Awful experience on our wedding day. Wrong cakes delivered, no full refund, poor customer service. Very disappointing. Caused no center pieces, no cake feeding, no cake for anniversary. Very, very disappointing!

I was really looking forward to going to this place. Heck, another ettore or karen's style bakery in a different part of town is always interesting. Not only was the service painfully slow- we ordered nothing cooked, and it took 30 minutes for our order. They were severly understaffed. When our order finally arrived it was incorrect. As was the bill.

At Ettore when you order a sandwich for the same price, you get a choice of side salads. Here you get a sandwich with scant ingredients alone on a plate-quite lonely looking. There are some restaurants who should focus on doing one thing well. Either decide to be a bakery or a cafe- clearly Miabelle cant do both well.

I'm surprised in this economy that this place has survived. I am giving it 1 star since the pastries did look lovely in their case. I could nit-pick on, but I think the sacbee needs to update their review of this establishment. The positive reviews are years old.

Needless to say, neither I nor the rest of my party will return, and we will be sure and use the ever powerful word of mouth.

Bottom line- skip this place and head to Karen's in folsom or ettore's on fair oaks blvd if you want a true pastry/cafe experience.

Mirabelle Bakery quoted me a price for a 2 tiered birthday cake in two different amounts. $80.00 for a butter cream frosting and $130.00 dollars for fondant frosting.
I placed my order Tuesday, April 27th, and I initially chose the fondant frosting since I wanted to make this cake a special Sweet 16 birthday cake. I deposited $50.00.
I later changed my mind after a few hours and decided to change the order from fondant frosting to butter cream. I spoke to one of the mangers whose name was Martin and he was very accommodating and said it was no problem at all.
The day of my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party Friday, April 30th, the birthday cake was made out of butter cream just like I orderd. However, they were charging me $130.00. I begged the manager to call Martin because he approved the order. The manager at the time refused and took the cake away. He said "I dare you to find a birthday today for the price of $80.00." I kept repeating that today is my daughter's sweet 16 birthday and to please work with me. He insisted on being mean and was even charging me $10.00 for canceling my order.
I left the bakery crying and without a cake for my daughter's birthday party which was that day.
Please do not buy from this bakery because they obviously do not care about their customers.

I had seen the four-star write up in the Sac Bee and had added Mirabelle's to my TO TRY LIST. Today I finally experienced lunch and found perhaps another STAR. The staff was delightful and were very concerned as to how my friend and I would enjoy the newest menu item ~ crepes. The answer is that we savoured every bite and forgot to chat as we enjoyed our crispy chicken crepe with a tomato based sauce that was delicious. During our lunch, each of the young servers dropped by our table to ask how we enjoyed our meal and since we did, they recommended the vegetarian crepe on our next visit AND WE WILL RETURN Choosing a pastry was difficult, because each looked devine and there were dozens to choose from. I chose a flaky neopolitan ~ yummy. The place was busy with diners and drop-ins, yet the staff took that extra effort to make our visit special. Add this charming place to your LIST and drop by to check out their varied menu and their wonderful pastries.

I went to Mirabelle European Pastries for my first time on July of 2007. I had heard soo much about the place. People all over Sacramento were telling me how great this place is but I never had visited it. I ordered a Greek Salad, and a sandwich with some delicious wine called Mirabelle. The service was fast and great. The staff were very friendly. I loved the design and architecture the actual building itself had from the exterior and interior. The temperature inside the building was also very nice. After eating my lunch I had four different pastries. The pastries were all beautifuly decorated and placed in the glass refrigerated showcases. All four of the pastried tasted really good. It was a tough decision on which four I wanted. My favorite was the eclair filled with cream and topped with chocalate glaze. I loved the place and plan on going back atleast two or three times a week. I definitely recommend Mirabelle Cafe to everyone wether it is for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, or even just a plain old Italian soda!

My mother and I went to Mirabelle for lunch--perhaps this was a poor desicion since Mirabelle specializes in pastries. However, we saw it had recieved 4 stars in the Sacramento Bee and decided to give it a go. My mother ordered an Oriental Salad and I had a turkey sandwich. She disliked her salad a lot and stopped eating it after a few minutes. My sandwich was ok, but very bland. It came with a side salad, which was drenched in what I guess was their house dressing that I did not care for. I only ate half my sandwich and only a bite or two of the salad. My mother complained of the poor quality to the staff, but they did not seem to care--all of the staff that day were kids that didn't seem to know how to handle customer complaints. We were so umipressed with the food quality and unhappy with the staff that we did not sample any of the pastries, which looked delicious. Perhaps they should stick to pastries. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

The shop has been open since April 2006 and this was my first visit (3-21-07). I love hamburgers and have been searching for a really great one since I moved to Sacramento in 1977. The last good hamburger I had was at the, now gone,
Wooden Nickel on Arden.

I very much liked the cheeseburger at this pastry shop (they only serve one version of a hamburger/cheese). The burger itself was of a good size and had some juice and flavor. The lettuce, tomato and onion were nice and fresh. Unfortunately the burger was served cold and my bun was not grilled enough for me. Everyone seems to like/prepare limp buns. I was given the burger free of charge because it was cold.

I had a pastry consisting of a tart shell with chocolate, strawberries and cream. Delicious. The pastry prices were quite reasonable. Grocery stores charge more.

The menu is different as while they serve pastries, breakfasts, soups, salads and sandwiches they also list Calamari, Orange Roughy and Lamb Chops. Another patron ordered the Lamb Chops and I asked him how he liked them. He said "very good". I will go back and try them.

There are only ten tables, no booths and because the shop was small it was noisy. They had the A/C cranked up and it was very cold (maybe that's why the burger was cold).

I had to remind the server to bring utensils and a napkin and she seemed pained to do so.

Overall I liked the shop, but when I go back I will dress warmer.

Pros: Good pastry.

Cons: Entre was cold. (Cheeseburger)
