I am responding to the house of cheap color review. The guest that wrote this review did not let us know she was unhappy. Upon reading her review I researched her name and date of her visit I found her and made a call to her to find out what the problem was and why she was so unhappy. I brought her back to our salon at no charge, she asked for something completely different than her original visit to our salon. This guest left very happy and said she would return to our salon despite the bad experience she had with her first stylist.As an owner I feel this is my job regardless who the stylist is. She did not receive what she asked for and felt misled, it is clear on our website we have different levels of stylist and she felt her stylist was not at the level she would like to of had. This Stylist no longer works at our salon.Nobody likes to read bad review of their business but overall this is what helps us grow as a business and as a salon. We hope to take this constructive criticism and apply it accordingly to help us grow.

I usually don't do the whole review thing. But the service that I received from HOC was amazing. New to Bakersfield from Orange County (used to go to Adiana's Salon and day spa) so I didn't know what to expect. The receptionist greeted me with a smile got me a drink and made me feel right at home. My wait was very short and the stylist that cut my hair did an awesome job. The scalp massage was a nice added bonus. The atmosphere was nice it had an urban trendy feel and the staff was all very friendly. My wife and mother in law tried HOC also and have been coming back ever since. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I am new to Bakersfield, and was recently in dire need of a haircut and new color. I chose this salon because their website seemed very professional and their picture seemed to depict the kind of style I wanted. I WAS WRONG. My haircut was satisfactory, but the dye job is a wreck! I asked for a dark auburn full color with true red highlights, and what I got was an ugly brown with orangey-pink highlights. The dye has continued to bleed incessantly over the last 5 days, and the "true red" is now almost completely blonde. They advertise a specialty in hair color and the only Redken color bar in southern California, but I got better quality in hair dye I bought at Wal-Mart and did myself! I will definitely be getting my hair redone at a different salon in a few weeks to prevent damage to my hair, but I will NOT be returning to this salon.
