I have never written a review before, however I had such a terrible experience at MXI Lab I felt the need to prevent others from visiting such a terrible dental facility!

MXI Lab offers teeth whitening services and oral x-rays. I went to have my preliminary x-rays done for my upcoming orthodontia. First off, this place does not accept dental insurance of any kind. You must pay up front with cash or check ONLY (no debit/credit cards or FSA cards) and then fill out claim paperwork with your insurance to be reimbursed for the service. Not exactly a customer friendly payment system, and sounds a bit shady to me. The woman who came up to the front desk 5-10 minutes after I arrived wasn't very pleasant and didn't seem to enjoy her job. However she obviously did like the perks of having a Plastic Surgery/Botox medical center in the same office building as her face showed plenty of the aftermath.

After filling out basic paperwork, the woman took me to one of the rooms to complete my x-rays. The room was small, dark, and filthy. There were medical items spewing out of the containers and what looked to be dirty and used items left on a medical tray by the sink. This same woman (I believe her name is Anna Broderson) then shoved (yes, shoved!) my face into position to have my face x-rayed. You know when doctor's take your temperature using a thermometer in your ear, and they always put a cover over the portion which goes into your ear canal? Well, on this machine there were 2 prongs which go into the patient's ears and they looked filthy...because they don't use covers to go over the ear prongs!! I tried to have my ears barely touch the plastic, but then dear 'ol Anna forcefully pushed the prongs into my ears. This was not only disgusting, but it hurt my eardrums alot! I winced and I'm sure she saw me, but she didn't seem to care.

Next came the x-rays of my teeth. To my horror, the items I saw a few minutes earlier on a medical tray were going to be placed in my mouth! While watching her prepare the x-ray material with these plastic items I could see even more clearly that they were dirty and poorly disinfected/washed, if at all! It was all I could do to keep from crying and screaming. Anna's poor behavior and manners continued as she would jam the instruments in my mouth and would become frustrated when I would begin to gag. What else could she really expect with the way she was inserting those things in to my mouth??

Thank goodness the entire process took no more than 10 minutes. I rushed out of there as quickly as I could. My orthodontist Dr. David Marshak (who is awesome, by the way) recommended this location because he said it was the least expensive. Obviously they are cheap because they have no quality standards whatsoever! I will definitely never visit this location again and on my next ortho visit in 2 weeks I will gladly tell Dr. Marshak about my experience so he never recommends anyone else to use them either. I would give this place 0 stars if I could!
