Zero stars is more like it...
We went here Saturday night. The little Manager lady there (whom I'm told is actually the owner) was so incredibly rude to us, we walked out. I've never seen this kind of rudeness toward customers in all my life. Thank goodness we did walk out. Just 20 feet away was the best food I've ever tasted at LARSEN'S STEAKHOUSE. The service was incredible and the food was to die for.
A special note to the manager from Limon's: we went across and spent $300 at Larsen's. Not that it was expensive there, but we went all out and ordered tons of everything...I guess Limon's doesn't need customers or money. Thank you for your rudeness! We enjoyed our time at Larsen's sooooooo much!

On another note, just to let everyone know...I have no affiliation with Larsen's. I just couldn't believe how good everything was.
Thanks!
Kristi :)

This restaurant has the potential to be great but instead completely lacks the expertise to prepare great tasting latin food. Not even the basic latin foods are good here. The prices are too high for the food and drinks. Happy hour should

Cons: everything

Limon is a respectable restauraunt any night of the week, so don't let the title fool you. Excellent food, great service, and a fully stocked bar will make your meal memorable.

What makes Limon unique however, is its club atmosphere on Saturday nights. With an open floor, great DJs, and a beautiful crowd of people, Limon is where you want to be if you're in Simi.

I took my parents there for dinner one Friday night. It was bad all around. Service was just ok, food was either tasteless or way too salty. The dishes were way too pretentious. Too much going on, on the plate. Less is more I say. I'm a cook and the dishes have too many ingredients. I agree with the first review about the chips and sauce. IT'S NACHO CHEESE SAUCE! The fish was overcooked so it was a little mushy. The veggies were sitting out for a while, not cooked to order. The decor is awesome though. They should consider changing their menu to reflect maybe five regional dishes from five or six Latin countries, and keep them simple. I wouldn't go back and my parents asked not to take them their again. A big disappointment for all of us.

my friend and i happened to find this latin gem in simi valley on our way to shop. the restaurant was beautifully decorated and since it was a saturday they had a live band playing outside(very nice). we were seated promptly and our waiter was very helpful recommending drinks and entrees. the waiter brought out chips with salsa hummus; so yummy. the prices were not too outrageous. the drinks were very good(strong too LOL!) i ordered the tequila lime shrimp with pasta and my friend ordered the salmon caribbean(which came with garlic whipped potatoes and veggies). our waiter was very attentive and efficient(think he was the only waiter and the bartender; great job). the ambiance was very nice and on the weekends they have a club at night and on sundays they have brunch. my friend ordered the lobster mashed potatoes to go and we almost lost our minds when we tasted it....so good and tasty definitely have to order that. my dish was very good the tequila lime sauce was creamy and the shrimp was sauteed to perfection. my friend's salmon was juicy and moist inside and had a cripsy sweetness to it on the outside and sat on top on the potatoes(nice presentation). I WOULD DEFINTELY BE BACK TO LIMON AND I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TRYIN IT OUT. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: nice and quick sevice, willing to explain menu items, great food

Cons: no cons

4 of us tried Limon and 4 of us were disappointed. Bottom line, food was terrible and we'd never go back. You could tell they "tried" to pay more attention to the presentation then the taste of the food. When we finally received our correct order since the waitress messed up the first, we found the food tasteless and barely tolerable. The cheese sauce served with the chips was merely nacho cheese sauce, served cold. The chimichurri sauce was unlike all the other chimichurri sauces I've had. If they need a recipe on how to make one I'll glady send them mine, which is fantastic. The soltado was dry beef mixed with onions and I think something that appeared to be french fries mixed with it. It was the same beef used in the fajitas, which you could tell was beef that was previously cooked and then just mixed with the rest of the ingredients. The beef wasn't cooked to order. How do I know? For one it tasted like it, dry and not tender, also because the waitress messed up and brought chicken fajitas and when we told her it was supposed to be beef, she left and came back literally one minute later and the beef fajitas were magically made. If it was made to order it would have taken longer. The citrus rice tasted like it was made from a box, except more bland, no taste at all. The mashed potatoes were overly salted and could not be enjoyed. Don't bother taking children as there is no childrens menu. The table next to us struggled to order something for their little boy. It's all adult tastes on the menu. We should have known not to eat there since there were only two tables being occupied and it was dinner time. I'll give them props for their effort but they need a new chef. The food should be made for the mouth and palate, not the eyes. Spend less time trying to make the plate look pretty and more time on flavor using fresh food, made to order. Spend the money on the chef and food and not the expensive decor. It could be a great place if the food is changed.
