So I've worked there, and I can say with all honesty that the staff really does care about the patient's well-being and doing the right thing, and so do the doctors, but they get a little desensitized after working there for years. That didn't happen to me because nothing can desensitize me to people's pain, but that's me. It can actually be a problem for me, because I empathize with people so much that when they are hurting, I hurt too, as a doctor and also a human being. I'm glad I had the experience that I had, and I do recommend this office for people who have experienced an accident or serious injury, especially a work injury, simply because with this corporation and with these doctors, you will get what you need and they will fight for your rights, if your are entitled to them. However, a lot of times the laws in California tie their hands, but that is not their fault and they do everything they can under the current laws. They are good people, truly, and I am priveleged to have known them. If you or someone you know needs a spanish-speaking clinic, this is honestly the best place for you for that, because you or the person you know will be treated with respect and courtesy, and the staff all speak Spanish, so do the doctors for the most part.

Fact is I worked with the 'Corp' for a time and left of my own accord. I was a bit too altruistic a match for the clinic, sneaking in extra time with a patient, attempting to comfort some, giving a little bit of extra service, trying to advocate for the injured worker who had just been fired BECAUSE they reported a genuine onsite injury, or comforting someone who just needed a person to listen for a few extra minutes. However Id be advised that too much time (greater than 10 minutes) was being spent with the patient.

It seemed to me that too much emphasis was placed on increasing the amount of patients walking thru the door (300+ per week), rather than focusing on the satisfaction of the patient. I met some good doctors there who were simply trying to do a good job, who get chewed up and broken down all for the benefit of the corporation. While I understand its a business, my opinion is that we're suppossedly in the business of caring, not trying to eek out as much from insurance as possible.

Remember, at the very least, a good doctor actually listens to you and can recall your name and the problem you came in for without having to ask staff, teaches you to be independent, rather than dependent on them for your improvement, and really provides his/her VERY best, with your best interest at heart. Regardless of what discipline they practice.

I'll end on this note... I left shortly after a staff member said this to me, "Dr, you care now, but wait till you've been here for a while. I've seen it happen before. You focus on the patient but they'll make you focus on the numbers".

'nuff said.

Dr Rhodes never attended me, it was always his assistants. I saw Dr Rhodes once and he was telling a staff member not to be speaking spanish when he was around because he thought they were talking bad about him. I was told to come in alot of times and the procedure was always the same, it didnt matter what type of pain it was. My insurance was covered to the max until it ran out then the doctor didnt want to see me any more. the staff were ok, they did what they were told, like robots. the doctors didnt have time to really find out what was wrong and they did was adjust and thats it, like in and out. yes the staff speaks spanish, but i wouldnt recommend Dr Rhodes clinics to anyone

Dr. Rhodes and Co. have been in the bay area for over 20 years. They really took good care of me after my car accident. They not only know how to cure me of pain, but they also knew good lawyers to help me, and knew how to take care of my case so that there werent any problems. Dr. Rhodes, Dr. Jacobs, and Dr. Maybee are all great doctors, the staff was nice and knowledgable, and they all speak spanish too! Which was impressive.
