Just wanted to thank my sales guy at south bay bmw ( chris mcclenon) for helping me in securing the best deal possible for my car lease. I have dealt with a lot of sales agent int eh past (from ford, land rocer, toyota), but chris, by far is the best. Let's just say that buying a car isn't what i call a pleasant experience, but christ certainly made it more tolerable by minimizing the haggling and the usual car buying back and forth. if you are looking for a new bmw, christ mcclenon is the best out there at south bay bmw. thanks again, chris!!!!

They can not fix simple stuff. They wait until car is out of warranty to make money. \r
BMW cars seems to have all sorts of mechnical prolems after your warranty expires.

Bought my first BMW (sorry- not from South Bay) last year and have taken here for both services so far. It's close to my office and they offer shuttle service so very convenient. The customer service is really good = very attentive to

I purchased a new 2011 535i through European Delivery. When the car was delivered at the West Coast and through the dealer, it had a damaged rear bumper. They blamed it on VDC or port transportation and agreed to reimburse me for the $1600

I've had great service the last three times I've gone in to South Bay BMW. I love the service and I love my car, and I would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much!

I have to admit, going to South Bay BMW in Torrance, CA was a trip. Yes, it was terrible that my car, a 2006 M3 convertible, had to be serviced for hitting a speed bump a little too fast. But that's the price of joy.

I have purchased several vehicles from SBBMW and each time I have been more than satisfied with the service. They always have tons of cars and are pretty competitive with their pricing. I typically don't do a lot of reviews but I felt

The Customer service department is horrible. They do not have the customers interest in mind. Rack up the cost and till you that there tech can not find the problem and need more service fees. If you get a BMW your fine until the warranty runs out, then this dealer has you by you know what. find a small bmw service and forget about taking it here. And good luck calling the manager you will not get a call back.

How about NO STARS!!!

The ABSOUTLE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had dealing with a BMW shop hands down. I own a 2005 BMW 545i and I went in for a routine brake fluid flush and a safety recall (which is free to repair of course) and they

If I could give no stars I would. If you want a Mini GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! The worst customer service imaginable. Call after call and no one will ever call you back. Sales will lie through their teeth to get you into a car. Service Dept. is full of liars and cheats. Below is a letter written to the Manager. It's been 2 days now and he won't return may calls or write back.

Hello,
I purchased a 2010 mini cooper hard top from your dealership in April 2010. On Jan 6th I discovered that my car in fact did not have the runflat tires that I was told that it had by your salesman Travis Mark. At the time of sale your salesman and financial man upstairs pressured me for at least 15 min to purchase your runflat insurance. I'm glad I opted out of that one since your sales department blatantly lied about what kind of tires were on my car. I do not appreciate being lied to. I have brought up the concern multiple times with various people within your company and the overall response is "There's nothing we can do about it now.". Really!!?? You lied about certain features my car had but now that all the paperwork has been signed there's nothing you're willing to do?

On Jan 8th I brought my car into your service to inspect the tires to ensure if they were runflat or not (they concluded that they were not runflat). End of story. No apology, no offer to rectify the situation. I also asked about the armrest option. They told me there was one style and it came in gray or black. No other information was offered to me. I asked if it was decent and if people that had it installed liked it or were there complaints. My reply "Oh, everyone loves it and it is one of our most popular installations." There was no armrest for me to look at, not even a picture to go by, so I took your so-called experts word for it and gave the go ahead for the installation.

When I picked up my car I was immediately horrified. I could barely access my emergency brake (a safety hazard I'm sure) and I had difficulty shifting my manual transmission. The armrest is also at a height that is incredibly uncomfortable and to my dismay it won't fold up to a complete upright position. NONE of these things were mentioned when I asked if there were issues with it.

I called the service dept. immediately regarding all of my issues. I left multiple messages. No one would ever call me back. At last I got a hold of Vatche (sic) and he said he would talk to his manager. I never heard back. At last I asked for Jeremy Guenther directly bypassing Vatche. He informed me that these were known issues with the armrest (he was not willing to address the issue of the tires). KNOWN issues??!! I was told that EVERYONE loved the armrest and there were no complaints. He told me that he would refund me for the part but not the labor to install or uninstall. So I am out of $308.00 because your employees weren't honest with me... AGAIN?

I have reported your company to the Better Business Bureau. I am willing to append my complaint if you will take out the armrest and refund me for ALL labor. I believe with the price difference of the tires alone this is a reasonable request. I am not asking for new tires or to keep the armrest. I just want the armrest gone and a complete refund of parts and labor.

If you are willing to do this I will continue to be a loyal customer. If not the complaint with the Better Business Bureau will stand and I will post negative reviews about your company on EVERY public forum out there. I will not recommend your company to anyone and direct everyone to other locations.

Watch out For South Bay BMW's service department!
They initially very courteus. (as they ripped off BMW and me). the first couple of maintenance warranty services. They told me brakes were worn out and they replaced the brakes and rotors. I questioned this because my car was only 6 months old, but trusted their word. The second time the service writer said my check engine light was on and they replace a sensor switch. The light was never on and they charged this to warranty. The last visit, I was 300 miles out of warranty, and they charged me $110 to replace a the left headlight bulb because i was out of warranty. I replaced the right headlight bulb my self for $10 and it took 2 minutes. Later after I complained to the Better Businesss Burearu, South Bay BMW admitted they overcharged me $55 . After hearing their admission, I demand and received a fulll refund.

The sad thing about this whole ordeal was my lease was tolling and I was going to buy a new Mini from them. I broke my appointment after being treated so rudely. South Bay BMW and MINI lost a customer for good.

Pros: they write service with a smile

Cons: The smile is probably because they are writing up a phoney service order
