Acme Head and Body

I love Acme Head & Body! I always see Preston Nesbit; he is such an amazing stylist! I recently wanted my hair very short on the sides, as many men do, and I was totally expecting him to whip out the clippers. To my wonderful surprise Preston gave me a scissors over comb cut that got my sides just as short as clippers would, but with the added texture that only good hand cuts can give. It is this kind of extra class that makes this salon top notch! I love it!

Pros: The atmosphere, the stylist (Preston!), the vibe.

I am very HAPPY about my new haircut! That says a lot about me, as it is unusual for me to post about it. I, like many of you have had a few haircuts throughout my Fabulous life. Some were uneventful and some good. Yet it's been rare that I've recieved a REMARKABLE cut / style and perfect color! That is, until now. I'm new here and needed to find a quality stylist in a short amount of time. I EVEN contemplated driving back home to my old hairdresser! Needless to say it was hard to admit that living in a new city It was of the upmost IMPORTANCE THAT I GET A GOOD CUT/COLOR. With much reluctance I found acme( right here in fact) and took a gamble. I must say that I am TRULY PLEASED with the work that LIndsay @ ACME did for me. I am ELATED that I no longer need to search for just another MEDIOCRE stylist in the city. I was treated well and found the prices reasonable. Will definitely return when necessary and look forward to another positive experience. Thank you Lindsay for a cut / color WELL DONE.

I drive up from Sunnyvale just to see Preston. He is such a great Stylist; he always has great ideas, he always gives me all his attention, he always treats me right and makes me feel beautiful. It is worth the drive!

I was recommended to Lindsay by a friend, and although she is a bit more than the guy I've been going to for a few years, I'm committed. Thats saying alot for a guy who's been going to Supercuts until he was well into his mid-twenties...shes worth it. She's fast and fun, and we find ourselves laughing the entire time . Just the right touch of style without overdoing it. I've steered several of my friends her way, and they have become repeat customers as well. Anytime I get a compliment on my hair, no-joke, I give Lindsay's number. I'm not one to post comments, but after reading sanfranciscodiva's recent review I must say I have had the complete opposite experience. What confuses me about her review, is that Lindsay has a simple policy..if you're not happy...she'll fix it until your satisfied. Sanfranciscodiva, it must be noted, never expressed her dissatisfaction to Lindsay in person, just left a negative review here on citysearch. Its akin to giving a bad review at a four star restaurant without bothering to ask the chef to saycook your meat a bit more, or to bring it back with a bit more sauce...an implicit policy any chef would dutifully fulfill....hopefully the chef example isn't too much of a stretch, but you get the idea. Lucky for sanfranciscodiva, opinion's can't be wrong. I have never had a better haircut than the one's given to me by Lindsay. She's a bright, beautiful young woman, and a hell of a haircuttress, and now, a close friend...dont let her get you down Lindsay...I'll keep coming back!

I'm not normally the type to jump on my soapbox but when I read a bunch of bunk, I must protest. Lindsay has been cutting and coloring my hair for three years. I started seeing her when she was down in Southern California and I've followed her up to SF because I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else. Since she began working at Acme, I have driven up to SF from Orange County three times! Not only does she do a fantastic job cutting and coloring my hair, I trusted her to do my hair for my wedding last February! She is the only stylist that has managed to tame my thick, wild hair into a cut that lays, looks, and moves amazingly. In fact, my husband was so impressed by her abilities, he left his $15-a-haircut barbershop and started using her too! So, in response to SF Diva's negative post, Lindsay is a fabulous find.
Ignore the bad day rant of a first timer and trust the words of a regular...
Nobody does a better cut, color, or updo than Lindsay!

Pros: Fantastic, Friendly, and Fabulous!

Cons: Zip, Zilch, Nada.

This is a great salon with a fun, hip atmosphere. I've been there twice now, and I always go see Preston. I have very thick, hard to manage hair and he did a great job both times. Plus, he's very attentive and will make sure that you have an enjoyable experience. So if you're looking for a fabulous salon in this Union Square area, this is your place!

Lindsay has been doing my hair for years, and every time I leave the salon I feel like a supermodel. My highlights always look amazing, and she does a fantastic job cutting my hair. My favorite part is the massage at the shampoo bowl (Heaven). I also like how well she blowdries and finishes my hair. It always has that professional look to it, and I appreciate the time she puts into it. Check her out! She ROCKS!

Pros: Hip scene, Not too expensive, Great hair!!!

Cons: Parking was just okay, typical for downtown

Preston Nesbit and the staff at Acme continually provide excellent service at their salon. I'm growing my hair out and feel 100% comfortable with my hair stylist. I enjoy my experience at Acme.

Preston is the best!! So easy to work with, really gets what styles Im trying to explain to him. He is very professional and is a perfectionist, offers advice, and is a delight to be around. the salon is in a great location, hours are very accomodating. I couldnt be happier!

Preston Nesbit was my hair stylist and was soooo awesome. He was super nice, super friendly, and very talented. My hair never looked better, the cut and the style was more then I could have asked for. Plus, Preston dyed my eye lashes and now I don't have to worry about the tips of my lashes being lighter then the rest. I loved it and I for sure will be going back!

Pros: Sylist's are awesome, Saloon is super cute, Reasonably priced

Cons: None, I loved it all!
