Went there to hear a great presentation on real estate and had delicious bread and oil/garlic sauce, which was fantastic. So I stuck around to also have a great meal, which the pastas were excellent and the cream sauce was just wonderful. I couldn't help myself by eating my friends dish which was also a pasta dish. Highly recommend for nice dinner and close to shops in town

I absolutely adore this restaurant, very cozy and yet full of life.
The menu is simply spectacular, very fun to read. Still have the taste of their Bigoli in my mouth.
Now, I was informed, that they starting a spec promotion every Tuesday with 6 wines by the glass at $ 5, beers at $ 4 and their grilled crisp pizza at $ 5 .
What a steal!
Can t wait to go there this Tuesday

We went in on a monday night before christmas after reading a review that stated the great food was now cheaper due to the struggles of the restaurant to stay afloat. Well, I can tell you they should have focused a little harder on service and food quality. The menu was limited, which would have been fine but for the fact that there was a lot of radicchio in everything that didn't have meat in it. I tried it anyway- radicchio in lasagna is just as awful as you think it would be. I had a decent mini pizza with artichoke and shrimp, but it was very small and not worth 8 dollars. I have no issue spending money on small amounts of food if its high quality, but I didn't feel I was getting anything special for the price- and the reason they get one star is due to service more than the food. The server was very pushy, I felt like they were rushing to get us out when we hadn't even ordered a drink yet. I'm in the service industry (and I go out to eat all the time to a variety of places) so I do not hog a table all night and refuse to order, so I was annoyed by the unwarranted pushiness, the lack of help- soon the entire place filled up and it became clear he was the ONLY server there- then he took a long time to bring my credit card charge- he gave the card back but no charge slip- which became clear why on christmas eve when I see my account was charged not only for my dinner but someone elses! So I called, expecting to get my meal gratis as this is what my workplace does when they make such an error, but all I got was a Sorry, I don't know when the owner is in to fix it...today is such a bad time (christmas eve). Um, yeah! missing money in my account on christmas eve is a bad time for me too. sheesh! then the owner calls and leaves a voicemail that he will take that extra charge off. Gee, thanks. Way to go above and beyond. What a waste of money! Don't go if you want a nice dinner, or nice service- but if you love radicchio, go for it.

All' Angelo is truly a gem hidden amongst the chaos on Melrose Ave. The owner Stephano warmly greets every guest and promptly seats them. I recommend the classic Prosecco to start your night of true authenticity! The Chichetti menu is a must. The mushroom tortellini and cauliflower timbale are amazing, the trippe is sooo good it was voted the Best in Los Angeles! The servers are very active and concerned, and the wine list is out of this world! To end the night, after much indecisiveness, I ordered the panna cotta with Port sauce which was light, but also very rich tasting and delicious.

There was a recent addition of a prosecco/champagne lounge that is wonderful to sit at when you have arrived first in your party. The lounge menu offers a delightfully crispy fritto misto and big eyed tuna tartar dish that I highly reccommend. Needless to say, I will be returning to this restaurant frequently.

This restaurant has very authentic Italian dishes. I had the most incredible and delicious pasta and meat dishes that I have had in a while. I highly recommend the Lamb Ragout Pasta or the Buffalo Mozzarella Ravioli. I also would highly recommend the Cichetti menu. This menu offers Venetian style appetizers for a great price. This menu allows for you to try several different smaller Italian dishes. This menu is the perfect way to go out to an amazing high-end restaurant with out breaking the bank.
I went with a group of friends and we had memorable experience, but it would also be a perfect date spot. I would go back the All? Angelo in a second because of its amazing Italian dishes and an all around great experience.

after spending 3 weeks in Italy (tuscany to be exact), i've been really picky with my italian food. all'angelo, though, exceeded my expectations. i loved it! my lobster risotto was creamy and rich without being overbearing. i stayed far away from the tripe, which is pretty traditional, but my mom seemed to love it. the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, even though it's such a nice restaurant. i'm so glad i heard about this place.

From the moment we sat down, our dinner experience was phenomenal. We decided to go with a tasting menu, with I highly recommend because it's catered to the individual, which meant my friend who's basically a vegetarian was also given star treatment, something hard to find in this town. The wine list is superb, put together by the owner who recommended a beautiful Italian Pinot Nero to go with our dinner. Service was attentive, but not intrusive, and very knowledgable as well. Can't wait to go again.

I love this restaurant and I LOVE their new Cichetti menu!! They're Venetian-style appetizers and it's a great way to try out the food without committing to price of the actual menu. Although once you've tried it, you'll want to become a regualr. Dishes like the Marinated Wild Salmon Carpaccio, the Raddichio Lasagna (amazing!), and the Truffled Foie Gras Canape are all recommended, especially with their extensive wine list. Everything is authentic and delicious, and it all makes for an incredible, intimate-dining experience.

This restaurant is AMAZING! The food is the best Italian food in LA. You have to try it!!!!! I found the small restaurant a few months ago and ever since I am a regular! Everything from their pastas to their meats and fish is absolutely exquisite. Besides the food ? the ambiance is great and the service is perfect!

When my friend and I came to eat here we never expected that a little place like this to have such incredible food. The octopus carpaccio and mozzarella ravioli with fresh tomato sauce were unique, light and fresh. A good thing since our next courses, although a little heavy, were some of the most memorable things we have tasted in as long as we remember. The pork milinase dish, although simple, could not have been better and the spaghetti with sausage and truffles was so good we could not stop eating eat even though we were full. The service was good but the atmosphere and decor was a little bland. My only complaint would be that it was not as warm and friendly as a small place such as this should have been.

I recently saw that All' Angelo had made the top of the Esquire and Gayot Best New Restaurants list, so my expectations going into this place (I've never been) were very high. Fortunately I was not disappointed. The food was absolutely top-notch -- we shared the salumi, risotto, spaghetti alla chitarra, branzino and venison. The wine list was equally excellent. I dislike desserts, but I dug into my wife's panna cotta because it looked so good.

All in all, it was a pricey evening, but one well worth it. I will be back again, when that bonus comes!

I must disagree with many of the reviewers on this site. Last night I suffered through one of the worst dining experiences of my life. There were four of us-all very experienced diners. The service missteps were numerable and inexcusable and overshadowed the food. Two of asked to "share" appetizer and first course and then each ordered entree for ourselves. Waiter brought both the appetizer and first course at the same time-not split and plopped them down on the table. When I asked what he was doing, he replied, "Well, you said you were going to share". So I ate some of the first course while my husband ate some of the appetizer and then we switched plates. I have never had to do that and I've been eating out for a very long time. Often the waiter will ask if we want them to split it in the kitchen or will just bring out the dish and two plates so we can "share" on our own. Then they brought out the entrees-one was not what we ordered. Waitress took the dish back. No one came to the table-not the waiter, not the manager, no one-to find out why we were not eating and missing a plate. We called waiter, he said there had been a computer error and her dish would be out soon. No apology. Finally her dish came out. Ourse were cold by then but no apologies from waiter. Manager (owner?) came to table, apologized. Offered dessert and left. We refused the offer, ate, paid and left never to return.
I am writing this a few days later. The owner has called me and apologized. He was most gracious. I am willing to give it another try based on the quality of the food we did eat and the strength of the other reviewers.

Four of us enjoyed a Fabulous Tasting Menu last night.
Every Dish was perfect and the Wine Pairings were outstanding.
All Angelo is already near the top of Italian Food in LA and it's only been around for six months.
Nice Wine list also. Wait till you see the 1921 Meat Slicer? Absolutely fantastic!

This was a special place with Stefano Ongaro in the front and chef Mirko Paderno, both formerly with Valentino, in the kitchen. But Mirko left for the new Cecconi's and Stefano hired a new chef who doesn't have the same talent. In addition, due to the current economic situation he got rid of the linens, cut the staff in half, changed the menu and lowered prices. As a result, this once excellent restaurant is now average at best.

My husband and I recently had dinner there a few weeks ago, and we were very impressed. Here the food and wine are the star. We went all out, each ordering a multi-course dinner with wine. We started with a salumi plate filled with fresh-sliced meats off of the big slicer in the back. Proscuitto di Parma is always a favorite, but I recommend the speck and mortadella too.

For dinner, I absolutely loved my octopus carpaccio and cavatelli with scorpion fish and my husband raved over his venison (I had a bite, too - it was tender and surprisingly not gamey). For dessert we shared panna cotta, which was also wonderful. The owner suggested a few bottles of wine to go with our dinner, including a great Sauvignon Blanc from Umbria and an Italian Nebbiolo, both of which were under $50, which we appreciated.

Overall the service was attentive, friendly and well-paced. We didn't feel rushed at all, which is a pet peeve of mine. It was a fantastic evening, and my husband and I can't wait to come back.

All' Angelo is THE quintessential Italian restaurant for Los Angeles...It has been long over due! The atmosphere is warm, inviting and relaxing. The food is the best Italian in the city, unfussy and unpretentious simply, good. The service is first rate and they really seem to love what they are doing at All' Angelo. I highly recommend this place for a date, business dinner or getting together with friends.

I love All' Angelo?from its quaint dining room to its fantastic service and authentic Italian food?it is a must stop in Los Angeles! We have been there for both lunch and dinner and find that each time Chef Mirko Paderno only gets better. He is found slicing the wonderful aged meats nightly on the beautiful Italian Berkel slicer as owner Stefano Ongaro provides gracious wine service in the front of the house. The house-made sausages, "Aqua Pazza" fish, the warm Maine lobster salad and the lemon polenta bread pudding are by far my favorite!
We highly recommend this spot!

Great experience, would highly recommend this restaurant and hope they do well. Everything from the bread to wines to food (from appetizers to main course to dessert) show attention to detail and quality.
