I always get gift certificates for my friends at this spa. The location is great and this specific Burke Williams is the most friendly. Whenever I have personally gone there, the massage therapists are all professional and excellent. I usually get the deluxe session of "Pure Relaxation". Wow, when I walk out of there I feel like I am walking on the clouds. Great stuff :)

Ive gone here 4 times just hoping that the next time would be better than the other but it just keeps getting worse. Ive had one therapist complain about the pay and the point system that BW has, another one who was sick (hence the sniffling and coughing through the massage), one that kept hitting my spine during a deep tissue massage and another that shouldn't be massaging in the first place! This place is a mess! Would never go back!

Sent my Mother there for her birthday, she had the full day spa treatment and made her feel great. Lots of little extras that made it nice.

I know there are a lot of fans of Burke Williams out there, and after hearing about it for years I was excited when a gift card came my way. So tonight I tried the Hollywood location. It's big, it's clean and the front desk staff are impeccably polite which is refreshing. However, as nice as everyone is there, the atmosphere was weirdly impersonal. The halls are big & institutional; the lounge area is very doctor's waiting room and crowded. The Pure Relaxation massage I received was maybe a B, though the hot towels were great; but the therapist while saying all the right things wasn't really present & I didn't feel any of the pampering or personal connection I feel when I go to smaller LA day spas. And the location in a mostly deserted shopping center was similarly hollow. When another gift card comes my way I won't give it away, but I'll try a different location and maybe go for a facial instead of a massage.

I have been to the Burke Williams in Sherman Oaks and I thought it was okay. Last week I went to Bruke Williams West Hollywood after a horrible experience at Spa Luce in Hollywood. I was surprised at the facility. It's huge and I love the real fire in the waiting room! Jordan gave me a massage and 80 minutes flew by. He was polite. I love the locker facility with the many different spas. Very nice. I want to take my girlfriends for a spa day. My only complaint was how busy it was. Good for them but bad for me. I will be going back.

I went to BW in Hollywood for the first time on Wed night and had a fabulous facial! She was so nice and answered all of my questions, it was the best facial I have ever had. I love the organic products. I will go back and ask for Rochelle again. The facility was very peaceful and smelled wonderful.

I had always heard about BW, but recently had my first visit at the West Hollywood location, located inside the Virgin building on Sunset. It's been a hectic week, so I arrived feeling wired, tense and knotted up. Don't we all?? I had a deluxe relaxation massage by "Tiffany". She was wonderful! She really knew how to give a good massage, with the right pressure and intensity. She really took care of me before and after the treatment. I felt quite sleepy and really relaxed when she was done. I'd definitely go back to her. Highly recommended!

Pros: atmosphere, customer service, variety of treatments, skill, comfort, dimmed lighting for eye comfort after treatment

Cons: A little pricey, great lockers rooms, but lacks good privacy when changing.

The staffs are extremely friendly. The services and massages are worth every dollar spent. The only draw back, in the changing rooms, it's too much of a "cruze" zone.

I admit I am a little bit picky. When I asked my facialist how long she had been a facialist, she told me less than a year. Considering the price-tag, I want someone more experienced. She only did extractions on my nose, and had a way-too light touch.

My massage was a little bit better, but considering I asked for deep-tissue from a man (I am a 120 pound woman), and he could not, (or did not feel comfortable) giving me any real elbow or deep work, I was not too happy.

The facilities are the best in town. Great hair products, full bar of skin care, and wonderful steam room.

If you want a good facial or massage in West Hollywood, go to Euphoria. They may not have a shower, but the facials/massage are way way better.

i went to burke williams on my birthday for the first time and chose the west hollywood location for it's convenience. i got the shiatzu/sweedish combination massage. it was 80 minutes, which i was nervous about because sometimes too much of a good thing can be too much not to mention hot, etc. but it was really great. the only thing really negative was the atmosphere.

while waiting for my massage i was sitting in their lounge which reminded me more of a lawyer's office than a spa sancutary. not to mention the fact that i was sitting there in just a robe and 2 creepy looking guys who must have been there for some sort of a job interview (they were eventually collected by a manager looking person) were told to wait in this same lounge. definitely NOT appropriate. that being said, i would go back to get that massage.

Burke Williams has been in the forefront for SoCal day spas for a long time. They appeared to have the expertise to back them up. Boy, was I wrong! I made reservations via their website and received a confirmation number. I was half-an-hour early for my appointment and they couldn't find me on their register and my confirmation number didn't help matters. All they could offer was an appointment an hour later, which was not an option. They claim their website and online reservations weren't reliable. When I asked why they even have this faulty service, they wouldn't provide an honest answer. No other customer service was offered.

all the services are great, nice facilities...perfect place for a gift without gambling on the spa quality. it isn't very original, and it is there's a lot of traffic at the 8000 sunset locale...but i'm always happy when i leave.

It has been a long time since I have been to Burke Williams Spa. I was given a gift certificate for a massage by a dear friend (a devoted BW fan) and finally redeemed it last night at their Sunset location.

What a huge disappointment. The massage itself was actually pretty good, but everything else was a mess. The sauna was broken and the spa seemed run down and outdated (picture black and white photos of Hollywood legends on the wall...as if they would ever go there).

The best part came when I went to pay with my gift certificate...they couldn't find it in the system! I had the actual Burke Williams card, but for some reason there was nothing in their system that showed the certificate in my hand even existed! They checked the purchaser's account, used the serial number on the certificate...nothing.

Even though it was obvious that this was some sort of glitch on their end, they had the nerve to ask me to fork over $150 to cover the cost until they were able to "sort things out." I was promised a call this morning by the spa manager at which point I was told I would be credited the charge, but it's already 1pm and mum's the word.

When all was said and done, I remembered why I always leave there saying, "I'm never going back to Burke Williams again." I just left a message for the manager...stay tuned for the final chapter of "Burke Williams...beyond the nightmare."

Today I had my first visit to Burke Williams for a french manicure and pedicure. I was able to have full use of the spa and it really was as relaxing as I imagined. Steam room, sauna, whirlpool...the Quiet Room with a couple of fresh cucumber slices over my eyes... sigh, really nice. Then there was the mani/pedi - my technician was Marta who was fabulous and gave me some beautifully shaped nails. After, I lounged in the lounge - thinking the pampering was over - when another worker surprised me with a cup of tea and a cool, aromatherapy washcloth she placed on my neck. Ahhh... sitting by the fire, letting the nails dry... there aren't a lot of sincerely Zen-vibes in LA, but the excellent staff provided that to one tired girl today. Thanks BW!

Yes, it was crowded. Yes, my facialist was running 15 minutes late. Aside from that, though, the facilities were well maintained, the facialist did a great job and overall I found the whole experience quite enjoyable. I will probably try to go during the week next time, though, as it was a little hectic on a Saturday afternoon.

If you wat to relax this is NOT the place. There seems to be a feeling that there is always something wrong within the inner walls of this place. The men's facilities are cramped and the locker room has become inconsiderate and unfirendly. This could be that many seem to only speak spanish and are continually running in and out of the steam and sauna. The ability to relax just is not there.

I have been going to Burke Williams for over 5 years and I have almost always had a WONDERFUL experience. I find the place relaxing and the service excellent.

I have tried many other skin specialists and I have never found anyone better than Bianca. She is friendly, professional, and gives EXCELLENT waxes. I continue to go to Burke Williams because of Bianca; however, I always have a relaxing experience when I do go - it has kept me sane during some of the most stressful times in my life!
