In Short
Byzantine parking garage layout aside, this snazzed-up shopping complex is worth the additional getting-there exertion. With several SoCal rarities, including Eileen Fisher and Bric's, and gems like a branch of Third Street's Bread Bar, bawdy Pink Taco and a food court that will make you feel cooler for having been next to a huge, cutting-edge movie theater, this Westfield wonder is a destination unto itself. The uniformed attendants at the info booths are actually helpful, and the public bathrooms are relatively clean. There are over 220 shops, but stars like Bloomie's, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Martin+Osa, Napolean Perdis, TUMI, L'Occitane, Thomas Pink, Restoration Hardware, and a super-stocked Container Store are some of the usual high-end suspects rounding out this comprehensive selection.

Key Points

  • Over 100 Boutiques
  • Bloomingdale's and Macy's
  • 8 Full-Service Restaurants

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - The parking pay machines are ill-placed a few feet from the bottom of the escalators, so on crowded movie and nights and weekends, claustrophobes may prefer to bite the valet bullet.
  2. Parking - Valet services are located on Santa Monica Boulevard, just under Gulfstream Restaurant. The remote you receive upon drop-off is also used to "call" for your car on the way out. Just push the button as you head down the escalators.

Ratings_icons Century City is one of the best shopping malls in LA.

Valerie L

Century City Mall is not a mall that I visit often because I live in the valley however it is one of my favorite places to shop in LA. I prefer Century City to the Grove because of its modern design. The food court has restaurants that you wouldn't normally find in other malls and the stores range from Macy's and Sephora to Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co.

Pros: I never have a problem finding parking.

Ratings_icons Great Mall

Westfield Century City is a great mall, with lots to do. Go get dinner, go shopping, then check out a movie at the HUGE multi-plex AMC theatre! I've been going to this mall for 20 years and it gets better and better each year

Pros: Lots of stores, open air, great food court, awesome theatre

Cons: Tough when it rains

Ratings_icons Beautiful at night

The shops are nice, but majority are high end companies. Free validated parking is always a plus. I really like watching a movie there, but I rarely go considering movie tickets are ridiculous.

Overall, it's a great place to just hang out and people watch. The renovation was well worth it and it's always nicely decorated.

Pros: Atmosphere

Cons: Expensive

Ratings_icons Great Place!

I really like this shopping center. It is one of my preferred places to go. They have many outlets for food, entertainment and shopping. I personally love the Borders and the AMC which is two floors. The atmosphere is quiet, serene, and architecturally very beautiful.

Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service

Cons: nothing

Ratings_icons AWESOME mall; difficult-to-navigate parking lot

dmenkes

I've been here a great many times and since their renovation it's only gotten better. I highly suggest checking out the food court near the movie theater. There's an Italian place in there where you can eat at the counter and is very very good. Their parking lot is one of the most confusing I've ever seen for a mall. You really have to pay attention where you come up or you'll be hunting around for your car for a while. Overall, I love this place and look forward to going back more often once I'm living in the westside again.

Pros: variety and quality of the shops and eateries

Cons: parking lot

Ratings_icons Westfield's Great Outdoors Mall - Century City

metrofoxhills

Century City has a lot to offer, a variety of stores including Macys, Blooingdales. A wonderful market - Gelson's. And the AMC theater. Also, there is a wonderful food court area with a good variety of food to choose from.

Tha mall does provide free parking (I can't remember now for how long), if you purchase a theater ticket, you can get your ticket valided and have even a longer amount of time to park.

Parking is usually very good at this mall. There are two levels of parking which is a about a block long. If you go to the AMC theaters and you do not want to have to look for parking - try to get there in the morning during the first show before the stores open for the day.

Pros: variety of stores, wonderful supermarket, AMC Theater

Cons: None

Great place on the Westside to shop. Upscale stores, attractive women, great outdoor mall. Parking is usually plentiful - and free for 4 hours which is nice. AMC theaters are also here - but the theaters are small.

Ratings_icons One-stop shopping

Century City is the ideal mall for a sunny day. This makes it the ideal mall of Los Angeles. The mall is open so you'll walk in the fresh air as you contemplate heading into Macy's, Bloomingdale's or Banana Republic. Parking is free for three hours, and you don't even need a validation. Best of all: the pretzel store provides a perfect snack. If you time it right, you might pass by right as they're giving away free samples.

Pros: Free parking, Great stores
