I was a Big Fan for 20 plus years, Bedroom sets, living room sets till now. I went and got a new wall unit for my home. the guys were on time and fast to get in and out. I was feeling good till one of the cabinets would not close. I called the store and it took about a week to gut to the right person. once I did they said they would order the replacement part and once it came in they would call me when someone would be out to fix my new unit. well two weeks almost three week went by and a girl called said my part was in and I could pick it up. I called for the girl to be out, called again and the girl told me no I would need to fix it myself that no one would come to fix it that I could pick the part up and do it myself. WOW what customer service I spend a lot of money with them and to be told someone would take care of me to be told no way deal with it myself. I told the person that they wold loose me as a customer the girl said good and hung up on me. I feel people should go to companies like this for the customer service but if they loose that why would be pay more to go with them ? So bottom line is maybe all will be good for you, But i'm staying with the big boxed stores and if I can't get the customer service why not get the best price.. Run elsewhere.. Kirk

I needed living room furniture months ago and was looking at citysearch for furniture stores, Michael's furniture came up but it had poor reviews so i skipped over it and went to a few other better-reviewed places in my area. i didn't really find anything so i decided to just keep the furniture i had for the time being because I didn't want to settle on something I didn't really like and i was feeling really irritated that i couldn't find anything i wanted.\n\nrecently I decided to shop around again and saw that the reviews were alot better for michael's, i thought I might as well check it out. I don't know if they hired new staff or retrained old staff because of bad reviews but i know the man who helped me was really nice and patient and helped me decide what furniture would be best for my house. My husband was mad that i didn't take him with me at first but when i took him with me the second time to help choose the rest of the living room and bedroom stuff he was happy when i showed him the selections we made and was so glad that the salesman (not the same as the first time but another nice man) assisted us so well. My sister is buying a condo so i'm going to take her to michael's to look at their furniture, too.

We needed a sofa and coffee table because the stuff from our old apartment just didn't go with the size and layout of the new place. \n\nWhen we got to Michael's, we were surprised at how much selection they had and at how reasonable the prices were. After looking around and finding something we liked, we were approached by a very helpful salesman who assisted us in ordering exactly what we needed. We got a beautiful sectional and a matching coffee table, which fit perfectly in our modern living room once it was delivered the following week.\n\nAll in all, we'd definitely visit Michael's again... And maybe sooner rather than later - we *do* need some new patio furniture! :)

I went into the Michael's looking for a sectional for my living room. I decided to come into this warehouse since I've been seeing the commercials so much recently amd thought I could find a good deal. Maybe it was because I was wearing jeans and flip-flops but I was TOTALLY ignored!!! I walked the entire warehouse and NOT ONE person greeted me. There was a woman who walked right by me, who I thought was another customer at first, then walked away and asked a family if they needed help with anything. They were seated at a counter and replied they were being helped already. She then continued to walk to a desk overlooking the warehouse and sat there. Wow!!! Was I not good enough to be approached???! Shouldn't people be polite if they want a sale?! Well, if anyone is looking for some good inexpensive furniture stores, go to LA on N. Western where the 500-600 block is located. I found a great sectional for only $600 and they will treat you much better in those stores. Good luck!!!

My husband and I purchased a sectional from them and were told it would be delivered the following Saturday. They said they would call the day before to confirm time of delivery. They did not call. I called them Saturday morning and was told delivery would be made between 10am and 2pm. I waited until 2:45pm and when they did not show, I called. The girl that picked up told me they showed up at the appartment but since my husband did not answer his cell phone when they called, they left. I asked why they didn't call me or ask the onsite manager at the building to contact me? She had no answer. I was told they would return later. My husband called back and asked for a specific timeframe. She told my husband they would deliver brfore 10pm!!!! My husband drove to the store and asked the girl to show on his phone when they had called and left a message earlier in the day. She said she didn't know but she had called!??! At this point the owner(bald guy with less ""overhead"") goes up to my husband, points his finger right in my husband's face and starts yelling "" You can't tak to my girl and call her a liar"". My husband says to him ""who the heck are you? take your finger away or I will shove it up your...."" The owner says you gotta leave. My husband says, I will not what r u gonna do? He tells my husband he will have his guys throw my husband out. My husband tells him he is crazy and does not know how to help their customers. They have no customer service. He left. We finally got the couch at 6:30pm. All in all, they lie! Awful customer service and the owner is crazy. He acts like a clown on t.v. but in real life, he is truly crazy mad!

Here is the problem:\nI have been in contact with the retail store, they are refusing to do anything about the sofa. They also sold me an extended warranty package that as yet they have failed to deliver me the paperwork for after I requested it 3 times. It took over a month and 4 fumbled attempts just to get someone from their store to come to inspect the sofa. This person that inspected the sofa stood there and took pictures of the sofa, opened one of the seat cushions, took out the materials inside of it, squeezed it a couple of times, then put the cushion back together, the cushion is now crooked and misshapen as a result. The person that did the inspection told me that the customer service manager Veronica, would call me the next day. Veronica called me 8 days later and told me there was nothing wrong with the product and that they could do nothing for me. Veronica also said that I had waited too long to contact them about it. I did not wait too long, I have a work order with a date on it that shows when I came into the store initially with the complaint. At this point I went round and round with her about the problems and realizing that she is not going to try to resolve this problem, I demanded that the owner call me. She gave me another story about the owner being sick, and that she would try to have him/her call me this Monday. I will not hold my breath. Just to get the gentleman to inspect the sofa took 5 phone calls and 2 visits to their store. When I lift the seat cushions the springs are just below the fabric material, there is not even any padding between the springs and the seat cushions. I would think that a $500 dollar sofa should have some sort of padding over the springs. Additionally, when the gentleman took the seat cushion apart, I could see the depressions being made into the foam cushioning by the springs that have no protective padding over them between that fabric material and the fabric of the seat cushion. this is also evident to me that in no time at all the springs will break through the fabric and the seat cushions. A $500 sofa should not do this. They also sold me an extended warranty package that as yet they have failed to deliver me the paperwork for after I requested it 3 times. It took over a month and 4 fumbled attempts just to get someone from their store to come to inspect the sofa. This person that inspected the sofa stood there and took pictures of the sofa, opened one of the seat cushions, took out the materials inside of it, squeezed it a couple of times, then put the cushion back together, the cushion is now crooked and misshapen as a result. The person that did the inspection told me that the customer service manager Veronica, would call me the next day. Veronica called me 8 days later and told me there was nothing wrong with the product and that they could do nothing for me. Veronica also said that I had waited too long to contact them about it. I did not wait too long, I have a work order with a date on it that shows when I came into the store initially with the complaint. At this point I went round and round with her about the problems and realizing that she is not going to try to resolve this problem, I demanded that the owner call me. She gave me another story about the owner being sick, and that she would try to have him/her call me this Monday. I will not hold my breath. Entirely disappointing experience. The delivery people were at least nice. \n\nI went looking for a new dining table. I found I liked and decided to purchase it. It was to be delivered the following Monday. On Monday the table was delivered it was the wrong table. So I end up staying home on Tuesday to wait for the right table. Then show up at 6pm after I sacrificed a day of work to find they again delivered a different but wrong table. I was confused.\n\nAfter going to the store on Wednesday and told that no one was around that could help me. I called on Thursday to learn that the chairs I wanted were discontinued and they could not get them. I am amazed that they thought providing different chairs was even acceptable especially since I was never consulted about getting different chairs.\n\nI am at least pleased the refunded my money, but I am amazed they did not try to really fix the problem by talking to me it mite have saved them from this bad review.

I was really concerned about all the negative reviews. I spoke to the owner and his daughter about my concerns. Finally, I decided to make my purchase. The leather recliner was delivered on time. It came from a box. So far, so good. I will write again if there are any problems.

My wife and i were thinking, ""hey! lets get some great furniture for a great price!"" so here we thought michael's furniture would be a great place to go with their ""less overhead!"" commercials. \r\n\r\nSo we end up going over there, because not only did we think that stupid old guy was pretty funny on the commercial, but their junkmail specifically advertised ""$500 rebate!!!""... so we were like, hells ghea! \r\n\r\nWe go in, talk to a pushy salesman... well, i guess that's our fault for staying and taking it up the a$$... but that's not what i'm here for...\r\n\r\nwe purchased a bedroom set for 1,500... but we were able to talk the salesperson into giving us 2 rebates... so we thought to ourselves, ""wow! even better! these people are great!""... \r\n\r\nnow, it's time to check out... first, we find out that the rebate isn't 500 bucks that we get back over the span of a month or 2, but over a year and a half! like wtf? now that's our bad for following through with the rebate... but once again, that's not the kicker... \r\n\r\nbefore we get to the kicker, lets talk about how the rebate works... the rebate works by my wife and i spending 100 bucks a month at a specific grocery/gas store... and in return, they rebate us 25 bucks back... so basically 25 bucks a month to equate 500 dollars (the rebate's full value) would take a little over a year and a half... \r\n\r\n""WHAT'S THE KICKER?!"", you ask? well, this was our first month collecting crappy receipts and writing out the voucher number on each one and keeping track of how much we've been spending where... then, i head on over to the rebate website to print next month's voucher, a message comes up saying, ""We've filed Chapter 11, blah blah""... \r\n\r\ni haven't tried calling michael just yet, but i shouldn't have to call them. customer service like this where they think they can just get away with it by hoping their customers don't call them is just plain stupid... but mind you, they're gonna get a new hole ripped once i get them on the phone... no wait, i'll show up tomorrow to make sure i see the expression on potential customers faces when i scream out, ""YOU GUYS SCAMMED ME!""... \r\n\r\nstupid commercials.

Michael's does have a good selection and you will be able get a good deal on the purchase of your furniture...after that it's any ones guess as to when you will get what you paid for. After looking for a long time, I decided to buy a clearance sofa at Michael's. I paid for the sofa, shipping and tax, and was told it would be delivered in 48 hours. WELL, in 48 hours, the movers showed up with a completely DIFFERENT sofa.. a cheap, ugly, decrepid sofa. I was appalled. Three days before Christmas and they pulled a bait and switch. NOT OKAY. When we phoned the store, they said they sold OUR sofa to someone else, that they forgot to remove the tag. The salesman we dealt with was LESS than friendly, he was impatient and rather rude. We will NEVER shop there or EVER recommend this place to anyone. Good luck if you go to them, you might wind up with something completely different in your living room!!!!!

What is holding them back is variety (lack of lighting selection , area rugs, etc etc) There are far worse furniture showrooms out there. Michael's Furniture Warehouse is not one of them. If you want to get ripped off, go to Ashely's at the Helms Bakery district. Where they try to charge you $130 for shipping for two barstools, and local pickup is in Riverside.

I have bought from Michaels 2 times and have decorated my entire house with their furniture. First of all, they have they best selection and the best deals in town. I have looked at every other big furniture store in LA and nothing compares. I got a deal on the most beautiful furniture and get compliments on it everytime some enters my home.\r\nWhile shopping there with my kids we where offered Pizza the first time and sadwiches the 2nd time.\r\nThey let me borrow their camera and computer to take pictures of what i wanted and I emailed them to my wife who was out of town. I did not get any pressure but every time they spoke to me I got a cheaper and better deal. Had to take the time to right this as I think this place is such a find.

VERONICA has lied 3 times to us. had to go back to store personaly, was told they would replace or fix any damages, said ""they ordered replacement"". they never did. sofa set broke first use. guy came to fix it and could not. frame is bent and totally out of alignment. sofa also torn. quality is horrible. they now refuse to do ANYTHING to help, replace or fix there damaged, used junk they delivered. i did sign at delivery as we were in the middle of moving that day, but it has taken inspection and use (once) to find damages and defects. they will say or do anything for a sale, and then you are on your own! you have been warned. i will go to court, and have contacted Better Business. i am out alot of money

I recently just left Michael's and i left a deposit for some furniture that I hadn't even decided I wanted. I trusted the sales man (the rabbit) and thought If I decided not to purchase anything then I had the choice to change my mind or so I was leed to believe. After being lied to that they were the only retail place that had something I had interest in and I had to wait 2-3 weeks if I decided to get it. I ended up finding the same thing only made with a better quality, a better price and was available right there. After I made the rabbit aware of this he then put in an effort to get the furniture to me by that weekend! What happened to 2-3 weeks? Now the company does not want to refund my money that was left for something that they didn't even have. That Company is a Rip-off and shouldn't even be in business.

I was very surprised to read so many bad reviews. I think some people just have extremely high standards. This place is excellent for everyone that can't afford Crate & Barrel, Pier 1 or Restoration Hardware. Name brands are scarce in this store - which left me with quite a bit to choose from. Most name brands are only that, a name. They don't always mean quality but they do always mean price!\r\nI was amazed at the size of the warehouse, it's huge! Plenty to choose from! My sales person was Augustine, I believe and he was great. He introduced himself in the beginning and allowed us to take our time - never bombarding us with sales-crap. He let us come to him when we were ready, and he even brought us water bottles, as it was such a hot day.\r\nI absolutely recommend this place to anyone on a tight budget, anyone living paycheck to paycheck who wants something brand new and anyone who hasn't ever purchased from a frou-frou furniture store.

I have seen the commercials for this place and I have to say I was a bit reluctant to go. When we got there, they have a huge selection and different levels of quality. We found everything we needed and it was delivered when we wanted it to be.

My husband and I went there to buy a sofa right when we walked in we were all given a cold bottle of water which was great since we were thristy then our childern was offered pizza. We looked at many sofa's and were not pressured to buy anything. We did ask about delievry and removel of our old sofa set we thought the price was fair for the delivery especially the price of gas these days and to cart our old sofa away just taking the old sofa was a god send it would of cost us a couple of hundred dollars as it was junk .The delivery was set up and we actually got our sofa sectional when promised that was also nice on time delivery who would of guessed.We also bought the 5 year warrenty knowing we have 6 kids and 5 cats. Over all the personal service was really above par.

I read these reviews and I am shocked that these people had such a negative experience. I'm not sure what people expect from a furniture store. One person complained about not being able to return the furniture! Show me ANY furniture store that allows that. \r\n\r\nMichaels is a furniture store. The salespeople are on commission. You're going to get pressure to buy, they're going to try to get as much money as possible from you, they're going to try to sell you the moon. It's your job to get the best price you can. Do your homework. Understand what you can get elsewhere for the money. Sit in furniture so you can feel what's cheap and what's expensive and don't be an idiot shopper. Understand that you can't get a $5000 sofa for $1000 and have it be the same thing. Michaels is basically a furniture wholesaler. They've got good stuff and bad stuff. And a lot of really ugly floral prints and other hideous furniture adventures. But they've got decent stuff too. Just don't be an idiot and you should be OK.

Bottom line is the furniture is cheap. You have to really look at the item and see how it is made. I have bought some furniture that is great other stuff that has fallen apart. They do bargin with the prices

David, the store manager is a slick talker. He tried to sell me the floor model without ever letting me look at it. When I did look at the bed he was selling me it was broken in several places. He first tried to tell me his guys would fix it until I found a part that was split in the middle of the headboard. He left frantically and while I waited I sat on the bed and started to notice several of the floor models were broken but had the broken parts hidden against a wall with other pieces of furniture wedged up next to them. He came back after a couple of minutes angry and said he would order me a new one. The original order was suppose to take only 10 days but I did not actually receive my bed for a month and it took 2 deliveries to get all the pieces a week apart. They did not place the order the first time and after I called them about it, they then ordered it but not all the right pieces. When I called to talk to him about it he got angry again and said he should have never sold me a new bed and made me take the floor model. He claimed he never knew it was broken but he lost money by giving me a new bed. He also is not tactful when handling customers' personal credit. I heard him talking about another customer having a bankruptcy right in front of me. He was not discreet at all. I was very embarrassed for the other couple. He is an a**hole to work with if he doesn't take you for a ride. Beware before you buy! The prices are good but the customer service is not and I question the condition of the furniture!

We went to purchase a sofa and love seat the first of October. While we there, we were rushed to find a style and fabric. after purchase we were told that it would take 4 to 5 weeks for delivery. Approimately 4 1/2 weeks later, I called the store to find out if delivery would be soon. A woman in the office had to call the manufacturer and find out it would be one more week til delivery. As of this morning, 6 weeks later we recieve a call from the store to be told that the fabric had been discontinued and we need to come down and pick ANOTHER fabric and that it would bee at least 4 MORE WEEKS! I really think they are somewhat over priced and make sure what you choose is IN STOCK or you will have to wait months for your furniture. I DO NOT recommend this store for future purchases of furniture!

They do have some cheaper stuff, but they also have some wonderful furniture there.... The sales staff acts a little like their commercials, but they are helpful.... You can wheel and deal with them a little too...
