The inside of the club is nicely done, but it's nothing that hasn't been around in SF for a decade. If I have to say anything positive about this place, it's that it serves to herd the B&T crowd in one place, away from all the good places in San Francisco.

This is a one stop shop on Saturdays. My girlfriends and I went last Saturday for a bachelorette party. The food was great and our server was full of personality. We stayed for dancing. There as no reason to leave early, we closed the place. We haven't done that in years. This is our new hot spot.

Went to this place last Saturday. The most amazing new club in the Bay Area. I heard this is owned by the same people that own Ruby Skye in SF. This place is even better. Not a meat market and the music is a perfect mix.We danced to almost every song.Service was fast. The lighting and atmosphere was straight out of Vegas. Defenitely will go back for the bluberry mojitos.

It's so great to have such a cool place to go to over here. My friends and I have had a blast every time we've gone. So far, all the drinks have been yummy, and the little burger plate is to die for. Go early and eat dinner before you hit the dance floor!

They did a good job of alienating my friends. Security was rude. You'd think we were in New York trying to get into a hot club. Drinks were overpriced considering how much liquor was in them. I was looking forward to having a club near home. . . safe to say we won't be there again.

Young full of them selves security men. Sat 7/30 our grp of 15 of local buisness owners arrived to this spot around 10pm. Excited to dance at the newly renovated place, we waited in what we thought was a line, come to find out NO general admission to the public, was being allowed. After standing in line for 15 min. we asked if we could go in and we were refused entry from a public place. Do you think if we arrived in a stretch Hummer or Limo we would have been treated differently. I hope all locals will not support this buisness. We work to hard in this community to have a wonderful place to live and this is not what Pleasanton needs.

After spending most of our time driving to the city for a night out it was nice to see that there was a place to go to right down the street...However opening night was less than desireable, after paying $20 to get in, the large dance floor was less than filled, drinks were expensive, music was late 90's dance mix and the crowd was underdressed and underexcited. Not worth the money for a night out in Pleasanton unless you have a large crowd to make the experience more enjoyable.
