Robata Bar evokes the spirit of a Nomiya, or a Japanese pub, from the streets of Tokyo. It is a place to share Katana style Robatayaki, an ancient style of Japanese cooking which involves grilling ingredients on bamboo skewers over an open flame. Also offered are sashimi specialties, ceviches and tartars. Robata Bar is an unique neighborhood spot for dinner, or as an after-dinner destination for sake or beer.
Great place to go with friends!

Went here with some friends and had a great time. We ordered a bunch of small tapas like items and shared. My favorite was the grilled pork chop followed by a chocolate dessert!

I love the Robata skewers. Very tasty. The seabass is incredible. And the shooters were surprisingly good. Odd but really good. A+ service and nice selection of cocktails. Need I say more?
Pros: Everything
Cons: Small space means get their early

Awe inspiring Japanese Robata

Great Concept for this little gastropub in Santa Monica. This is the perfect place to grab EXOTIC cocktails while also sampling various types of fresh meats, vegetables, and seafood either from the robata grill or the kitchen.
I loved the Lamb chops...absolutely amazing. The shooters, though very different from what I usually eat, were quite tasty. Sashimi was so fresh I could have sworn they caught the fish while we were waiting for our food.
I felt a little feminine when I ordered the Kyoto White Tea Rose Martini, however after the first sip, I knew I enterened into divine enlightenment...the drink was that good! Same with the Ginger Lychee Mojito and so many other specialty cocktails they offer.
The best part about this little bar is that the service is what you have come to expect from a Sushi Roku establishment....nothing but the best. The staff understands how to make a customer feel at home. The chefs are surprisingly lively and personable.
The servers are gorgeous....to say they look like models might be an understatment...despite their beauty they are so down to earth and really made my whole night enjoyable.
My only cons for this bar is that it is a little small, hence the four stars. It would be hard to fit a big group here. Though it felt a little tight I found it to be quite cozy.
All in all I would definitely come back to this bar because the food is so unique and the servers are just too smokin hot!! :-)
Pros: Excellent and unique Japanese cuisine, excellent service, beautiful servers, excellent cocktails
Cons: small space, no reservations
