This Shop is not listed under its true name....Previously located @ 8455 Loma Pl, Upland, CA 91786-4237, 909-982-7212, Its signage in Rancho Cucamonga now reads Aa Transmission Rebuilders and upon research Protech Transmission Specialties Work is also run out of the same address of 9310 Jersey Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730-4530 (909) 985-4884 there are two owners listed at this adress Sylvester Hill; for Aa & Keith Betts; for Protech. Quoted 3 days to rebuild my transmission (as did 2 dozen other shops) The first sign should have been when the tow truck they sent, already aware that my battery was dead, dragged my vehicle out to the street by back end (on the phone, Alex told me they would jump it) they then dropped the vehicle mid road to reposition to front tow...lifted my car so high I closed my eyes thinking it would flip over, after several attempts (with guidence from partner) they finally towed. After a few hours I went to the shop (no one called) to see what the diagnosis was..Alex said they would inspect it and have an answer by end of day. Next day he called saying other than the trans my vehicle was in "Cherry" condition (which I already knew) Asked for $1000 CASH DEPOSIT (which I foolishly paid), Then the nightmare pursued. the 3rd day was moved to 5th day then promised completion every day thereafter for a week, One ridiculous made up excuse after the other, including that a suspension bolt was broke (I blame the tow) & that the battery was empty of fluid and all over cables (again I blame the near somersault my vehicle made with the tow) Still not issues that should have added 2 weeks to the job. The garage has people with poor attitude who just glare at you when you show up and don't say a word (obviously knowing why you're there) till you address them regardless of how many times you return and your lucky if you get more than a "no", "don't know" or a shoulder shrug. They start work late (after 10 am or later at times) leave early and Closed on Saturdays (supposedly opened shop just for me, I called @ 10:30 no one working on my vehicle, when we went to inspect the place was closed for the day before noon ,and Alex admitted so when confronted) Alex used the excuse one time that the "Dad was in the hospital" and since the mechanics consist of brothers & nephews, shop stops for family issues. Next time I saw "dad" was 1 1/2 days later, he looked fine (but he is elderly future issues sure to arise). After my husband missed enough work cutting his work days to go pick up vehicle we let several more days pass without communication. My husband finally gave them an ultimatum to have car fixed by noon the next day or we would retrieve and go to court. Miraculously Alex called me at exactly 11:59 a.m. next day to say my vehicle was ready and Test Ran Perfectly, 16 days is how long they kept my vehicle hostage. When we arrived to pick up 3 of my tires were 1/2 way flat and when my husband took it for test, it came back dragging & making a horific noise..(proving they never took it out for a run like they claimed) Turned out something w/ the air conditioning (supposably) and so long as we don't run that it seems to run fine, holding my breath...because it's obvious to me their so called guarantee of 1 yr / 12k mi. is going to be worthless. Alex Hill titled "Principal" is nothing more than a Salesman w/ the gift of gab on the phone, but in person reeks of and appears under the influence of Alchohol. On one unannounced visit w/ my own Dad, Alex was in such a state and a long neck bottle of something was peaking out from a photo frame on his office desk; If not for the poor service and delays I would not have held that against him as I know some people who have drinking issues but still put in a full days quality work daily, Alex however was not conducting business in a functional manner in my situation.
