5 Stars: AMAZING (by DrinkingupNYC)

I came out to LA to visit some family and i wanted to treat them to some special spa services while i was out there. We all got hour massages and my sister also got a facial treatment. Everything from start to finish was very nice and classy. The spa itself is lovely and huge and everyone there was really great. My massage was fantastic and i felt so good and relaxed. Everyone was so pleased with all of their treatments. My sister said that her facial was terrific and exactly what she wanted. it was pretty expensive, but i think that it was worth the money to get such good treatments. And it was right in the W hotel so it was super convenient for us to get to and get out of. All in all it was a great day and i would highly recommend Bliss Spa in LA and NYC!

1 Stars: Pretty Horrible (by AbigailLucy)

$80 for a mani/pedi that was about as sub-par as you can get.
I was greeted by a technician who was clearly having a bad day. I had heard great things about this place, and was sadly disappointed. Staff were more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than taking care of me. The mani/pedi itself lasted about 2 days. Was not "blissed-out" at all. For $80, check yourselves into the Four Seasons if you want to feel really taken care of.

5 Stars: Loved It (by llknyc)

Had oxygen facial here and it was a great experience. The parking is annoying but the facial was such a treat. I loved that the spa wasn't crowded like a zoo (like the nyc soho branch) and the staff was pleasant and professional. I would probably do the basic facial instead of the oxygen but i loved my aesthetician and the facility was clean and well stocked.

2 Stars: overoveroverpriced (by bananasareformonkeys)

i had my first and probably last bliss massage this past sunday. i have to admit that i probably haven't been to a spa that fancy before, but come on what can possibly make a massage worth 250bucks??? the cucumber, water and cookies? come to my house, i'll give you some. they cost 10cents... my massage was good but i definitely wouldn't ever spend that much money on it. i actually had a gift certificate for my massage that's why ended up going at all. my massage therapist was excellent, my only problem was with the girl who threw me into the changing room...not really telling me what to expect as a first timer. yeah, go get changed and then fill out the form and then they will pick you up.

4 Stars: A Worthy Spa Splurge (by francepesa)

I've been twice early on a Saturday morning for the Blissage 75 and it's been well worth it each time (even with the $25 raise in price). The staff is more than competent; my masseuse worked in some deep tissue techniques last time to ensure I got something out of the massage (I denied adding on in the beginning, not knowing my back was that bad, and tipped gratefully!) The white ambience is relaxing, brownie bar with cheese and crackers great, and rainfall head showers are nice. All in all, you pay for quality and that's what you get!

3 Stars: best massage experience (by crev312)

just got back from bliss los angeles for a blissage75; had a gift certificate from my bday. LOVED everything - not only was the service itself great (awesome massage, paraffin for your feet, cucumber eye mask, heated blanket, etc), the rest of the facility was like I've never seen before at a spa. Very cute decor, women's lounge was so relaxing, sauna and steam showers, and brownies? YUM. Thought I wouldn't be one to spend $ for spa services but I booked myself for another blissage in a month! Hopefully I'll get to try all their other services too - their manicure/pedicure station looks amazing with your own flat screen tv and headphones. Definitely would suggest bliss to everyone.

3 Stars: Clarity (by kjs4600)

I would actually like to clarify a negative review about this spa. About the parking...that is the W's thing, they are the ones charging for parking. Bliss has been fighting to get this changed and they have. Parking is now valet at $5 for 3 hours. About the waxing...a basic bikini will remove hair outside of a modest bikini. Most people are looking for a betweeny which goes further and removes more hair creating a thinner hair line. It wasn't a bait and switch. Bliss charges more for their waxing because they use a hard wax which is more expensive, they use a skin cleanser, pre-waxing oil, post waxing calming balm and they don't double dip which means they use one spatula every time they apply wax and then discard it so because they use much more product than other places, this is why it's a bit more expensive. A basic bikini is booked out for 15 mins so if you are 12mins late for a 15min appointment, well, you can do the math. It's not that they don't want to accommodate you but if that aesthetician had an appointment immediately after, she couldn't possibly wax you in 3mins and still be on time for her next client who wasn't late for their appointment. If your appointment is a 12:00, be there at 11:45. Therapists at spas are on a set time frame for all services, some appts are only 15mins long so be on time. If one person is late, it completely snowballs the entire day. Therapists are on a tight schedule and have no room to make up time lost by a late client. Give them a break.

1 Stars: High end spa fails to deliver (by losangelena)

After waxes elsewhere that were painful, even bruising, I really wanted sthing better. Bliss charges 2-3x others, but I was willing to pay to avoid pain and get clean, safe service. That said, I'm v. disappointed and would DEF not go back. Why?
1) Parking: a) Valet: Expensive. No validation--not classy at all. A place that charges a premium shouldn't stick customers w/ parking fees!
b) Street parking: Metered, scarce. Ticketing v. thorough. And, staff completely insensitive! When I explained that I had a meter, staff blew me off and gave false info about how long I'd have to wait.
2) Time: Never kept waiting less than 20 mins, often much longer. Conversely, when I was 12 mins late, staff told me I'd have to re-schedule, then gave complete runaround, including incorrect info, leaving me waiting over an hour, much longer than was indicated, or necessary, given staff availability. Totally unapologetic.
3) Ambiance: Glaring oversights defeat intended effect. Ex: after checking in, you wait in the unventilated manicure area, so start your experience inhaling toxic fumes. Totally tacky, really unhealthy.
4) Bait-and-switch: Ex: Once, I wanted a bikini wax. Person on phone listed 3 options: basic ($35), betweeny ($50), Brazilian ($70). Said basic would remove hair "anywhere not covered by a bikini." Only after I arrived and was in the room did aesthetician tell me that basic did much less than that, and to get the services that were described on phone, I'd have to get betweeny.
5) CUSTOMER SERVICE: Front desk staff ranges: incompetent to rude. I've received false info several times. For ex, once, the person I'd previously seen was out, so I asked for someone with equivalent experience. Staff told me all aestheticians had exactly the same amount of experience. I don't know if I was more annoyed at not being given the info I needed to make a decision, or being treated like an idiot. Overall, though, treated like an idiot pretty much sums up the experience here.

4 Stars: Overpriced, but nice ambience (by lcs415)

Love the W, and Bliss is nice...but overpriced. They have a huge selection of services and products, that they will try to convince you that you need. Plan to save up to get even a basic massage, because it never ends up just being a massage! They try to get you to buy more every step of the spa experience...even when you are in the massage room! They upsell you oils and massage add-ons. The whole lobby is a convenience store of beauty goodies. Don't get me wrong, it is good stuff (with fun packaging). But I have a hard time saying no --- and I leave broke!

5 Stars: Wonderful Facials with Witty Names! (by elisehwall)

I have been using Bliss products for some time and now Angelenos have the chance to experience Bliss spa services as well! I received the Triple Oxygen Treatment which was wonderful. It lasted much longer than imagined and I was glad I did not park in a metered spot! My esthetician was very knowledgeable and communicated with me the entire time (if you do not like to talk, I am sure she would not say anything, I simply kept asking questions). They do not use steam at Bliss which I learned actually facilitates the growth of bacteria (warmth and moisture, makes sense) and so they use plastic wrap to trap in the heat created by the masks or solutions placed on the skin. The interiors are really cute and they have snacks and lemonade in the break room in case you get hungry waiting for your spa experience. Yummy!

5 Stars: Finally!!! (by katzen157)

Finally a spa in LA that delivers on all levels. Bliss is definately a different kind of spa. It's not a cookie cutter dark, roman bath house with a babbling brook in the backround scene. It's bright, airy and they play music from Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, ect. The therapists are top notch! I have been told that Bliss will only hire the best and it definately shows. To top it all off the treatments are not only relaxing but extremely effective. I had a Triple Oxygen Facial with a Microdermabrasion add on and my skin looked flawless! If you want a true relaxing and effective experience, look no further and get some Bliss.
