Unable to contact anyone there! Home owner is 80 yrs old and waiting for work to be completed. She is not alone I will help my mom till the end on this matter.

My Home Owners Association has been involved in a contract valued at approximately a quarter of a million dollars with Fireplace Freddy inc. involving the remediation of construction defects contained within our chimney chases. Fireplace Freddy inc. has conformed to the contract and has supplied excellent company representatives on our project.

The guys at Fireplace Freddie who recently did my chimney job not only did exactly what they said they would do, but they were very methodical, clean (no mess left at the jobsite) and courteous in the process.

I'm an architect. I know what a job is supposed to look like. And in case anyone thinks I might have just taken their word for what they said - I took a flashlight and looked up the chimney myself as part of my OWN inspection. Everything was there that was supposed to be there. These guys did the job correctly and demonstrated that they know their business. It was a very positive experience.

If you love getting the run around, if you want your job to be drawn out for almost three months, if you love waiting at home for workmen to arrive late and if you love being told one thing and having another thing occur . . . than Fireplace Freddie's is for you! Had over $6,000 worth of work done . . . replaced chase cover, removed pipes to the elbow, installed lower and upper firestops, replaced damaged elbow (which had to be custom made), reinstalled the pipes, installed vertical firestopping at attic area, installed gas fire logs. Work began on October 13th. I told Devon (who is now no longer with the company) that I had a house warming party on November 7th. He promised that my fireplace would be done by November 7th well, guess what . . . the custom order part didn't come in. The part didn't come in until November 24th. Work finally began again on December 2nd. They worked on December 2nd and 3rd and still had more work to do! They had to get another part . . . they finally came back on December 17th to install the part and hook up my fire logs. By the way . . . the same workers rarely return. One person tells you one thing, another tells you something else and a supervisor never stops by to check on the work. I was told by one worker that the inside of the firebox still needed some work, when the next crew came out to finish the job . . . they knew nothing about it. I have complained several times . . . most of the time the blame is put entirely on the workers. It is all unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend Fireplace Freddie's to anyone. They have made inconsistent, false statements and promises throughout the entire job.

Pros: The workers who did the actual work were polite.

Cons: Make promises that they can't keep. Their word is inconsistent.

As a property inspector having inspected 1000's of homes, I have very exacting standards when anyone works on any of MY properties. In the last 4 years, I have had Fireplace Freddie work on three separate properties, of three very different degrees of concern, and have found them to be a very thorough and caring group. In other words, all 3 of the jobs- start to finish- came off without a hitch. I have referred this company to dozen's of clients who I've inspected for and will continue to, as I've found them to be a tremendous resource.
I recommend them highly!

They gave us an estimate based on a variety of things that we "needed" to do for our safety and for the long-term stability of our structure. When we told them that the fireplace inspector had given us a similar list of things for more than $1000 less, all of a sudden many of those things disappeared. I have no problem with companies negotiating price -- that is expected. But it came across as very shady that the price dropped so substantially so quickly.

Pros: Very responsive

Cons: Very expensive and trying to upsell

I would like to wholeheartedly recommend ?Fireplace Freddie? to you if you are considering having any work done on your fireplace. Not only are they competent and honest, they are a pleasure to have in your home! We had extensive work done at our prior place of residence in Bel Air and then again at our new home in Brentwood. We have complete confidence in them and cannot imagine using any other company.

I wanted to take a moment and comment on the wonderful service call I had a few days ago from your company. Greg and Brandon came up, on time, and spent considerable time explaining what options might be available to my wife and I in solving our fireplace issues.

We live in a 1926 historic home so having people that not only want to fix the problem, but to keep the integrity of the historic nature and aesthetics was very much appreciated. Their willingness to listen to my questions, look carefully at the entire fireplace and the inspection report, and then to begin to formulate various solutions was great to see. In this age where customer service seems to be a lost art, it was so refreshing to see people wanting to help, looking for the solution that would be best for the client.

I don't usually bother to write these things, but I just came to this site looking for the phone number for Fireplace Freddy so I can have them work on my fireplace, and saw some negative reviews here, which made me want to tell about the completely positive experience we had with them.

They worked on my mom's fireplace - she bought her house without getting a fireplace inspection, which was a mistake and it ended up needed a lot of work. Someone recommended Fireplace Freddy's to me, so she called them. They were great. The work was done in time, the guys were nice, they really knew their stuff, the inspector they used was really professional and knowledgeable. Trustworthy company. I did find it hard to reach them a couple of times, but give me a break everyone gets busy and they are a small company - you gotta keep trying. The main point is the work - good work, done correctly, in time, at a fair price is a lot more important to me than being smooth-talked but not getting a good job done, which I've seen a lot in this city...

Pros: Knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy

Fireplace Freddie has shown the most professional outstanding service in all matters concerning our fireplace. They diligently attempted to repair my exisitng fireplace, and only AFTER not being able to get the parts (manufactured discontinued) did they sell me a new fireplace. Their followup and service has been fantastic. Our representative/inspector Greg Butler, was more than outstanding, and the actual installers were first quality.

Pros: The best of the best
