This cafe is located in a funky old part of seaside, but it's got a unique look to it. The make a good cup of coffee and offer decent entertainment once in a while.

I first "discovered" this place about 9 months ago, tucked away into a quiet corner of Sand City. What first caught my eye (and affection) was the eclectic furniture (nothing matches! :) and even more eclectic clientele. A mom over here with her kids, a guy over here strumming the guitar, an older couple drinking wine. Everything in the place, from customers, to food, to the art on the walls and decor, to the employees, was truly original and a breath of fresh air from the "sameness" that pervades everywhere else.

Unfortunately, things seemed to have changed a bit. The menu is not quite so unpretentious anymore, nor are the customers. Sometimes I walk in and feel like I've entered a business convention center rather than a local hang out. But all in all, it's a unique experience, and one of my favorite places to just sit back with the husband and kids, or alone (a rarity!) and sip coffee.

From the fresh (and I mean fresh!) juices and salads, to the cappuccino art.. and the cappuccino itself, this is a great place to be.

Just don't tell too many people, since parking is a bit of a problem, as is seating.

Pros: good, natural, local food. Wonderful coffee and juices

Cons: a bit pricey, but what isn;t these days? Not enough parking or seating. Piercings and tats have been replaced with suits and ties.

Best Place in Seaside. This was the third time I've been at this restaurant and they did not disappoint. If you go during the day its likely you'll have to order your meal at the counter, take a seat and be served. On this particular visit we arrived about an hour before service was over and were directed to have a seat and told we would be waited on. Already I was impressed. The waitress followed to the seats we preferred to sit at (next to the inside heater) and she served us water then took our drink order. Soon we had our drinks and we ordering our meals. I ordered the Portobello mushroom Panini with pesto no cheese (vegan) with a side of fries. My husband ordered the burger with fries and the fries artichoke hearts with side of ranch. The artichokes were out first and they were delicious, crunchy and not soggy or oily. They never disappoint here with the hearts. I also love that they serve Pepper Plant hot sauce. YUMMY. Our food was great too!!! And the service was AWESOME. The waitress refilled our ranch, Yeah! And gave us a sample of a Mexican beer on Tap. She also offered to give us some ranch to go. Oh yeah did I mention they also have a bar. Try the beer from Mexico with the honey infusion its great!!!! This place is so good. They also are proactive and environmentally conscious.

We happened upon this place for the first time a few days ago. I hesitate to recommend the cafe, as I'm afraid there won't be any place to sit next time I go in! It's in a revitalized area of Seaside, in a refurbished warehouse space. There's a fantastic seating area, with unique chairs, benches, and tables where you can enjoy a coffee drink form their espresso bar (which served me the best latte I've had in YEARS!). Or, you can sidle up to the wine and beer bar, and enjoy an adult beverage. There are also tables and chairs, perfect for dining, studying, or writing a novel. They serve sandwiches and burgers, which look and smell divine, and have a full calendar of things to do weekly--live music, board game night, lit readings, Wii nights, you name it! They've considerately placed patio heaters throughout the sitting area, as it tends to be a bit chilly. They even offer a discount if you ride your bike there! There's nothing like it in Marina/Seaside/Sand City. It's not a stuffy, pretentious coffee house--it's welcoming to all, and I highly recommend checking it out.
