This place hooked me up so I could get my blue cocktail fix. This week I went there for dinner and it was very cool. Had been there twice before for some delicious Mai Tai drinks.

The restaurant was full for dinner on Tuesday at 6:00 but we were seated (table of 4 plus a high chair) within 5 minutes. The cocktails are varied and good (I agree... a little pricey), the pulled pork dish with sticky rice and coleslaw with a hint of ginger was fantastic. The 'Broke Ya Mouth' burger was huge and filled with fresh ingredients. It was accompanied with sweet potato fries that were very tasty. The other dish at our table was some a seafood soup that had lemon grass that was reportedly very good too.

This place adds a little more interest in an already interesting area in Santa Cruz. I love that it is close to the Well Within Spa. In the past we have gone there for a cocktail before going to the spa to begin our 'relax' session.

We ate dinner at Hula's and it was just a really fun restaurant with red lighting and hawaiian decor, but not too cheesy! We ordered way too much and spent way too much, but it is a semi-reasonably priced restaurant (around $12 for each entree) and we could have escaped with a smaller bill if we hadn't wanted so many things on the menu. We ordered two appetizers - the island style poke ($9) and the hawaiian ceviche ($9) with a side of plantains ($2). We also ordered drinks and a dessert (the macadamia nut ice cream pie). The mixed drinks here are really, really strong so be careful! The plantains are so tasty... they are semi-caramelized bananas and for a side order it was pretty generous.

This place has really good sweet potato fries. They also have favorite island drinks like fish bowls and tiki drinks. It also has the great vibe of an island luau.
