To be consistent with the other reviews the Customer Service was terrible. Not only will I never eat there again but the old saying of if one person has a bad experience and then they tell 10 others - well!\r

When someone told me that there was a great place for breakfast at the camp in Costa Mesa, I was a little skeptical. When I had driven by in the past I had assumed it was some kind of tree hugger hang out. I thought that I was going to this place so that I could tell my friend that he obviously has horrible taste in breakfast establishments and that he should just stick to Denny's and keep his mouth shut. I was wrong.

The place is hidden, and its tiny, BUT it is DELICIOUS. I had their pumpkin pecan brioche french toast and I've got to admit it was freakin amazing. I have seen other reviews of this same french toast in which the reviewer was quite dissapointed. He was dissapointed because he doesn't know what he is talking about. Iam a sucker for great french toast and they delivered. Their coffee was pretty good too.

Service was ok. Coffee was good. Food was great.

I have now dined at Old Vine for breakfast, lunch & dinner and there is no other spot in OC that serves all three this well. The Open Face breakfast sandwich is one of the best I have had, the Beef and Truffle panino is do die for, and the tasting menus at dinner are a great deal! The best part of the whole place is the service. It is casual without being pretentious. Five stars, for sure.

I have to agree with the "terrible service" review again. I'm guessing that things go well enough most of the time, but from the various reviews out there, it really seems like these bad experiences happen pretty frequently...

In my case, I didn't even get to the food because the person who was seating people was so rude to us (telling us twice in a catty and accusatory fashion that he had called our name many times when his own staff had messed up). After I told him that it was his own staff's fault, he told us that if we didn't like it, we should go somewhere else. I accepted his advice, and did not eat there, nor will I ever. The food doesn't even look that good anyway.

Normally, I don't write these reviews. Instead, I call the place and find the person who cares about the customer service. In this case, however, I found out that the rude person was the owner, Brandon. Surprising that an owner would treat customers so poorly.

In sum, if you care about customer service, there are many better options.

I finally stopped into Old Vine for some small plates and wine. First of all, the space is quaint and the staff is welcoming. While the food and wine is top notch, the attitude is down to earth, which is nice. My husband and I got a couple of plates (yes, we did get the mac and cheese) and then paired it with the suggested wine. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the red they paired with the mac, it went perfectly with the food. These guys really know what they are doing. I cannot wait to go back.

Such a cute little cafe to have a long leisurely lunch. Every time I go I have to get the Mac and cheese with a glass of their Old Vine red wine. It's so rich and yummy, I can never stray away and order anything else.

My company used Old Vine for an event and we were very pleased! They kept the food fresh, hot, and delicious. There was enough for all of our guests and they all left happy.

This is the coolest and most delicious restaurant I've been to in OC in years. It's intimate without being crowded, hip without being pretentious and the food is legitimately wonderful. You can taste the fresh ingredients in everything and the original spin the chef puts on classics like mac and cheese and paninis are really cool. I'm going to go back once a week until I've tried everything on the menu.

I came with a business client hoping for a classy and unique dinner experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling embarrassed to have taken him here. The service is borderline rude and absentee and starts off with a pitch for the tasting menu that is reminiscent of a used-car salesman in how aggressively it is promoted.

Rather than describe the menu's ingredients and flavors, our waiter went on and on about it being the best value (perhaps attempting to counter the fact that it is also the most expensive at $ 60 per person) and how they pour you more wine than in their regular glasses, etc. etc. Then he set off to repeat the same aggressive pitch to every table around us, so we heard it several more times. It immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a night of tacky and amateurish service in a TINY place that is more reminiscent of a stuffy closet than a restaurant. I had looked at the website and assumed the decor would be interesting and the service attentive, but I was sorely disappointed. The place was cramped and bland and, though the food looked good on paper, the preparation was sub-par to say the least. This place was regrettable through and through.

The Old Vine Cafe is truly a Local's Cafe. The day begins with absolutely the best breakfast in town. Their lunch experience features a collection of fine casual recipes in a friedly atmosphere with excellent beers and wines. Dinner is intimate with a personal touch and a cuisine not matched by many restaurants in the OC.

But the wines are absolutly outstanding. General Manager Brandon takes great effort to stock only delicious wine selections from around the world. With only a modest mark-up, he allows everyone to taste and appreciate wines that would normally be out of reach cost wise for most diners. He also sells all of his wines right there at the reastaurant. Also, try the Monday wine and cheese tasting. The best I have ever had.

Old Vine Cafe is a must for all who love fine cuisine and appreciate the personal touch in service, selection, and dining pleasure.
