During my years of graduate study at UCLA, I loved being in close proximity to 3-5 Indian Buffets that were all actually good (you can't say the same of many of the cheap/affordable Indian Buffets in Berkeley).

The lunch / champagne (not sure if the champagne is free, but soft drink and free refills are included) buffet on Sunday will set you back about fifteen bucks, which is a bit pricey compared to the establishments I frequented in West LA, but this is the only Northern Indian Restaurant Buffet I know of in Monterey and the food is actually quite tasty! The butter chicken is rich and smokey, the naan is acceptable.
