Nice location and layout. Foodwise I wasn't overly impressed. I got 2 skewers. The chicken was very pink and the spiced lamb was notably un-spiced. I was hoping to get those wonderful aromatic flavors I remember from the med. Will probably give them another try - maybe the chef had an off day. although the mojito's were very weak too.

I am in love with Bistro 9. Ever since the restuarant opened in the Inner Sunset about a year ago, it has been one of my favorite spots.

The skewers are excellent and well underpriced. The salmon and scallops skewer in particular is fantastic. Also, the wine is pretty good and inexpensive.

My favorite aspect of Bistro, however, is the outdoor patio and the basement. The patio is elegant and heated and removed from the street noise. The easily-missed basement is a lounge/wine bar filled with couches and has a warm and romantic feel.

Good food, fantastic mulled wine, and a cozy atmosphere. A very nice little addition to the 9th & Irving area.
