I generally do not give any business a completely negative review, but in this case there is nothing positive to say. I didn't listen to myself and went three times. The cut was terrible each time. The prices are outrageous for what you

I finally gave up on Oya after 10 or so visits. My first stylist left for another firm so I tried another. While she was very nice, she just could not get my hair to come out right. It wasn't just that the styling was not right for me or my hair type - which it was not. The last two times the sides were not even - one side was significantly longer than the other. I went in for a touch up once, but it happened again and I was not willing to go back for another touch-up. The last straw was when I wore a blouse to work that I had last worn for a highlight. Unfortunately I did not notice until I was at work that the highlight solution had stained the collar of the blouse. If she had told me when it occurred, then I might have salvaged the blouse, but it was too late. OK, dumb move on my part to wear a decent blouse to a highligh (and to not check it out before driving to work), but she could have at least told me about it.
On the plus side, the highlight I received was excellent.

just got my hair done last week and I'm still excited about it. I decided to grow it out so Matt gave me a cut to help me get it going properly. I washed and styled it myself today and it still looks great.

The main thing I love about the oya experience is the people. Everyone is having fun and happy. If I didn't need a haircut I feel like I could grab a coffee and just sit and read magazines and gab for a few hours with anyone who works there. How rare is it not to feel intimidated by a salon??

sure, you can get a haircut anywhere, but who realy JUST wants a haircut? If you want style, atmosphere, and true hair genious, OYA hair salon is the right place for you. The staff, including Katie at the front desk, is very knowledgeable and upbeat. They will find the perfect cut and color for you.
I absolutely love this salon.
pros: hair, fashion, art , music, knowledge
cons: everybody loves it so make an appointment

I was surprised to read some of the reviews here. I have been going to Oya for some time now and have been treated as a valued customer over and over. My stylist, Harmony, has created the best haircut and color combination that I have ever had. I always thought I had horrible hair until Harmony created a look that suits me perfectly. Kudos to Brian for putting on a great show-

Pros: Parking in back for those 2 hour cut and color appointments

Cons: Music can be a bit loud but I find this to be a problem in many stores and businesses

I also went into Oya salon and had my hair ruined! I went in and asked for highlights and left with my hair darker than when I went in and over $300 less in my pocket. Its a shame because they have such nice products! I will never go back for any salon service, but I will buy thier shampoo!

Pros: They brought me back for a second service to "correct" thier mistake- but I still had to fix it myself even after a second time!

Cons: bad service, talentless, no technique in hair care!

Okay people...if you want your hair done by real hair and beauty professionals,
go to San Francisco or Los Angeles..Don't even bother with this lagging and behind the times salon...because this place did not only ruin my hair, they were totally rude and can't get your hair right at all! First of all, as you walk in Oya, you are immediately bombarded with this clashing wall painting that doesn't match the decor that says: "FRESH"..well let me tell you, they were not even close to being "FRESH", since the style and cut they gave me, was totally something done back in 1999..I mean, please!!!!!!!!!!!!.....for what they charged me, I could have driven to San Francisco and actually enjoyed myself ,while getting the real deal from a real salon. I also felt uncomfortable with my stylist and some of the staff because I tried to make conversation and I felt disregarded and the whole place is pretentious. Oya is totally overrated and it's obvious they are more concerned about decorating the salon with bad oversized paintings and sad seat cushions than hair ! I specifically told the stylist that I wanted a shorter length and all I ended up with was some lame style I didn't even want and if anything, the stylists here either need to go back to beauty school or get some training from real hair professionals. I felt like they rushed me and just wanted to make a quick buck, so they could get to the next client. I also felt that for what they charged me for the terrible quality and style, I could have gone to a upscale salon in the city where the stylists were trendsetters and not lagging behind . I was so upset, I didn't even bother to argue about it..and I felt like the stylist was a newbie and did not know what to do at all. I felt like Oya was a "Poser" salon that didn't live up to being what a true beauty salon is all about. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! I felt rushed, ignored and most of all the salon lacked true talent. My worst hair salon experience.

I love this salon. The service is great, the people are friendly, and the atmosphere is progressive and beautiful. Oya is the among the community leaders in getting people involved with fashion. Oya is what a great salon is about; helping people look great and having fun while doing it. It's all about art, fashion, and great hair with these poeple ... check them out.

I DO NOT recommend this salon to anyone. I have the WORST experience there. My hair was ruined and I got my money back (that was nice). The staff is not really friendly....just don't go there if you want good-worth your money service.
