The hotel is a few steps from local transit--BART, MUNI (which takes you up Market Street or to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals.us They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

1. They note down credit card information on note full information (credit card number and expiry date), they did it at least two occasions with me.\n\n2. Front-desk associate watching intolerable contents on laptop, and avoiding basic services by not giving EVEN room key while check-in, customer has to ASK for the key, they are so busy in watching laptop.\n\n3. Gym was not working for 7+ weeks, repeatedly mentioned about it and no response.\n\n4. Dan Karki never ever respond to any of my voice mails on customer issues, at least Dan Karki not called back on 4 voice mails.\n\n5. Bugs were found on pillows and bed sheet, reported the bugs with pillow to front-desk ""Dimitry"".\n\n6. Reward points were stopped without communicating to customer; Customer should be first communicated before taking away something from Customer.\n\n7. When I file complain to corporate office , Dan Karki was so mad and rude that he threaten customer and said he can evict the customer any time from the property and will make sure to not allow again to reserve the room in future.\n\n8. Mostly travel groups are there in hotel and they don?t care about any new business and behave horribly with customers, since manager Dan Karki have created this culture I have no doubt all other associate following this same attitude and work culture. \n\n9. Worst hotel to stay in bay area and ruin your vacation or trip.

Stayed here with my family over the holidays. Our room overlooked the Bay Bridge and the ice skating rink below. However, on the weekends, this area is pretty dead. Tried the breakfast at the hotel, and found it was way overpriced for what you get. I think this is more of a hotel for business travelers, not family get-aways

I watched the second of the three Presidential debates here and was very impressed with the Lobby. AS I live in New Orleans- and our Hyatt has not been rebuilt ( three years out!) I missed congregating in a civilised lobby space and ordered dinner sandwich and a glass of wine form the menu. Ten bucks for a club sandwich piled high with chips on the side and a refreshing glass of merlot for the same...
I felt safe , three stories from the street-
Awesome elevators- and atrium, near a breezeway with tables set up outside...I did not stay in this hotel, however- I could not book it online and stayed in a nearby Marriott. I only stopped in for a quick bite and a glimpse of the debate- I left after about an hour.
Nice acoustics and furniture and ambiance for a price. Perfect location on EMbarcadero or Market Street BART- I forget which...

This is a very beautiful hotel. It is in walking distance from the stores and the people are very nice. The food is awesome and they give you a lot of activities to do when-you are in San Francisco.

Stayed here 10/26-29/2007 PRICE: I booked our room back in August through their website and got the Park and Play package ($199/nt) included Basic room, Parking and Breakfast for 2. Called reservations a few days before to guarantee late arrival and their manager upgraded us to a balcony room. (Business Plan floor) Clean, modern design and large by SF room standards and the most comfortable bed!! Room Service & Minibar are *very* overpriced - but hey its a 4 star hotel!!! Parking rates are now $55/night (in/out if you're guest) but I made sure to get a rate that included parking as we needed a car on this trip. ROOM: Balcony wasn't large, but was a nice touch for some fresh air. In-room safe was much appreciated and soft fluffy towels were great. I hate the smell of Portico bath products, so I brought my own. SERVICE: Evening turn down service was lovely. (Don't forget to tip housekeeping!) Concierge was able to secure us reservations late Friday night to one of SF's best Sushi resturants (Ozumo) with 10min notice. When running late for an appointment we realized we had left our sunglasses in the car. One of the valets ran down to our car, retrieved them & hand delivered them before we left the property on a *very* busy holiday weekend day. Never did make it to breakfast...Able to print out my boarding pass in the lobby before the airport! They have a Car Rental on site (Budget) if you want one at last minute. LOCATION: Hotel is close to all the tourist places w/o being right in the midst of them. Walking distance to shopping/Ferry building (great for a side trip to Sausalito!)/ BART Station/Street Car. 10min cab ride to Fisherman's Wharf/ Haight Ashbury (~$15) OVERALL: For a older, concrete, convention hotel, the Hyatt made a romantic weekend perfect by being polished and professional. I appreciated the service that was promptly there when needed & discreetly disappeared when not.

Pros: Service!!!, location, bed are uber-comfy, secured floors, housekeeping

Cons: Overpriced room service, Parking - if not included in room rate.

The main thing that bugged me about this place is that the website shows a beautiful view of the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge, but you can't actually SEE any of this from ANY of the rooms in the hotel! It's only visible from the walkways to and from the rooms. As a visitor from out of state, I would have appreciated a more honest approach from the website, since we ended up paying up for a room with a balcony and a view, which mostly consisted of the side of another building. I was also disappointed by the ""atrium,"" which houses like 20 fake ferns. Isn't an atrium supposed to be filled with lush [live] greenery??? Whatever. The rooms were okay, but a little small, and again, the view was less-than-impressive. The location was good for taking the trolley, shopping, and visiting the Saturday Farmers Market at the Ferry Building, but for us, it was too far from the other scenic sites (Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, etc.). Just make sure before you visit San Francisco, you really research where you want to go before booking the hotel.\r\nWe also saw SO many cute bed and breakfasts everywhere during our visit and would probably stay at one of those next time.

Pros: Close to shopping

Cons: Not really close to that much else, and not very well-appointed.

This hotel has a nice bar for mingling after work. I also recently stayed there and was very satisfied with the accommodations. The front desk staff were very nice and the rooms, were pristine, roomy and nice as well. \r\n\r\nThe location is pretty good too. You aren't in Union Square but there is the California St. cable car that picks up right in front of the hotel and can drop you off about a short block or two away from the heart of Union Square. \r\n

Wonderful location, everything that a traveler would need is never further than a cable car ride away. Comfortable rooms and good restaurants located within the hotel.

My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway at Hyatt for my birthday. The location was perfect, and when they heard that it was my birthday, they upgraded us to a larger suite with the view of the bay. It was simply stunning and it was perfect location for us to rediscover our city! Just put your walking shoes and enjoy the best of SF!!!

Stayed here on the weekend, after getting a good rate via priceline. The rooms are good sized, clean, and nicely furnished. Had problems with the plumbing in the bathroom, and the employee "reassured" me that this is common?! Staff was helpful and friendly. The downside was the cost of parking, which I recall as being close to $50 a night.

As a global business traveler, I have stayed in many hotels. Most are ok. What a terrific surprize to come back to the Hyatt Regency and find all the things I liked still there and all of the rooms all spruced up. The staff was very accomodating. The food and drink good. I slept like a log and the convenience \n\nThe hotel is still an amazing piece of architecture and seems almost classic. The views of the bay and bay bridge were terrific. I will be back.\n

I am from SF and had the priviledge of vacationing at the Hyatt on the 1st of the Year. My intention was to stay one night, however ended up staying three and had a blast. Perfect location, AWESOME design (inside and out) and good value. I especially recommend staying here if you are from out of town. It is near the Financial District which puts you right in the middle of everything.

The financial district has under gone such a fabulous change over the past few years, with the ""F"" Line, the Ferry Building renovations and so many hot restaurants adding to rennaisance. The Hyatt Regency is one of the best luxury hotels in the city. We recently stayed there and found the new rooms and service were great. Loved the views from the roof top revolving restaurant, Equinox. I also heard they are opening a new restauarnt featuring a steak house style. Would recommend to anyone.

A quick overnight was well taken care of at the Hyatt. From room service to comfortable beds~they accomodated very well. I was greeted by the staff each time I entered the hotel, and always asked if I needed a cab. I would stay here again.
