Brick Pig??s House is undoubtedly the best BBQ in the East Bay. The owners, Carolyn and Alex, are not only the sweetest couple I have ever met, but they know how to prepare an authentic southern BBQ. Though you have the opinion of ordering a la carte, the meals include a choice of meat( ribs, brisket, links or chicken), one side (potato salad, cole slaw, corn, beans or macaroni salad ) and cornbread. I ordered the six ribs ($10.69) dinner which was surprisingly more than enough to feed two. The ribs are unique because they are not the typical thick sauce, smoky meat ribs and rather is cooked ??Arkansas Style? which is prepared with a thinner sauce, and meat that is juicy and tender and falls right off the bone. What is arguably one of the best aspects of BPH is their selection of desserts. The blackberry cobbler and sweet potato pie are so wonderful that I even ordered desserts here for thanksgiving, which my entire family raved about! I wouldn??t recommend BPH for big groups or dining in, as they only have two circular tables which are usually occupied during lunch and dinner times. Also, when ordering take out, I recommend calling about 15 minutes before you plan on coming in. They accept Visa and MasterCard and you can usually find parking around the block. Hours are 12-8PM Tuesday-Saturdays.
