Awhile ago I went to this place because I needed a few crowns done. My husband told me to go to this office vs. my regular dentist because they could do them in one sitting (instead of 2).

I went to the office and had the work done (at least I thought I did), but the entire time the dentist tried to sell me on all kinds of other services.

I recently went to my regular dentist to have a checkup and learned that the dentist at Mission Oaks Dental Group, didn't do the work properly. He actually gave me "inlays" (instead of crowns) and billed the insurance company for "onlays" -- which apparently is more expensive. He did substandard work and I now need to have the work redone. Thankfully it was caught before I needed root canals!

I went to Mission Oaks Dental Group to talk to someone about the issue and get a refund. The office manager wasn't there, but I was told that she would call me as soon as possible -- that was 2 weeks ago. I have repeatedly left messages for her. I have learned that the dentist that did the work no longer works there, although the receptionist wouldn't tell my why he left.

Mission Oaks Dental Group is owned by a much larger company named Pacific Dental Services. They are located in Irvine. I called the main office and left multiple messages for the "patient services" representative. Nobody has bothered to call me back.

Yesterday I filled out the forms for the better business bureau and tomorrow I plan to call my insurance company.

This is a warning - find a good, reputable dentist vs. being taken in by some advertising scheme. There are no short cuts in dentistry. I wish that I had gone to my regular dentist in the first place!

I am a disappointed resident of Camarillo. I made an\r
appointment at Mission Oaks Dental Office; because I was experiencing a very painful toothache. My first impression is that the office is very clean and organized.\r
Unfortunately, I was seen by a rude lady dentist who suggested an overpriced treatment plan. I am disgusted that this dentist was trying to scam me out of my hard earned money. She claims that she cannot treat my tooth for a root canal but instead tries to sign me up for an $ 1000 crown ! This is outrageously over-priced ! She cannot even speak in complete sentences. My instincts tell me that they are just trying to cheat me. Recently, I went to another dentist for a second opinion and received a root canal and a crown for much less. This made me realize that MISSION OAKS DENTAL GROUP is a money-grubbing FRAUDULENT SCAM. I feel obligated to inform people of their deceiving dental practices.

I tried this place out last month since I work in Camarillo, although I live in Ventura. Anyway, my experience probably begins like that of many others- I drive into a nice, newer shopping center and see the ad for a $39 cleaning, xray, and exam- Sounds too good to be true! The office is new, clean, and has friendly workers. So far, so good. But, as you walk in, you see that there's no one else waiting... curious.... Then you look at the sign-in sheet, and only one or two people have been there all day, and here it is near closing time- hmmm... Then you see all of their brand new, high tech equipment- new PC to fill out your info, none of that hand written, old-fashioned stuff. Then you see their expensive, state of the art laser crown-making machine. How do they afford this on $39 specials?? Anyway, you get a ton of xrays on the latest, expensive equipment, not to mention their high-tech pen sized digital camera that photographs the inside of your mouth! This place reeks of $$$! \r
\r
So far, things are alright- then comes the dentist who pretends to be your friend, but is more like a used car salesman. He looks over the teeth, then says that I need thousands of dollars of work done!! (I've never needed dental work in my life, and I'm in my 40's!) He had the financing woman come in to go over their 'options' since they 'care so much' about working with my limited finances. \r
\r
( I got a second opinion later from a real dentist who said that he was just trying to con $ out of me since there was absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth and that they were in great shape!!!)\r
\r
So then, they go through with the quickest, most incomplete cleaning I've ever seen, they basically use a water-pick and polish the fronts of the teeth in less than 10 minutes. Most of the time was spent on xrays and their financing, and my teeth still had stains from before!\r
\r
It is angering how these guys can lie to your face, thinking only of the $ they can get. After all of their scare tactics, you can't help but go through much stress and mental anguish that your teeth are falling apart; how to pay for all of this expensive work, and then the suffering you'd go through. If I fell for their scam, I'd have a monsterous bill I couldn't afford, drilled up and ruined teeth with fillings that they'd need to replace over the years, pain,.... and all of it for a scam!!!!!\r
\r
Poor cleaning at best; con-artist scams.... I warn you to avoid this place at all costs- their Bait of $39 is a lure to trap and ensnare you in their money-making prison. I later learned from a co-worker that he had the same experience!!!\r
\r
This place is owned by the same people as Camarillo Dental Group on Las Posas, so beware!!!
