Been to Safire twice for happy hour and the menu selection and pricing was good. My friends and I ordered a few pizzas and all of them were tasty. The margaritas I got were strong (a good thing), but still tasty.
First negatives: The first time my friend and I were there, we were going to have a group of about 8. The bar seating area was limited, so we got there a little early and kept an eye out for good tables where we can stand or sit around. We saw one opened up, but the waitress said that it was reserved. It's open seating, so I don't get it. My friend asked her later and she said that it's generally open seating, but you can call ahead and ask them to hold a table. I thought it was lame. We ended up sitting outside, but she never came out so we went back in. Once the rest of the group arrived, we did end up going outside and the service got better, but felt she could've came by a little more frequently.
Second negative: I had dinner there once and got the rib-eye steak. Our waiter seemed a little critical of things we asked about. I like my steaks rare, so I wanted to try the rib-eye that way. When I ordered it that way, I felt he disapproved. The entire time I was there, my friend and I received a strange vibe from him. Besides that, the service was fine and I left him a good tip for recommending a good wine to go with my steak. Oh, the steak wasn't very impressive and wasn't very evenly cooked so only part of it was rare. Disappointing considering the price. I'll probably try the food again, but will go for my usual filet migon (which better come rare or else they're lose a customer).

With the word "fire" integrated into the restaurant's name, you know you'll see some of the hot stuff. The open kitchen allows a view of its wood-stoked oven that burns through oak and mesquite. Out of that oven, chef Christopher Bryan…
