Great rustic breakfast with a healthy edge with their fresh and homemade foods. Toast is thick and delicious with butter and jam and goes great with their house-made corned beef hash. Have had lunch there to and the Salmon salad was excellent although for some reason I did not like any of their dressings. Big shaded outdoor area for eating on the patio and minimalist dim cool seating inside. Service adequate.

This place has good breakfasts - tasty walnut bread instead of regular toast and country potatoes instead of regular hashbrowns. It is a little bit upscale but the prices are reasonable.

BRUNCH REVIEW:
I've had dinner here several times, and it's always been great food with great atmosphere- especially since they've expanded into the bar next door. Their meat dishes are delicious and just about everything we've ordered has been great ... BUT ... based on these prior experiences we recommended M&A's for our family's brunch last Sunday with 7 of us celebrating my husband's birthday. Everything started off well enough, unfortunately, our waiter all but disappeared after the drinks arrived. My tea had two ice cubes which melted almost immediately, and I tried for at least 15 minutes to get our French-accented waiter's attention only to be continually ignored. Another server finally overheard me and brought a glass of ice. Once our meals arrived, the waiter was again AWOL, and we had a major issue with our corned beef hash- there was hardly any ACTUAL corned beef in the dish!! Maybe a fleck, maybe two, but not nearly enough to justify such its grand description on the menu. It was glorified hashbrowns, at best.

Needless to say, my South Boston Irish father-in-law was outraged told the waiter so once the guy the reappeared (at the very end of the meal). Our complaint was met with a half-hearted apology and a promise that the "chef has been informed," and although this could have been easily remedied by removing the item from our bill (or at the very least comping a dessert for my husband's birthday) the server did nothing to make things right. The item remained on the bill -- and no one even bothered to wish us a Happy Birthday.

Overall, just a terrible experience! The service stunk, lunch was average, and the menu misleading. Really crappy job Mike and Anne's, unless you step it up and take better care of your customers we won't be returning.

Pros: Some dishes are tasty, others plain bad

Cons: Misrepresented some items on menu, crappy service and non-caring staff
