The security guys have NO clue about crowd control. Standing in line for 45 minutes without moving is nobody's idea of a good time. We never did get into the place because they took only people who were on their list inside and only about 5 or 6 at a time. The other people in line cut in front of us and it was just a mob of people. No line, no order, no manners! Staff did nothing to try to make things better and just acted nasty to everyone. Don't waste your time - go somewhere else.

I CAME HERE FOR MY BACHELORETTE NIGHT ONE SAT. AND THE LINE WAS SUPER LONG. SECURITY NOTICED MY FRIENDS AND i & WE ALL GOT IN FREE AND DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE. THE SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY WAS GREAT !!!!! THE PARTY CROWD WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY . WE HAD A GREAT TIME.

All I can say is WOW!

The first time I came here was on New Year's Eve 2009. I had a phenomenal time but will not review the adventure because it would have been good almost anywhere I went. Instead I want to review my past experience from Saturday, my birthday.

I knew that I wanted to invite my friends to a HOT but elegant club with a top-notch feel. ELEVATE is the right place, believe me. I sent an email to make a reservation. Greg, the general manager, called me to set it up. He told me that all of my friends could bypass the cover and the line if they mentioned my name at the door.

When I arrived, they knew exactly who I was, all of the security guards were introduced to me and we went right up VIP style. It felt like the red carpet was rolled out. They gave me the best table in the club and I already had friends waiting who couldn't believe their similar experience. Our cocktail server was awesome and kept us happily drinking all night. The music was ridiculously good and the club was bumpin'. There were good looking people everywhere having a blast. The general manager came by to check on us a couple of times and we all felt very special. ELEVATE was incredibly accommodating to the 50 or so guests that came to celebrate!

We will all come back again and for those I have talked to, have dubbed this our favorite spot in los Angeles.

If you're looking for a cheap place, remember, you get what you pay for. If you want to have a first class experience, this is the place to come.

I've been to elevate quite a few times with my friends and it's a nice little spot downtown. However, if you're looking for a similar atmosphere with better sushi, I'd go with Club Sushi in Hollywood.

My friends and I have been going to Elevate at least twice a month for almost a year... The staff knows and remembers us and we always have a great experience. One of the only places in LA/Hollywood that is always crowded and where there are no issues or problems.

My girlfriend and I went to dinner at Takami and I made reservations at Elevate as well. We were very well taken care of and did not have to wait to get in. The place got filled up by 11:30 and the great was good. They played a lot of top 40 and hip-hop, although we enjoy house music more. Otherwise, not bad...

""It's a Privilage to be here"...that's what the old doofus Club Manager said. After Spending close to 500 dollars at the adjacent Sushi restaurant, the manager to Elevate gave the girls free passes and the guys front of the line passes that still cost 20 bux cover charge. Well one of our friends didn't get a pass and the manager made him go all the way down to the back of the line 21 floors down. He would not budge. So we're all inside the club and the DJ is horrible...mashing up ac/dc with some off the wall hip hop song and cutting the songs way too short. Then the drinks were not even all that good (with extremely rude bartenders) and they charged 11-12 bucks per drink! I do not recommend this place."

My girlfriends and I were invited to a special party on a Sunday night for MLK weekend by Omer S. We never turn down a good party! We had a great time and danced for 3 hours. We have been to this spot a few times and had fun every time.

We were invited to Elevate last weekend and really loved the location. We were on the guest list, so no issues at the door. Door staff was nice and got us right in. There was an ugly crowd waiting at the door, but we never saw them upstairs. The crowd upstairs was very good. The music was good, but I would prefer more house music. Drinks are priced OK at $11. Definitely going to head back.

I strongly do NOT recommend you waste your time or money at this place.
Servers are rude, doormen are rude, management was not even present, bartenders incomepetent ( all be it expected it is Downtown after all).

I forked over $20 to get into an empty club with my girlfriend and then we were told to get up from the seats we were in for more than 20 minutes because the table we were at was "Now reserved".

If you're looking for a cool spot downtown head for the STANDARD, better vibe, better staff, and better view.

This place is way overrated! Me and a group of friends got a table at pre-thanksgiving event and it sucked. The bottle gets locked up in a case on your table and only gets opened when the waitress decides she feels like coming by!

The main door guy (steve) has a serious attitude problem...

As far as the greygoose...they didn't even let people in until after the hour was up.

The group next to us had a member of their party (table) held at the line for 45 min! It wasn't until they had to physically drag a staff member out to the front that they were able to get in!

If you like waiting for 1 hr, crappy bottle service, or getting harassed to buy a bottle at the door then this is the spot for you.

The place isn't that big also but i will give it this it has a nice view.

We have been to Elevate 5 or 6 times and have enjoyed it every time. We went in last night and they had a Thanksgiving party for their customers. They had free Grey Goose pouring for an hour! I dont write any reviews, but no other club takes care of their customers like this! My friends and I will continue to go to Elevate. There are clubs and there are CLUBS like Elevate. Go out there and have fun!

I went to Elevate for an after-party for a film release and didn't know what to expect. The place is absolutely stunning!!! The views are spectacular and the staff was well-prepared for the event. We sat at a table outside on the patio, chatted it up, and enjoyed the view all night long. I will definitely be back with my regualr crew for dancing.

I will say the bartenders were cool but felt like I was leasing bottle service rather than purchasing it.. they kept it on lock the whole time until the hostess took her little sweet time to come back to our table, by the end of the night I still had half full bottle left because I got tired of hunting her down. When the club was over she had no problem getting to my table to snatch up my half-full bottle. I don't want to spend my night micro-managing a good time when I paid to have that done...this happened on several occasions. I've been there a few times and each time was horrible in a different way. The security kindly directed me to owner,hoping to get some customer service and he treated me like a piece of dirt. I left my table for 5 minutes and came back to him and his friends at my table. He told the security to kick my friend out the club because he was wasted at my table I paid for. The owner was arrogant and thought he was better than everybody. You have to remember why you have business there not for you and your snooty friends, it's for the customers. it's all a facade, an entrance to hell is what I experienced.

We tried out this place on Saturday night and had a great time. The crowd was good and the music was great. We thought it was going to be cold and rained out, but it was neither. There seemed to be more girls than guys, but most of the girls were dancing in groups. The door was difficult since we were four guys, but we just waited and the door guy let us in, but made us pay cover. We will head back there. It was good times.

We went to Elevate the night before Halloween with a big group of co-workers and friends. The music was grreat and they had spider webs and Halloween setup everywhere. Most of the people were dressed up, but some DIDN'T GO THROUGH THE EFFORT!!! IT'S HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

It's not often that a restaurant or club can ruin a perfectly good setting with rude service and treatment, but Elevate Lounge and Takami manage to do it with flying colors. I recently hosted a birthday party at Elevate with dinner at Takami prior to that. The food at Takami is actually very good, but the service could not have been worse. We literally had to call our server over every time we needed her. When we moved over to Elevate Lounge for our scheduled bottle service it only got worse. First, contrary to the club description, we were told that dinner at the restaurant doesn't get you into the club and there is a cover ($20) unless you order bottle service. If you haven't arranged for bottle service don't waste your time - you'll never get in. On top of that, even bottle service doesn't guarantee you entry. I ordered multiple bottles at $350 each to get all of our guests in but some of our guests were turned away by bouncers on power trips even though we were within our allotted spots. You would think that management would help you out but they're useless as the bouncers have full autonomy to do whatever they want. It's definitely the type of place that holds up the line out front to make itself seem crowded and popular. If not for the group we were with it would have been a terrible night out. If you're the type of person that likes going places to say that you've been there - knock yourself out, but if you actually want to have a good time avoid Elevate at all costs!

I went with 6 girls 10/25 for dinner for my b-day celebration at Takami, the food was excellent, the service was mediocre. We inquired about getting into the club Elevate.. the manager John was very gracious, explained the whole situation then walked us over to the club. 6 girls got in no problem. Then the night spiral downwards.
I had other friends who did not join us for dinner instead they were joining for the dancing/partying. My friends got to Elevate around 10pm and waited until 12pm, granted they are 2 guys.. but waiting for 2 hours? The club was only at half capacity yet they wouldn't let people up. They wouldn't let me go downstairs to find them, since if I leave I cannot re-enter the club. Finally my friends had to get bottle service to come up. When they showed up, we were not allowed to sit with them since we didn't get bottle service with them. I had another friend with her boyfriend who waited in line for 1.5 hours and finally just left b/c the line just wasn't moving.
The DJ at the club was playing odd music and doesn't take any requests. A lot of people were just sitting, lounging and looking bored. At one point the music was pretty decent but that only lasted for about 10 minutes.. then the DJ switched to something completely different.
I would not recommend this club to any one, the restaurant yes, not the club. I do not understand what management is trying to achieve - making people wait outside for hours to the point that people were leaving to go elsewhere.. and employing the DJ who plays bad music.

My girlfriends and I went last Saturday and 6 girls, surprisingly, had issues getting in. There was a large crowd in front trying to get in. Many people were very assertive, but we just waited a few minutes and the doorman let us in. Once we got upstairs, we realized why some of those people were not being allowed in. They had a nice crowd and it wasn't too crowded. I thought there were too many women. This is a good place to hang out with friends, but may not be the best place to meet someone... We will return at some point, but downtown is not exactly next door for us.

I went to a commercial real estate event at Elevate earlier today. I must say I have heard a lot about Elevate, but never got a chance to head downtown. Not only do I not know how they pulled the location off, but the service and catered food from Takami was also really good. I will go back to have dinner at Takami. I recommend the venue.

I'm one who can respect a classy and exclusive place. I had originally planned to visit a club in Hollywood but was talked into visiting Elevate. Biggest mistake of my nightlife, I had called in and spoken To Greg and booked us a table for 2 bottles. We arrive and there is a line full of guys, I speak to the bouncer regarding my reservation and he tells us to wait, after waiting 20-30mintes my patiences was wearing thin so i speak to another bouncer and he informs me that since my friend has a t-shirt which probably cost more than his entire suit on that we may not be able to enter. I ask for Greg and he never bothered to come speak with us, so bouncer asks us to wait and see maybe they'll let us in. After waiting another hour we decided to leave and never revisit that place again. Not only did they waste our entire night but they were rude and disrespectful.

This place may have a nice view and setup but that only gets you so far. Learn how to treat your customers.But I must say after reading other reviews I'm glad I didnt waste my money here.

I was there last Saturday night and had a blast! My friend has a way of getting on their guest list so we flew past the door. They had a crowd out front when we arrived at 11pm. The crowd upstairs was good and we basically hung out at the bar for the first couple hours. The bartrender (Jason) was really cool and the drinks were strong. We jumped on the dance floor later on and dance until after 2am!! I had no idea they could stay open after 2am (maybe they can't). Overall, we all had a great time and are planning on going back this Saturday or next week.

I am sorry for lack of better words, but this place stinks! Granted the location and venue itself is nice, but it all stops there. Did not get in because i was wearing a t-shirt, (changed shirts) only to go upstairs and see various people wearing t-shirts! Then the bartender had no idea how to make any drinks (i.e. Screw driver). On top of that employees are not friendly at all... i could truly go on and on about how i would never go back!

It's the worst place I've ever been too. There music is awful! The customer service is the worst. I own 4 t-mobile stores and I know what to do when my customers walk in. Treat them with respect. Red flag!!! We waiting in line for 2 hours we should have known by this time to leave. We only stuck around because it was my friends b-day. They were letting people in that came after us. They were in line behind us. The worst experience everrrrr! I will never ever go there again. The manager was a total A-HOLE! They think they are upscale and they do not know the first thing about customer service!!

Missed a promotion at Elevate last month for Groove Society, but decide to head over last weekend. This place was a refreashing change from Hollywood. The only tough part was getting in since we didn't have a reservation, but we eventually got in or else I would have rated it a 5. When we were talking to the door guy, he said they do more quality and less quantity since they are in a high rise. When we got up, we noticed that it wasn't an A-list crowd, but it was good for Downtown. It was also nice to be in a place where you don't get bumped into and stepped on every minute. There is more room for personal space and we appreciated that. We will defintely go back (hopefully doorman remembers us and doesn't make us wait).

Based on personal experience. I'm originally from Las Vegas & am very familiar with many night clubs from upper class to lower class in Las Vegas. I was also a Restaurant Manager as well so I know all about cutomer service. I must say that the experience I had in Elevate Lounge was the most worse experience I 've ever had. 5 girls started off at Tukami restaurant for dinner which is right next to Elevate Lounge. Meal cost was $163.00 we had ordered miso soup and edamame which didn't come out until the end of our meal. No big deal. I informed the chef & the manager that came by and asked us how our meal was. We wanted to inquire about getting into elevate lounge so the Director of Club Operations at Elevate by the name of Greg Omotoy came to our table and looked at our bill and handed us 6 tickets to get into the club. We get there & come to find out we had to pay $20.00 each person to get in, no big deal at the time but then we meet up with 3 of our other friends that DID NOT have dinner at Tukami's & were not charged anything to get into the club. They were very inconsistant. The biggest problem I have was not necessarily getting our money back but the principal of the matter. He didn't even apologize or even accomodate us by buying us maybe 1 or 2 rounds of drinks. Being in the service industry with all different types of customer one thing I have learned & it's to apologize to your customers & be understanding. Greg Omotoy was not understanding or apologetic at all. I will never send anyone to this place & make sure that everyone knows not to visit this place. On top of that the bartenders were a bit rude to some of the customers. After the ocnversation I had with Greg Omotoy I went up to the bar to ask for a drink and all 3 bartenders just stood there looking at me and no one was even at the bar. They did not immediately approach me nor did they ask how I was doing that evening. Whatever you do in LA.. DON'T GO TO ELEVATE LOUNGE

So I live and work in Downtown LA and have been to Elevate since the opened. The first few months I lterally brought in probably 60 of my friends and co-workers. The staff and door people always treated us well and knew that we spent plenty of money. Over the past year they have a new mgt team that is absolutley horrible. They "act" as if they are a manhattan night club when in fact now thery are simply one more boring club where its the same crowd dancing to the same lame techno/house music. It used to play hip hop and rap with great vibes and diverse crowd. Now its the same "ethnic (meaning not diverse at all)" crowd with stuck up doormen and staff. Needless to say---this place is horrible! Do not go there...go to Standard instead---they are just as bad but at least you'll see a diverse crowd with much better music.

I went to happy hour at Takami Sushi with my husband one gorgeous Monday afternoon, we live a very busy lifestyle and value our time together...wanted to try a new restaurant. Takami was suggested by a friend and everything they told me about it was incredible and right on! My husband and I had the best time. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was even better....on this clear afternoon we enjoyed great sushi looking out over the city, AMAZING. The view was simply breath taking. While we were there we chatted with one of the managers, Andrew and shared many laughs, he was fantastic. He took the time to show us around Elevate Lounge as well...this was especially fantastic because I plan events and am now looking at holding one at one of the most beautifully designed and architecture savvy facilities I?ve seen in a long time. My event is going to be phenomenal.

So before I wrote a review, I wanted to see who gave it a 4 or 5 star rating. GIRLS! Obviously, I'm a guy and it kinda goes that way at clubs in which the guys HAVE to bring girls and open their wallets to them. I'm okay with that to a certain point. But this place, a.) they could care less about the average to above average income guy, b.) the girls there are average overall, nothing spectacular, c.) just like those flashy places you wait in line for, bribe the bouncer, and then walk in to see that it's nearly empty. So to all those rave reviews, they come from girls that don't pay a cent. The 1 star reviews come mostly from fellows like me that are looking for a good and pricey time that have to deal the the lameness that is the "IN" crowd. The views and atmosphere are great....... and the drinks are stiff cause they're pricey (just like any l.a., hollywood, nyc, miami bar). The people there are classless as well............. I'll give them 2 stars cause I'm been to worse places, but my money would rather go to The Standard if I want a sweet view.

Plus, if you want a classy joint in a big city......... go to a dive bar...... real people, real conversation, less botox, and you know what, there's millionares that go there too!

If you're a person like me who's all into setting, then you will love this place. It has a 360 view of all the lit up skyscrapers. And another thing that's really important when I'm going somewhere it that it's not stuffy at all. The roof is covered so u can even go when it's raining, and the walls have screens so there's always ventillation. : ) Strong but pricey drinks. Bouncer makes u wait a while... Not a stuck up crowd. I went in the middle of the week too, and it was still worth it for me. Great place to go hang out with friends. I would really recommend it.

The first time was a while back when they first opened. I got there around 10:30 on a Friday night and there was a long line. I expected this and was okay with having to wait. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I realized the line had not moved at all and the same people who were waiting in the front of the line when I first got there were still standing in the same spot. I walked up to the front on the line and was rudely asked by the bouncer to get back in line. I asked to speak with his manager. A short gentlemen came out about 5 minutes later and I asked why the line isn't moving. He told me you have to be on the guestlist to get in. I asked how your suppose to get on the guest list and he told me you have to be part of the PR firm who was having a private party that same evening. Basically, unless you're a part of the private party, you're not getting in. I asked why they didn't announce that to everyone in line instead of making everyone waste their Friday evening. Everyone in line was very upset and all 60+ people left. What a nightmare. I gave this place another chance this past weekend. I had some drinks at the Edison and some friends wanted to go check this place out. We got there around 12:45 on a Saturday night. There was nobody in line so we walked up to the front ropes. After 5 minutes of being ignored by the bouncers, I asked them why we couldn't walk in, especially since there was nobody in line. The bouncer rudely told me we had to wait until they wanted to let us in. Talk about horrible service. The owners must be too full of themselves to think they're the only establishment in town.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are many other places in downtown with much better service and no hassle. Try the Edison, Broadway Bar, JLounge, Bordellos, Golden Gopher, or anywhere else but this place. Trust me, you'll thank me for it. I wish we could give negative stars because this place truly doesn't even deserve 1.

After eating at Takami and spend some $$$ we got in to this place easily; then no problem to get in. view is the best but the crowd is really not there, I'm sorry to say that but for the club like this with all nice setting and very nice view I was expecating better crowd or music and aslo it wasn't that busy at all, but after 10 min when we got board and on our way leaving the club it was a line out side, I just don't get it if the club is empty why you have people stading in line, this is old fashin way to do business and keep people in line to show your club is full or popular. Be nice to your guests and they write you good reviews which make your club more as hot spot. at the end is a decint place to go and have fun.

Went in last night for the first time. A few friends of mine had been there before. Really nice crowd, but it didn't fill up until 11:30. We got in at 10, so the first hour was a little low on people. By midnight, it was packed! Good music, beatiful girls, and stiff drinks (a little pricey at $11). I will be going back soon.

Went to see Elevate with 3 of my girlfriends and ended up having a great time. Thought it was not going to be a good night when the door guys told us there was a $20 cover. One of the promotors or employees told us he would buy us a round or two to make up for it. Cover issues aside, the place was very nice and we all loved the view and got to enjoy the warm weather. I think we came off the dance floor once (to claim our drinks) and headed back. Had a good time and met a cute guy.. Can't go wrong with that deal.

Horrible place, second time there and it's a total low class crowd. Some ethnic people own it and seems have very low class experience on how to manage a club.

Loved the place. My girlfriends and I were invited there after the De La Hoya fight. Some of the sponsors had 5 VIP tables booked, so we had free drinks all night!!!! We had a great time! There was a huge group in front, but we had zero issues getting in. The club was packed at the right level (where people weren't stepping on my toes!!!) and the crowd was great. The girls and I are heading back this week!

Went to Elevate for the first time and had issues getting in. If it wasn't for one of my friends knowing people there, we probably would not have gotten in. Once we got in, I realized why it is difficult to get in. They have a great crowd and the place is not too big. We have been hanging out in some other places in downtown, but this place has the best crowd by far. I will go back there again.

My husband and i went here to meet some friends. went up to the bouncer and he said my husband was underdressed. he was wearing a collared shirt, slacks (not jeans like everyone else was) and sneakers. i dont know who they think they are but whats done is done. Girls can get in without a problem. I just want to let you all know, in order for MEN to get in, you have to be dressed like a chump and wear black leather shoes. but jeans are TOTALLY appropriate.

A group of girlfriends and I went in last Saturday. I made reservations for a table, but it took them two days to call me back and confirm my reservation. We arrived at about 11:30 and the front door was very crowded. We were instructed to go to the vip line since we had a reservation. They were not even letting groups of girls up without reservations! We checked in and got upstairs without any drama. The club was crowded and the crowd was nice. We got a very nice table next to the dance floor and it worked out great. The only reason why this place is not five stars is because we could not get access to our bottle. It is locked up in a box at the table and the waitress had to pour the drinks. She said it was because the police department required it. Otherwise it's a great place.

I wouldn't recommend this club to anyone, granted the view and the club itself is nice. However, one of the owners doesn't like people of color. My Asian friends arrive at the club around 9:30pm on a Saturday night and was told that there will be a long wait. Threre were only two people in front of them. They offered to buy a table and was told by the White co-owner that there were none left. So they waited, while they were waiting they noticed that the co-owner were choosing people from the line who he wanted inside the club. Interesting enough the White co-owner picked WHITE people to enter the club even though they didnt have reservations or buy a table. Meanwhile I was already in the club and didn't know this, but that club wasn't full and there were plenty of tables available to be brought. My friends finally left around 10:40pm to go somewhere else. This club will never see me there again or my friends. There were about 30 of us that night to celebrate a birthday party. Only a handful were inside the club and didn't know what was going on. As soon as our friends told called us, we left.

This place is amazing!!! I felt like I was in a different place NY..England...Europe....I did not feel like LA.

This place is an indoor/outdoor lounge with a breath taking view . You could sit and lounge outside or dance the night away. This worked out great with my friends and I....some of us lounged and some danced. We will definitely go back...

Very ,very poor service .Food is convayer style evrything is premade and cold.They brought all of our food at the same time.The SALT my god evrything extremely salty.When asked to speak to someone like a manager no one came around, finally some guy named Emillio comes around saying hes the owner with a bad attitude,not even listening or careing for customer,basically saying you dont like the food too bad and acting really cocky.Yes place looks good but food is terrible and the managment you give it a try, specially Emillo the so called manager or owner.I had a party for 8 and we all left dissapointed.

I find it kind of odd that all of the poor reviews have been marked with "0 out of 6 people found this review helpful." To me, it seems like the lounge's owners/managers/employees just went on to try to skew the ratings they were getting.
At this point, I don't even know what the lounge is like, but the ethics of the management is definitely off-putting.

food was amazing and kinda pricey but worth it. The club was ok, lots of older men trying to pick up on younger woman. When you order bottle service the bottles are not given to you at your table they keep the bottles just cause the club is so high up they are scared that the bottles might get tossed down so you have to stay on top of the waitress to keep filling your drink!

So we finish dinner at DISGUSTING and UNAPPEALING Takami and try to get in to elevate and they tell us to wait as the manager may come by every so often and u have to attack him to get a ticket and so I saw he went up to a group and was like ok u guys are good now you can all go in and I stopped him and asked him if we could get in if we dined? He was so rude and he was like let me see ur receipt and he looks at the price as if he's basing whether we can get in or not based on how much you spend. So we finally get in Elevate and it was pretty empty at first but then more people but it never gets full at all. Many couches were still open on a Friday night and the place was surprising empty overall there was so much room to walk and everything, it seems like they need a ton of more business. They played like 2 good songs and the rest were all old school songs for 10 hours and I was getting so annoyed because I kept thinking the next song would be something normal since it was like 10 beyond boring songs in a row but it never did, it was frustrating! and not to be politically correct or anything but it seemed like it was ethnic night. Basically your dancing around with ur restaurant neighbors. Theres like young people and then theres like 35 year old men trying to pick up all the young girls ew. Overall please don't go there, trust me you will thank me and if you still do I think your crazy and you will regret it later hahahahaaaaaa!

I went to Elevate with a friend of mine last Saturday and we absolutely loved it!!! A friend of mine had told me about this place so we decided to give it a try (I personally am tired of Hollywood) and so we headed to downtown. Yes it was crowded at the door when we got there around 10pm and yes we did have to wait in line a little (about 15 minutes) but let me tell you it was well worth it. The crowd was a good mix and the music was great. The line for the ladies room was a bit too long but that was ok cause the boys restroom is next to it and that?s were I met a cute guy...It did get a little chilly but my solution was to dance (if you don't like to dance then bring a jacket)...Anyway I loved it and will be going back soon...

so if you are a girl, do not let the bouncers get ur number!!! if you dont want to talk to them afterwards, they will be jerks and not let you in. In fact, they all let eachother know who the person is, and make a huge deal out of ur presence there. aside from that, the owners let there employees tell them what to do, as far as who gets in. no matter if its 6 hot girls, if u reject a bouncer, ur out!!
the view is great, but it is very cold inside. the drinks are a bit overpriced and they only have 1 bathroom with like 50 people waiting to use it. on a scale from 1-10 i would give it a 4 max.
crowd is okay, alot of armenians and asians, but generally mixed.

The bouncers were rude, the music was so so, the drinks were horrible and the crowd was lame. If you want to talk about the view, Standard's view is way better than that of Elevate's. If you want to get in faster, make sure you are chubby, because the guys at the door were attached to those fat girls.

If you want to be treated like you are worthless go to elevate lounge. It is over priced, the bouncers think they are God (what bouncer doesn't). It's easier to get into heaven than elevate. They have 3 lines and about 3 check points to get in! It's madness they are worse than any of the upscale clubs in Hollywood. The view is great however, there are plenty of other places in downtown that have as good a view. Good Luck!

I've been two or three times, each time, I breezed through the line with no problems. Perhaps it's been because I'm a girl and I rolled with just one or two other people. I've also never heard of a cover for the venue so either I've been lucky or someone's getting ripped off. I've seen grown men begging to get in. So tragic. The venue is regular, a nice reprieve when you don't feel like doing the chaotic Hollywood club thing, so I'm surprised that so many reviewers have had negative experiences.

The music is forgettable, the DJ often repeats the same songs as though there's just a CD and they put it on repeat. It's absurd that they make you pay for tables/bottle service when this is a lounge and not a club. The views are beautiful. The people are average looking. The drinks are decent. Go once, but I wouldn't be surprised if you never go again.

We visited for the first time this week and had a great time. The place is like nothing else in LA (it's very NY style). The closest thing is the Standard rooftop, but it's just a rooftop. This place is indoor and outdoor and it flows really nicely. We made reservations in advance and had no issues getting in. It was crowded, but not packed like sardines (I am not a fan of being bumped into and stepped on every 10 seconds), so it was really comfortable. The crowd was a good mix of professionals and people like us that out to have a good time. We had a blast!

In downtown L.A. 21 floors up, with panorama-heavy wraparound balconies, this lounge is offering competition for the nearby Standard.

I went on a Friday night, the place had a cool dance floor, great views and chic atmosphere, but it took awhile to fill up with people. There's glass along the initial part of the balconies and at first I thought it continued all the way up, but was delighted to see that it didn't and instead was an open-air lounge. The martinis were lethal but not the best tasting, they had a flirtini on the menu at least, but not a key lime one, ah well no place is perfect. There was a line to get in later on, but when we got there at 9:30 there wasn't a problem at least not as a girl though and we were able to snag a comfy couch without bottle service.

Im sure anyone who has been to the "L.A scene" knows how fickle all these places are, in one moment out the next. Ive been there about 4 times in the last 8 weeks and Im telling you its generally dissapointing. Girls are average, drinks are expensive ( of course they are) and to be honest , its dead in there. I don't ever remember standard ( back in the day) being like that. Also, the food and drinks were ok. Good if you go with 15 people, because then youll alaready have your own crowd. But for meeting people there or hooking up.....pretty lame if you ask me. Need to get some better looking people in there.....this is L.A. after all........

A great place to go dancing or just to have a drink and enjoy the view. On a Thursday night you might find a mix of suits and a younger, not pretentious crowd dancing. Saturday nights it gets fairly crowded so if you are having a birthday you would definitely want to make table reservations.

I hear that they don't even look at a guest list request if you're Asian... A friend of mine tried to put herself and some friends on the guest list for Elevate and never received a response. She tried calling instead to find out what was going on and was told that the person who handles the guest list often skips over a name if it's Asian because of how many Asian people go to Elevate. Anyhow, my friends tried to go to the lounge one night and were turned away at the door because there were "too many Asian people inside already".

People! This place is located in Downtown LA in the middle of the Financial District on like the 14th floor of a sky rise building......YES it is pretentious, expensive, and "LA trendy"....because it is in LA!!! I personally love going to this place every once in a while, I think it is comfortable and classy. But if you're not into those "pretentious LA" places, then I would recommend that you not go here or any other place like it, such as The Standard. Maybe you should try some no name bar in the Valley.
But if you are into glitz and glamour, this place is AMAZING!

Let's break it down.... Valet Parking $7. No refunds if you can't get in. 3 lines, one for the restaurant , one for bottle service and one for everyone else. Bad news: if you are in the line with "everyone" else, 99.9%, you will not get in, period. It was 915pm and the bouncer said they were not letting people in if they did not have dinner reservations or bottle service. So, be prepared to either fork out some cash for dinner or bottle service or else don't even bother showing up. It will be a waste of your time. I am now in my 30's and have a little dough... so, I made reservations for the sushi restaurant. Afterward, I was able to get into the elevate lounge. The place was very fun, diverse crowd, fantastic views... the only place I know that has dancing/lounge feel downtown. There are too many "lounge" bars but no dancing... this is a great place to throw a birthday party or entertain out of town guest.

Went to Takami last night and had an amazing time. We started with the Happy Hour and slowly progressed to having dinner in the same place (had reservations at Morton's). There was an amazing energy in the restaurant. We finished up dinner and were leaving (at about 10pm) and we saw Elevate was open. Walked into Elevate and it was crowded too! Stayed and had a drink there as well. They turned just another evening into a great experience!

Place is a total waste of time and money. Horrible attitude started from the point of making reservation. They are supposed to call you back, never do, you call them again multiple times getting the same response... and they don't confirm your party reservation till last minute.

Door experience was even worse: bouncers keep holding everybody there for HOURS (we arrived early AND had a reservation) trying to be bribed, 'very intelligent' blond hostess just fooling around in front of the crowd practicing her acting skills. Finally after 2 hours of humiliation we get in ? and the place is almost empty! Whole experience was way not worth it for such a mediocre place.

If you want to go out and have fun, spend your big bucks somewhere else and you will have much better time!

ok, I really can't stand places that are pretentious. If it is, at least treat people who have table reservations with respect. We came here and had made arrangements for bottle service in advance, but we still had to wait 15-20 minutes because they couldn't find the reservation. After we finally made it up to the club, the music was sub-par, and the crowd was made up of mostly those 'trying' to be upscale. at least the decor and architecture was nice.

Well after having a small wait outside (but thankfully the door staff was entertaining) we made our way upstairs to a really unique venue. I have always gone out in Hollywood, but recently started trying new places around the city. I loved the music and vibe here. I was there Friday night and really had a great time. My friends and I couldn't get over the view!! It's worth a little wait, they bought us a round of shots and gave us great service. I'll get bottle service next time so I can have a larger group join me, but for now it was a really fun place!

If you like to waste money and get taken advantage of for being semi-drunk, this is the place for you. It was my friend's birthday party so we reserved a bottle service table for $300. We went through three security check points to get to our table. Then, it took another 30 minutes or so for us to grab a waitress. From the limited choices, we ordered a bottle of Grey Goose, a standard size that was not enough to go around for 6 girls or at least it seemed that way when the bottle had to be taken back and forth by the waitress everytime she pours us a drink. How do you keep track of the bottle that's not allowed to be kept at the table and must be stowed away at the bar or so they say. The highlight of the night was when we were given a surprise gift, AN EXTRA $200 TABLE FEE! SO, OUR BILL WAS $641.25 TOTAL (table fee $200+grey goose $300+20% gratuity+tax) for the inconvenience, 4 seat table for a group of 6, a bottle that we couldn't keep track of, and a decent view. Well, we're not that stupid or at least not drunk enough. We called the manager and let him know that we were never notified of a separate table fee and paid $200 less. I'd rather take a flight to San Francisco and dine at a nice restaurant AND order a bottle of wine for that price.

I have been going to Elevate also every weekend since opening. I have become friendly with some of the staff and they let me in now without any delays. I read some of the reviews and find them funny. The place gets packed every weekend (keep in mind it is a small place that is not hard to fill up). I don't know how people say it is empty!!!!! I asked the bouncers why they hold people outside (if they are trying to make the place look busy) and he said that is not a game they play. He said that since they have a smaller capacity, they guarrantee entry to only the people with bottle service. The difference between the capacity and bottle service people is the amount of people they can let in early in the night. Most other people that don't have issues at the door arrive later in the night. Once they get in, the place gets packed at about 11:30ish. I usually stay until about 2:00am, but they stay open til 3:00 (or 2:30 according to the DJ). I highly recommend it, but with small groups (afterall, how many hot night clubs could you walk right into with a large group without knowing the doorman!!!).

I live across the street and this is the best addition downtown has seen! I visited when they first opened and then took a few weeks off, but went back last Friday night. The place was crowded and had a good, diverse crowd (not too many dudes like some other places). Definitely not a Hollywood crowd, but it's not Hollywood! We had a great time.. I have gone to many places around the country, but there are not many lounges like this one that I have ever seen in NY, SF, Miami, etc. I recommend cheching it out!!!

Unless you plan on buying an overpriced bottle, don't bother coming here. Even with a bottle, this place should be your last choice. Where do I start with this place. First, the staff is completely incompetent and RUDE! I called ahead of time and the lady on the phone said that the only way to get on the gueslist was to reserve a table for bottle servie. Otherwise, get there early because the line gets long. So, I got there early and waited in line for 40 minutes. Everyone kept trying to get the attention of the bouncers because the line (which was around the corner) was not moving at all- but they were completely ignoring everyone. Finally, I got the attention of one of the bouncers and he very arrogantly said, "I don't know why everyone is waiting in line. Unless you made a reservation, you are not getting in". After I told him what the lady/ hostess told me on the phone, he simply said, "well, you were misinformed" and walked away! Another friend went to the front of the line and asked another bouncer what was going on. He then said that although the place is reservation only, they do let people in until they reach capacity so we should just wait in line. Grrrr! After all the rudeness and misleading information, we decided to leave. What a waste of time. I should have left after 10 mins, but I wanted to try a new place. What a mistake! There are other , better places with great views in dowtown. Stick to those.

What a shame, a gorgeous lounge with amazing views of the city and it was more than half empty on a Saturday night. It's not that there weren't people waiting outside to get in, no there were more than enough people outside to fill up the club, but the lame bouncers kept saying that the club was at capacity and they could only let people in if other people left. What a pathetic trick, because when you finally do get in after waiting over an hour and a half you are unpleasantly surprised by an empty club with expensive drinks and an empty dance floor. So pathetic, the bouncers were even turning away large groups of beautiful women. What the hell are they thinking? I guess they are trying to create a buzz by keeping a long line in front, but don't believe the hype. lame bouncers, lame LA scene, lame all around. Save your time, you would probably have more fun doing your laundry on a Saturday night.

If you've been to one LA club, you've been to them all. This place is no different. It is nice inside, with a great view of the city. But other than that it is no different than any other place you have to wait in line to buy expensive drinks. It's just a club folks.

This is an edit to my original post above. Apparently Citysearch ratings are inflated. If you average the 7 ratings for this place, it should be 2.5. Instead Citysearch is showing a 3.5. I would imagine that is also the case for all other ratings. ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!! If you now average the 21 reviews of this place, it should be rated a 2.8, yet Citysearch is showing a 4. Such BS! So I changed my rating from a 3 to a 1.

This lounge is the worst place ever! The bouncers are mean, managers are clueless and the service is horrible. Even if you pay for the bottle service, the waitress brings the bottle and takes it back. Our waitress showed up every hour. Who knows what they do with the bottle? The long line outside is misleading because once you get in, you realize that the place is half empty. The management team there is so incompetent that there is no point of planning ahead of time. They just forget everything that they promise. Also, the restaurant food is overpriced and not really tasty. So the bottom line is, the only thing positive about this place is the view. Other than that, it's a waste of your time and money. Stay away from this place!

I've been to most lounges in LA and have to say this place is the absolute worst. It is obviously newly opened by very unexperienced people. The doormen were excessively rude...strict is one thing but rude is another. Getting bottle service makes you feel like a small child because the waitress brings and takes away the bottle each time. So in between catching up with her you might as well walk to the bar for each drink. When you sit in the VIP they literally have a guy come over and explain the "rules," such as no dancing on tables....please stay in this area etc. It makes you feel as if you've come to a nightlife bootcamp. There are so many checkpoints moving downstairs to the restaurant to the lounge..even the bathroom...you may want to tape your ID to your forehead. It was truly disenchanting.

I was there a couple of weekends ago for a friends birthday bash. The venue is beautiful inside with some awesome views. There is a huge dance floor, but your ticket in the door is a VIP table. There is always a long line outside and the doormen are really strict about the list. We had 3 check points to go through. But once inside the crowd was really diverse, but it seemed like most people were there with big groups of friends, not a mingling type of place. Its definately worth checking out the views.

We went last night with some work people and had a great time! The views are fantastic, a little weird to look down on The Standard's pool, but great! The atmosphere was fun. The seating configurations made it easy to have conversations with multiple people. Great place for a large group. The rose shots are a must have! Rose infused vodka with a rose petal in it, VERY TASTY! We also had sashimi that was fantastic. The Toro and Albacore were amazing. I would recommend this plae if you are looking for a fun place with a great view.
