Awful company. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Attempting to get a full refund for work that was improperly and poorly done...for which Jay said they would not give us a full refund! A two to three week bathroom remodel has turned into a three month nightmare. They did not get a permit, which means that they were operating illegally as a licensed contractor. This is criminal activity we have learned. We had to call daily to find out if and when they would be coming to work. They did not clean up after themselves and left trash in our house and yard for weeks. I even swept up after them daily. We had to ask them repeatedly to remove the demo debris. There was never a design plan. We had to ask them multiple times to put a floor runner down during demo...after they had already scratched our wooden flooring. We had a waterfall in the wall at one point due to a cap popping off. We were told this is common and not to worry about it. They sent three sets of their plumbers(their third plumber, they told us, was a "professional" Thanks guys for hiring a professional to work on our bathroom...) to figure out certain problems we were having due to the new bathroom plumbing.. Furthermore, they scratched and broke our brand new corner whirlpool tub that they were supposed to frame and install. They did frame the tub..three times..incorrectly. We even paid for expedited shipping for items when they made it seem like we were slowing down the process...which was a waste of money. We have had three inspections all of which pointed out flaws in plumbing, electrical, framing...everything...sewage pipes were even exposed... To get to all of the incorrect piping and to get everything up to code, the walls were torn out as well as the floor. Just ridiculous, sad, frustrating...a horrible experience. Where is the professionalism Jay always talks about having...We have paid them $8430...we ended up with a shell of a room with no shower, an incorrectly framed broken tub, no toilet, no vanity...and all bad plumbing, no lights, incorrect electrical and ventilation after three months...furthermore, we have to buy a new tub and have had to pay for an inspector. We have no faith in the quality of their work and simply want to be refunded our money and to be given compensation for damages(a new tub). We have contacted the BBB and Contractors State License Board.

Sounds simple, but unfortunately all to often somewhat of a lost art! You and all your staff at San Diego Home Improvements understand this. Not only did all of the above happen, but there were solutions to difficult problems and suggestions to save money and enhance the scope of work.
I would highly recommend you and your staff to any of my friends or business acquantances. Your crew was so well liked by my family - that they miss them!"

Our experience with San DIego Home Improvement has been a nightmare. In August 2010 we signed up for a whole house window replacement (30+ windows). There were numerous issues but the overarching frustration is very poor customer service.

Some of the highlights:
All but 2 windows were installed in October 2010 (the reasons for the missing windows changed a couple of times) however they were very prompt with activating our credit line at that time. After making numerous calls to the site manager and the office were able to get 1 of the outstanding windows replaced in December.

It is now the end of February (2011). We've been told our remaining window has been at their warehouse for weeks now (bordering on months). Again after numerous follow up calls we were scheduled and rescheduled. Today we waited 3 hours beyond the install time and so far no one has showed up or even called to let us know.
