Sharon has been cutting my hair for ten years. She does cut and color every time. I adore her. She is smart and fun and I love going to see her because she is so good at balancing creativity (she's a genius with hair) and pragmatics (I have never been shocked, but I have never been bored, either).
She knew what to do with my hair when I played professional volleyball. And, as I transformed myself into a corporate marketing type, Sharon knew how to transform my look to reflect who I was changing into. I think one of the hardest things in life is to envision who we want to be and where we are going. So many times, Sharon has been able to help me envision the change I want to make before I'm able to articulate it.
Also, haircut bonus: Sharon is super interesting and insightful and I love talking with her while she's doing my hair.
I followed Ryan to Forme when he left his last salon. He's been cutting my hair for five years and he's fantastic! I don't even tell him what to do, I just sit in his chair and let him work his magic. The salon itself is lovely--clean, relaxing, and everyone is super nice. I can't recommend it (and Ryan!) highly enough.
Adena, my stylist at Forme Salon makes me look beautifu! I came to her with a mess. I hadn't cut my hair in years. As I've gotten older my hair has become dry, frizzy and half curly. Adena talked with me, assessed my hair needs and developed a hair style that is fun, sexy and that I can manage. I love my hair. Thank you Adena.
Stephanie, the aesthetician, is awesome. I was actually told by three different men that I have perfect eyebrows. What man notices perfect eyebrows? Her brazilian wax is as painless as a bikini wax can be. I was recently engaged, and I swear her super smooth bikini waxes had something to do with it. My skin was glowing after one of her mini-facials. I can't wait to try the full one hour facial. I feel totally at ease with her, even when she is waxing "down there." Thanks Stephanie! My fiance thanks you too!
Pros: I have perfect eyebrows
Cons: terminally addicted to her facials
Sharla is now my new earth angel. For over 30 years, I have been highlighting my hair. Several people recommended Sharla to me over the years, so I finally tried her for full highlights, a 2-inch cut and restyle, along with a new style. Without exaggeration, all three were the best I've ever had. She listened to my needs and wishes for my hair; she took her time and never rushed; she knew what she was doing; and she was kind, respectful, professional, and had a great sense of humor, too. I don't mind someone being a perfectionist when it comes to my hair.
I now have a new home and stylist for my hair needs. I watched her styling others' hair while I was there and could tell that they were also happy with her work. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants the best hair work at a reasonable price, in a stellar location, and in an uncluttered and relaxing salon. Sharla is the best!
Pros: Great location and relaxing ambiance
lynette took me from Brentwood house wife, to a house wife with an edge, and i have never looked back. My hair color is always the perfect blonde and the haircuts are never the same twice. She has been doing my hair for over 12 years and i always leave the salon feeling wonderful. The salon has a staff that makes me feel relaxed and Lynette's assistants always take care of me. Stephanie does my waxing.
Lynette is one of the owner's of Forme salon which is modern and calm. Good going Lynette see you in four weeks for another great color.
I love Forme Salon. I've been going there for about a year and half now. It was hard to find a salon when I first moved to LA that fit my budget, schedule, and location, but this salon provides all 3--and, the best service to boot! The salon itself is has very clean lines, with a modern edge and humble atmosphere. You really feel relaxed when you're there. And there's definitely no attitude, which I've experienced at other salons in the area. I would highly recommend Cynthia. She's only a level 1 stylist, but that means nothing in terms of the quality she performs on your hair! She's really sweet, welcoming, and honestly cares about making your hair look and feel the way you want it to. I've loved my hair each time I've had her do it, and her schedule has always been very accomodating. I have nothing bad to say about this place!
Pros: great service & very easy going
It was by coincidence that I happened to stumble on this salon when I was in Santa Monica. Its a cute modern salon on Santa Monica Blvd (near 3rd street promenade). The salon actually takes walk ins and has an esthetician as well!!! There is one particular stylist that cut my hair, Nicole. She is very friendly and professional. I have been back to her ever since. She takes the time to listen to my particular needs and she has exceeded my expectations everytime. In general, the salon is easy going and friendly. I feel very comfortable there. I would reccomend Nicole and this salon to everyone.
I had frequented several salons in the Santa Monica & Venice areas for years, Forme is by far the best I've been to. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. I've never had a place where each time my haircut has come out perfect. If you have the chance ask for NADA, but I'm sure they have a roster of talented stylists. I'm very fickle with my hair and thought I would let people know that Forme is definitely a place to go.
I was in the Santa Monica area searching for a salon. Forme was recommended by a fellow swimmer.
I walked in and was greeted with a smile and a true concern for my concerns. I asked to speak with a stylist who could just give me an idea of what to do with the terrible haircut I had received about 3 weeks prior. Ryan was referred to me and he sat down with me to discuss the present situation of my hair..expecting recommendations only, he asked if he could snip my hair a bit here and there..he basically cleaned up my disaster and wouldn't accept any compensation...He know has a client once my hair is long enough to trim and color...he was just great..Thanks Ryan, I will recommend you to others! And I will be back!
Forme salon is one of the best salons that I have been to. The salon creates a very classy ambiance with a very courteous staff. My hair dresser Nada Vue always performs a very percise creation with my hair. I do not trust just any hair dresser with my hair but she throughly understands my wants and incorporates that with her creativity and I always receive praises for how wonderful my hair looks. I can only say so much you have to try it to beleive it.
Forme salon has a GREAT, casual atmosphere with very professional people. Both men and women alike will enjoy great cuts and color. My hair is VERY fine and I'm really picky about who cuts it. All the stylists at Forme are experienced, well-trained and collaborate well with each other. Ixie is an absolute miracle worker, but you also can't go wrong with any other stylist there. They even take walk-ins and it's in a great location near Santa Monica Library. You'll never go anywhere else after you visit Forme Salon! Oh, and the waxing and massages are great too!
Pros: Parking in back, good hours, great atmosphere, very friendly
I created an account on Citysearch just to write this review. I recently moved to Encino, CA from Iowa City, IA. One of my major priorities was to find a hair stylist/colorist around the area, as soon as possible. I began my Citysearch for salons in Santa Monica because although I don't live there, I start work in August at UCLA-Santa Monica. will be around that area a lot. During the search, I came across this wonderful salon, Forme. It received excellent reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. I was nervous, though. I planned to start fresh with a whole new cut and color. Looking at different hair styles in magazines, I decided on a shoulder-length bob and a darker hair color. This new cut would require 8 inches gone! I hoped I chose the right place to receive this new haircut. My friend and I both made appointments for the same time, but with different stylists. I forgot the name of her stylist, but my stylist's name was Doreen. The one thing I loved about this place was that you can chose stylists from level I to level IV, or owners. Being a poor post-college graduate who hasn't started work yet and just moved to one of the most expensive parts of the country, I couldn't spend too much on my hair at the moment. Well, I must say, the moment I met Doreen, I felt completely at ease! I immediately trusted her with my hair. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the salon and friendliness of the staff. I never felt rushed during the whole process. Doreen actually listened to what I wanted and let's just say I got EXACTLY what I wanted. I will go as far to say that this was the best haircut and color I have ever received. Thanks, Doreen...I will see you in about six weeks for a trim and color touch-up!!
By the way, my friend was very please with her haircut and color as well. We will definitely be returning customers :)
If you happen to find yourself in the Santa Monica area and are in need of a hair cut do yourself a favor and go check this place out. Ryan Lewis, a master of sheers and comb, cut my hair to a wonderful perfection. Thanks Ryan for a great cut and lifting my day and look to a hole new level.
I have nothing but great things to say about Ixie and forme salon. I would (and do) recommend them to all of my friends. I have never experienced a more professional and relaxing salon experience. Forme is a fabulous top-notch boutique salon, something you would hope to find in Beverly Hills...but without the BH prices. The staff always greet me with the warmest welcome. They never forget my name; they offer me cookies and tea or will hand me a book full of menus and even order me dinner when I come dragging in after a long hard day. I always get the best scalp massage before my cut and long enough that I usually doze off into a peaceful sleep. Ixie is LA's BEST colorist and stylist - there is truly no one quite like her. She is extremely talented, always prompt, stylish, up-to-date on the latest trends, funny, and makes me feel like a princess when I leave her salon. I recently started going to see Stephanie for my bikini wax - and I love her. I used to go to someone that I thought was the best ever, and it was initially hard to make the change but Stephanie has proven to be a complete pro. She never makes me feel uncomfortable and her bikini wax is about as painless as you can get when someone is ripping your hair out! I would recommend forme salon hands-down, without reservation. Give them a try - you will NOT be disappointed!
Pros: Great ambience, excellant service, parking convenient, great hours
Forme Salon is awesome! Ixie, one of the owners, cuts and colors my hair. She is great at what she does. Especially with my color! And you can always count on getting a great, stylish hair cut. The staff is extremely friendly! Always greets me with a warm welcome. You don't feel that typical "we are too cool for you" vibe that you often experience in other LA salons. And this salon is in one of the trendiest areas of LA...Santa Monica. I've also had a few of the assistants who were in training, cut and color my hair (of course with a more experienced stylist watching) and they've all done a great job. The salon has an extensive training program for those who want to be a great hair stylist. The assistants aren't on their own on the floor until they've proven to be ready. And that gives me great confidence in this salon. I highly recommend Forme Salon!
I have been coming to Forme since it opened last year, and I have nothing but good to say about it. Ok, maybe parking could be better, but, this is LA for Pete's sake!
When I come out of the salon, my hair always looks better and feels healthier! Thanks for giving me the confidence I needed about my newfound style!
I recently got a bikini wax, and I have to say that it was as close to painless as one can possibly get. Honestly! And FAST!
To sum it up....high profile, low key, and off the charts service--thanks Forme!
Pros: Skill level of stylists
Cons: maybe parking? Can't really think of any cons....
I went to Forme a couple of weeks ago for a 55 minute facial with Stephanie, and it was awesome! Stephanie was very thorough, knowledgeable and professional - and my skin shone afterwards. She did a fabulous job with my difficult skin and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The spa rooms are well-appointed and very relaxing, and I felt totally pampered. I was very impressed with the salon's design and the front desk personnel were nice and accomodating. I really enjoyed my experience.
I came to forme salon for the first time when I was looking for a good place to do the hair & makeup for my wedding. I loved the collaborative atmosphere - the stylists are not only amazing at what they do, they really take the time to learn from each other and have fun. I had my hair cut and styled at the salon first, and was so impressed that I booked for my whole wedding party. The salon offers a range of prices, which my bridesmaids really appreciated. Planning was really easy - forme handled the logistics of getting everyone scheduled and I had a great time at my hair & makeup trial. On the day of the wedding, the salon staff made all of us feel so welcome. It was like a relaxing, fun party! Everyone loved the look they got - not something I can say for every wedding I have been in! As for me, Nicole and Charla really created the hairstyle and makeup that I was dreaming of. I would recommend forme for any formal occasion!
A stone's throw from the 3rd Street Promenade and just off the 10 fwy in the heart of the city, Forme (Salon & Spa) is Santa Monica's best-kept secret (for now). This place is a little bit of serenity - just waiting to transport you out of the hustle and bustle of your daily life. Owned and operated by three of the area's best stylists who traded in their gigs working for other folks and built something new - utilizing all their knowledge and talents, and paying close attention to every detail and every amenity. Seriously. They've left nothing to chance. The waiting area is comfy and they have refreshments available right there for you.
From the moment you walk in the door - everything about Forme is set up to help melt away the stress and worry of your day, your week, and let you just relax into a bit of pampering - and take some time out to be refreshed, renewed, revived... and beautified. There's a full-service spa set up for facials, waxing and massage, and - a variety of highly skilled stylists to choose from. Ixie (one of the owners) has been my stylist for years - she's absolutely gifted - to the point where I can walk in, sit down and just say "do what you want" and know that I'm going to walk out of there looking great (and that's been the case since my very first visit). She's got such versatility...with color, cut, etc. if I want a look that's edge-y or rockstar, she can do that, if I need something more subdued or just care-free, that's simple too. Whatever the case, she always helps me out by making my hairstyle easy to re-create on my own, and she never tries to sell me product or services I don't need or want!
Best part: the prices are totally reasonable (especially when you consider what you get for the money!)... and Forme is an attitude-free zone...customer service is WONDERFUL. All of the staff is friendly, warm, engaging & real - without any of that over-the top syrupy sweetness or pretension (which I hate).
Pros: ample parking on the street or public lots for 3rd Street nearby
Cons: so many great services to choose from, I could waste the day away!!!
Loooove this place! Great environment, great location and great cuts. My stylist is Natalie Perez (used to be at Kenneth George) and she rocks. After my new do I got compliments all day everywhere I went.
Pros: cuts, atmos, service, parking
Cons: none so far
I've researched hundreds of LA hair salons on citysearch and i'm so happy i found forme! Honestly, the pricing system is what initially attracted me. The fact that they offer different prices based on experience is terrific. I opted for a level 1 with Deirdre (spell?) because yes, i'm a poor college girl, and the cost of hair in la is ridiculous. A level 1 cut and color was $160.00 and that's the cheapest I found on citysearch (excluding dingy/hole in the wall places). I seriously needed a cut and color and I HATE going to salons where they promise me excellence and I leave with mediocre hair and a huge bill. I was hesitant trying this place out because i didn't want yet another hair disappointment, but i'm so happy i went! The place has great ambiance, high ceilings with simple and modern decor. Deirdre listened to what I wanted, and i can honestly say that the bumble and bumble hair products sell themselves! I NEVER buy products because personally i think it's a waste of money and i never end up using them, but i bought the leave in conditioner and the brilliantine shine/polish <----smells AMAZING. Deirdre keeps a card with the exact formula of color she uses on your hair so she can reference it for the next time, which guarantees you satisfaction every time! I'm very picky about the shade of blonde I want in my hair, as well as the cut because my hair is naturally wavy and difficult to manage sometimes, but deirdre got it dead on. That doesn't mean that I didn't have to communicate what i wanted to her (i think thats the main reason why clients leave unhappy-that or the stylist didn't listen), but deirdre LISTENED. I left smiling and feeling great and the money was definitely well worth it! also parking was easy because they have a lot.
Pros: parking, great products, POLITE hairdressers, AMAZING SHAMPOO GIRL
I had the pleasure of spending 2(?) hours with Sharla Baker (excuse the same last name) recently. I went in looking brassy and shaggy. She did her magic! Took her time to weigh the different colors/techniques/cuts which would transform my 60 years into a lighter and more "with it" woman. Unlike stylists who just use one color all over the head she took the time to match my various natural shades with "new colors" to create an over all the head VERY COOL and BEAUTIFUL color with highlights and lowlights which seem to have done something to my face which takes away 10 years!!!
Great Salon! All were friendly!!!
I love going to Forme Salon, Lynette has been cutting my hair for many years. Lynette always keeps me up to date with my hair. She now owns forme salon with two other wonderful woman. Her staff makes me feel welcome and i always look forward to getting my hair cut, the girls who wash my hair have magic fingers, it is so relaxing. If you are looking for a hairdresser who has amazing talent go see Lynette.
When you first walk through the doors of Forme Salon, there is a welcoming and friendly greeting. The atmosphere is very cool but not intimidating, friendly with a great sense of calm and comfort. Ixie has been my stylist for several years and I am always pleased with what she does with my hair. She will always ask what I have in mind but because I trust her sense of style and input, I always ask for her opinion. In the past, I've had experiences at other salons where I had tried to convey what I wanted done and I would end up with a hair style I did not like. I have never had this experience with Ixie. I am always completely satisfied.
Sharla Baker is unrivalled in color and updos. I have been highlighting my hair with her for about 8 years--she is truly a perfectionist (as am I) and I have had nothing but complements for all of those years. Her updos have become incredible--I have her do them for every event I attend. As an added bonus, she is super organized, friendly and punctual. She is without a doubt the best "hair" person I have ever found. I cannot say enough!!!
Sharon Vidal has been doing my color and highlights for years now, I have been DARK , gone LIGHT , and she has always picked great colors , and helped me decide on what would be a good change as well as placed highlights in great places (depending on my mood, if I wanted them natural or big )
Through the years she has also managed to keep my hair feeling good through all the changes , I appreciate that. Sharon is awesome , I highly recomend her.
Pros: parking, tip on credit card, sharon orders me dinner
You know that if i'm taking the time to actually write a review of something, it's THAT GOOD. I am a loyal patron of stylist Sharla Baker at Forme Salon, and have been for more than 5 years. After a recent move, I currently reside more than 40 minutes from Forme Salon, but keep on going back. She's THAT GOOD. I'm no expert on style (or Form(e) for that matter), but what I do know is that she does a consistently quality job cutting my hair. And I don't have one of those easy heads of hair. I've got a thick, out of control, looks like a goddang wolfman after 4 weeks head of hair. But somehow she tames it, thins it, shapes it, and finesses it to make me look like a rockstar time and time again. She's THAT GOOD. I know that she also sends her scissors to Japan for a scissor-master or something to sharpen, so she takes this stuff seriously. The salon, born out of the entreprenurial flight of all of Kenneth George Salon's top stylists, is clean and edgy, and they want your business so no snobby attitudes, which is a nice change. OVERALL 5-STAR SERVICE.
Pros: Service, attitude, ambiance
Love it, love it, love it and I especially love Ixie a co-owner of the salon. My daughter and I have been driving from San Diego for the past 7 years for Ixie's great haircuts; you can imagine my delight when she decided to strike out on her own and open Forme. It's everything I've come to expect over the last 12 years. Besides the great service the salon is hip and fresh, with great refreshments and no attitude.
I went to Forme Salon a few months ago and was blown away by my experience. Their reception staff was very friendly in their greeting and offered me coffee, tea and oreo cookies! What better way to start off my two hour hair appointment than with oreo cookies! My appointment was with one of the owners of the salon and she was enthusiastic and well prepared with my color and cut. I told her ahead of time what I was looking for and she did not disappoint. I can honestly say that I walked out of that salon looking like a million bucks without having to pay a million bucks. Thank you Forme Salon for opening up in a great location with an amazingly talented staff and friendly employees. I hope you're around for years to come!
Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, Experience, Location
If you want the perfect cut, color and style you MUST go see Ryan. He really knows what's best for your hair. He knows what the latest styles are and the best products to use. I have never been disappointed with any cut or color he does for me. I have told all my friends to go to him and they just love him and his work. If you are looking for your dream hair dresser look no further. Forme Salon, Ryan Lewis I promise you won't be let down.
Pros: Parking in back, juice, water and cookies
Bored with your hair? Need a new look? Tired of your hair-stylist? Well, look no further - FORME is what you need. What do you do when your hair-stylist leaves their old salon...you follow them, which is exactly what I did. After 7 years of devotion to my amazing hair-stylist, she and her partners have finally opened their own salon...and it's the best place in town. Why should you believe me? Because I am incredibly picky, didn't trust anyone with my limp hair for years, have been consistently happy with the results, and I wouldn't pay for just any old cut and color. Not to mention the ambiance (yes, that matters to me) - modern and chic with a throw-back to retro, without the usual LA attitude. What a treat!
Pros: One of the few salons in town that still takes the "shampoo head massage" seriously.
Cons: They should have opened years ago!
I was an actress in L.A. and use to getting awesome haircuts. Then I had 3 kids, became a stay at home
mom and had to cut the budget. I tried some of the cheaper chain salons, and after living with their cut,
remembered why I had been willing to pay for expensive haircuts when I had the money. I needed to cut the
budget but still wanted to look good. I found that 'forme' had an educational program. They train students
to cut, color and style hair, but are always overseen by the expert educators that work at forme. I made an
appointment with Cynthia. She greeted me with a hug and was so warm and friendly. She gave me the cut and highlight I wanted. Cynthia's smile and personality made the time go by fast. She always had an educator checking on her choices of color, or checking to see if the angle of her cutting was the best angle for the type of look I was going for. She was great. I would highly recommend forme and their education night for anyone on a budget who doesn't mind spending a little more time at the salon getting pampered, in exchange for a professional haircut and color. Oh, and by the way, coming from an artist, you have to go in and see how cute they've decorated the salon. Thier price is only $10.00 for a cut and $15.00 for a color/highlight.
Amazing Service, Great Staff! FORME all around is a great salon. Sara the receptionist is friendly and great help. The service is always suburb. The owners are great friends and exceed your expectations. The salon is modern yet comfortable. I've been seeing Natalie for about 5 years now and let me tell you she is amazing. She always knows what i want and delievers her best! She is the best when it comes to curly hair, she herself has curly locks. Everytime I leave her chair I feel like a new person. She can really make you feel like a million bucks!! All of my friends go to her,I keep her cards in my wallet she is worth every penny! Check it out, great people, great environment, great stylists!
Pros: TWO THUMBS UP!!!!
ive lived in santa monica for 20 years now and i never knew this salon existed... it must have appeared out of thin air i swear! i wandered in yesterday (sunday) and was completely taken back! The girl at the front desk sharlette gave me tour of the salon and let me drink coffe and eat cookies for free! I didnt make a reservation yet because i cant afford it right now but as soon as i can i cant wait to get my hair done.
Pros: great customer service!!!
Cons: no price list to take with me
From the looks of the last review someone has already discovered the West Side's best kept secret. STEPHANIE! She is the best all around to take care of all of your facial and waxing needs.
With facials she covers every pore, getting you the beautiful skin you have always wanted. I became a believer a couple of years ago when I was experiencing adult acne for the first time. Having had perfect skin for a lifetime before this, I was in a panic. This is when I discovered Stephanie and she found me the right products to use and gave me regular facials until my skin was back to normal. Now I get compliments on my skin everyday!
In the waxing department, the girl has skills. She takes her time to ensure your brows are perfectly sculpted. I never feel rushed like some places that work factory style. For other more sensitive areas, she is as speedy and pain free as possible.
So, if you want to have all your skin care needs taken care of, see Stephanie. She is great and as an added bonus, she is super fun too.
Havinging previously gone to aesthetician Stephanie at a prior salon for eyebrow waxing and shaping, I finally let her tackle my much ignored skin. Why hadn't I done this years ago? Because I hadn't found Stephanie. Not only is she artistic and detailed in eyebrows, she is the facialist queen. My skin looks and feels amazing. I now see her every three weeks, and I am complimented on my complection regularly. I had no idea what a difference a truly excellent facial could make. I've had facials in the past with different aestheticians at different salons, but never wanted to return a second or third time. She is comprehensive with extractions and really inspects and treats your skin to note your individual needs--all of this while pampering you at the same time. Her work is both therapeutic and artistic. Part of me didn't want to write this review for fear that Stephanie would become overbooked and difficult to see, but she's too talented to keep as a selfish secret. I will definitely be a regular.
Pros: Clean, ultra mod salon with wonderful staff
Cons: I have to work to support my Forme addiction
I've been going to Jennifer for about 4 years now- and she is fantastic (if not a little busy, due to how awesome she is)!! My main concern with getting highlights is that the hairdresser really blend the color well and take the time to put in as many foils as it takes to make your hair look naturally awesome-- not the stripey elimadate effect. Even for a partial, Jennifer really takes her time, adds hi-lights and low-lights-- so your hair has depth and shine-- who needs Ken Paves?!? She's made many of the men in my life look much cooler with new haircuts as well. Now all of my friends go to her or one of the other stylists at forme. They've all worked together for a really long time and it's a fun environment-- if only they'd serve champagne! Then it would be perfect. If you can't get in with Jennifer- make an appt. with Ryan, the very cute (and straight!) stylist. Love this place!
Pros: Parking!! Juice and Coffee, Excellent cut and color
Cons: Ain't cheap! But it's quality!
I found Forme on Citysearch and decided to give it a try because my hair needed fixing...FAST! Since I didnt know anyone there, I asked for Doreen after reading about her here...and I am glad I did! She took the time to ask me questions about my hair, how much time I spend on it, what I am comfortabel with. This girl really knows her stuff! That really made me comfortable. She also took the time to teach me how to style my hair so I dont look like a poodle after I wash it and so it continues to look nice. I am glad I went to Forme and I am surely asking for Doreen again!
Thank god for Ixie and the Forme salon!!! I had horrible hair trauma (bad cut and color). I was so scared to try anyone else but would burst into tears when looking in the mirror. I began to look around at work and try to spot someone with amazing hair. Finally, I ran into someone who told me about Ixie. I made an apt, sat in the chair and literally....just said....HELP! I had hoped to just look better than I had walking in the door, but I walked out feeling and looking fabulous. In the weeks since the appointment my hair still looks great. Even when I style it myself, it looks rather amazing which i think speaks to an amazing cut.
The new salon is going to ROCK!!!! Everyone that walks out, regardless of who their stylist is - looks fantastic. The staff is all friendly and professional. They have tons of good magazines and coffee (a salon essential for me). The prices are afffordable and worth every cent! I really feel like I've done something nice for me when I leave. And, if you plan my day/evening well I can even make a quick stop at the Promenade which is just two blocks away.
Thank you Ixie and team, I don't know where I'd be without you.
Pros: Everything! You can't go wrong
FORME Salon & Spa is the best new place to be pampered in Santa Monica! I recently got my hair cut, colored, styled, and even squeezed in a bikini wax. Jeannie works wonders with the scissors and comb. And Stephanie is the best aesthetician. The salon itself is gorgeous and modern, amazing customer service, and free parking to boot!
Pros: Ambience, Friendly Staff, Free Parking, Great Music
I am not the type of person who has ever spent money on my hair and I'm sure it showed. However, I went to Forme on a friend's recommendation and I am hooked. I was initially intimidated because I've never been to a nice salon for a haircut but the girls at the front desk were extremely friendly (and not bad looking either!) The atmosphere and personalities in this place alone are worth the price of a men's haircut (which I hear is actually very reasonable). I went to Jennifer who is AWESOME! It was like hanging out with an old friend except she also gave me a great haircut. I needed a professional haircut for my new job but not too boring. She nailed it! I didn't want to leave when it was over. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT PLACE! I highly recommend checking it out.
Pros: Awesome Atmosphere, Friendly People and Very Professional, Head Massage!!!
Cons: I don't need a haircut more often
I was recently in LA and had my eyebrows shaped by Stephanie at Forme. She was wonderful and my eyebrows are absolutly perfect! Stephanie is a Brow Godess!!!
I found out last minute that I was going to be hitting the with Jani Lane from Warrant, I had played drums for Warrant 3 years ago. I looked in the mirror 3 years later and saw all the grey hair! I the web via city search and came across some reviews on the Forme Salon and thought I would give it a shot. With the pressure of trying to get all my ducks in a row for this tour I made the call and the Forme staff were very accomidating to my schedule and Ixie one of the Hairstylist's had came in early to get me some color back into my grey's. So with that out of the way I am off to bring the ROCK to all the kids across the America's! Forme really made it happen! Please do yourself a favor come in and ENJOY Forme Salon!
Walked in , did not know it was in the neighborhood. I was taken care of the same day and got a great hair cut. Defenitely going back again, already booked my waxing.
Everyone working there looked like they were out of a fashion magazine and would have attitude, but they were the opposite. I think the attitude of the desk girl, shampoo girl and haircutter was my favorite part.
They were accomodateing and had a high level of customer service.
Pros: across the street from REAL FOOD DAILY
I went to Forme salon last week for a color correction. I had a little brassy tone going on (from another salon) that I needed fixed...fast! Luckily for me, these women don't mess around. One look at my hair and I could tell they saw way beyond my color and on to the solution...in seconds! Doreen fixed my color perfectly.
And, I have gotten the chance to meet the owners and I can say they are totally professional and are all about giving QUALITY service WITHOUT ATTITUDE!!
I TRUST them completely, no matter what kind of "please fix my hair!" crisis I have going on. And I know since their philosophy is to treat the client with respect, that is the expecation of all their employees, and it shows!!! I could not be more pleased!
July 07 Update...
Add Cynthia to the list of fabulous hair professionals...wow! I could have sat getting my scalp massaged forever...I really wanted to! and of course the coloring turned out great! No one HAS to know what color my real hair color is, right? Blended perfectly. But the scalp massage...did I mention the massage....
Pros: Staff, ambience, Spacious salon---WOW!
Cons: I can only find time to go to Forme once a month
I had gone to Lynette at another salon and recently tried to get a haircut and she was not there !
In my search(no one else was going to touch my head) I found out that Lynette and two other stylists opened their own salon.
I went in thinking that she must have scaled down ( it didnt matter if she worked in her garage I would have gone to her) I was blown away when I walked in the door , her salon was bigger, brighter and much cooler than the other place.
I could not get a haircut right then because she is so booked , but Im on the wait list and wait is what I will do to get a haircut by her !
Defenitely check it out , and call before to make an appt with her , she is worth it !
Pros: library parking , cool ambience, great haircut and shampoo massage
I have only been moved to write 2 reviews on citysearch, so you better read this!
I have been seeing my stylist, Ixie, for almost 8 years now. She knows what she is doing! I trust her instincts when it comes to my hair. She will be frank when you come in with some new fangled style that just will never look right on you and steer you towards something that will make people stop and look.
When I walk down the street strangers always comment on my hair. When women ask which color I use...I smile and hand then Ixie's card because she is the master-mixer, diva of color. It's very difficult to find a stylist who gets cut AND color. Look no more, Ixie keeps me looking amazing and turning heads without 3 different appointments with 3 different stylists. Do you feel comfortable enough to say to your hair stylist "just make me gorgeous?!" Then go see Ixie, at her new salon Forme.
This new spot makes the salon she used to work at look like a shack. Space-like pods and chain mail curtains flow around two story mirrors making the salon feel mod and clean, but warm at the same time with all of the smiling faces. The spa is beautiful with Spanish tile and state of the art facilities. I truly love Ixie and her new Salon - Forme - and encourage you to check it out.
Pros: Freindly Staff, Talented Stylists, Sleek Atmosphere, Ample Parking in Back
Cons: So close to 3rd Street Promenade you will spend too much money there because you will feel like a million bucks when you leave the salon.
