What a lot of you people don't understand is you are not legally obligated to deal with a third-party collection agency. If they try to sue you, it is worthless to them because they did not provide you with the loan. They purchased your debt from the original debtor or they will get a percentage of the loan if they can scare you into paying them. Just ignore them and pretty soon they will go away, if it gets too bad change your telephone number. You can also write them a "cease & desist" letter that will it illegal for them to call you.

Continental Collection Agency is the anal sphincter of collection agencies, especially Mike Montana -- he is truly the scum of the earth. I cosigned a 12-month lease for my son and daughter-in-law back in 2004. They honored that lease and upon renewal, I decided not to cosign. The complex accepted their renewal without my signing. When they breached the lease 6 months later, I received a phone call from a woman at Coldwell Banker Commercial asking me if I was going to take responsibility for my kids. I asked her what planet she was on. That angered her. 6 months after my son moved out, I started getting calls from Mike Montana. He told me that I had breached the lease. I tried to explain to him that I only signed up for the initial 12-month lease and that I was no longer obligated. He then wanted me to tell him the whereabouts of my son. I told him if even if I knew, I'd never tell him. I told him to find him himself because that's what he's getting paid to do and not to expect any help from me. He got frustrated and hung up on me. He kept calling me and writing his idiot letters. Whoever composed those letters must not have completed high school. I would have been embarrassed to sign anything like that because in doing so, you tell the world you're an idiot too, even if you weren't the one who wrote the letter. Then, I told him that I wouldn't consider anything unless he proved to me that I owed the money. He sent me another idiot letter with copies of the lease and a rider (which supposedly extended the original lease) which was only signed by my son and his wife. He also sent me the list of bogus damages and other charges. The 3 months rent and trumped up damages that my kids supposedly owed didn't nearly come to $5500. Since I refused to pay anything because I didn't owe anything, I told him to go to he!!. He threated to damage my credit. I told him if he did, I'd hire an attorney. He followed thru with his threat and damaged my credit. I hired a lawyer who examined all the documentation he sent me (the idiot!) and used that information against him. My attorney wrote to him and told him that he was in direct violation of the laws of the Federal Trade Commission and a couple of other things. He damanded that he correct the records of the 3 credit bureaus or he would be turned in and his business shut down. That was 4 years ago. Well, here comes Mr. Idiot Sphincter again. This time he located my son and has brought suit again him, only this time, the money is doubled (nearly $8,000). Since I have all that documentation he sent me in 2006, it's time to resurrect it again and shove it up his smelly, fat a$$. What a loser.

I contracted with this company to collect a debt from a tenant who skipped on her lease. The reason I got into this financial mess with Continental Collection is not diputable by me. It was an Apartment that I broke a lease on. I had a roomate who broke the lease as well. He shares in the debt. CC couldnt find him so they came after me. My wages were garnished. After consenting that I had no choice but to keep my job and pay my debt, I asked SHERRY if my Former Roomate would be helping pay CC along with me. SHERRY told me my Former Roomate was unemployed. That was a lie. I knew he had a job, but they coulnt track him down. I asked Sherry for a decrease in my ganishment, currently at 25% weekly, if I could provide them with job status and address of FR, SHERRY agreed. It took a few months, but I eventually tracked FR down through mutual friends. I called CC and gave SHERRY the scoop. When I asked again for the decrease in garnishment, based on the information I provided, SHERRY changed her tune. She told me that I was offered a lump sum settlement if paid by July. Since I was offered the settlement and couldnt come up with the 2000 dollars by July, the decrease request was not accepted. Now I dont know if this is a fair business practice or not, but something is not right!!! I still have a balance of $1500, I have paid $2150(at 25% a week), and FR is still not being garnished!!!! Can someone help?

I worked for CCA briefly, two years ago and found it to be one of the most unprofessional e environments I have ever encountered. The collectors violate the FDCPA and the boss is a wing nut.

Mike the collector seems to be getting a lot of press, so we'll start with him. He constantly "forgets to read the mini Miranda and he goes to websites of companies that have accounts with debtors he is looking for and sets up web accounts for them! He impersonates them by using there ss # and creates a password for them, than he goes into there account and gets all kinds of personal information about them.

The president is an evil which who laughs whenever she causes anyone else pain. She took great pleasure when people would tell her they couldn't feed there kids because she was garnishing their wages. She encouraged the collectors to make fun of a collector with a physical disability. She would be laughing one minute and crying the next. Her partner (sugardaddy/ husband) is a 420 guy who doesn't know or care what??s going on and gets mad when you ask a question.

These people are DESPICABLE. I have been getting threatening letter for almost 4 months now. The letters generally start out with "Do you really think it is smart to avoid us?" "Do you want to have us embarrass you at work by having your ages garnished" "We are trying to help you avoid the embarrassment of a law suit" and they say "The problem will not go away of you avoid us--It will only get worse".

Some of these statements are obvious and blatant threats. They threaten to ruin your livelihood. They will not listen to facts or reason regrading my "so called" debt. asked to move out of my apartment. I was told If I did so voluntarily to avoid both parties eviction cost that I could leave without having penalties for breaking my lease. THEY ASKED ME TO GO. I would have stayed until my lease was over if I knew they would do what they did. A few months after moving I was sent a collection notice for fees associated with "early lease termination" and damage that was there when I moved in as well as water damage done by a leak from the apartment above me. I have been yelled at and called a lazy freeloader when I tried to explain the situation. This company is staffed by power hungry ego maniacs.

I have filed a negative complaint with the Bee Bee Bee every time a letter has arrived. I would NOT RECOMMEND that anyone do business with this company or anyone they represent. This includes Willow Creek Apartments.

I would never work with them again as it was a pain, especially the main collector, Mike, who is arrogant, rude, and a real d1ck. As if he wasn't working for me! Mike failed to perform with one of my clients and when I approached him about it, he ended up spinning it around as if I was to blame! I am working with this agency now. I have proof that someone messed our lease up, but everytime I have contacted them, the intrest goes up by 100 to 150.00.In a matter of days. I told them I had pictures of damage when we moved in. I asked to recieve all the documents that they have, that says I was on the lease. I was not on the lease and every time I have tried to work out something, they hang up on me. This agency has no respect for the people who owe debts. I understand there are people out there who get their property trashed and move out early. I am not one of those. They refuse to understand those who owe the debt, if you say they are wrong they hang up on you. If I was a Landlord, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am completely frustrated with this company. They are stealing my money. I paid the rent on time for each month. Now, we put our mattress in the trash, it was filled with bed bugggs. This is the first time I have ever rated anything. I just really felt I needed to because I am so upset with the way I have been treated by Mike. I was a tenant at Cedar Creek Club Apartments for 1 horrifying year. I moved out when my lease was up and had paid everything I owed. The manager did walk through with me and gave me a letter of reference for my new place. He also told me that I would receive my $99 deposit back. Well I never got my deposit back but I blew it off. Two years later, I began receiving threatening letters from Continental Collection Agency. I spoke with Mike, who had a very rude attitude toward me. I told him that I didn't owe them any money. I was paid in full before I moved out. He told me that he was just trying to collect a debt and that I had to pay it. When I told him that I had no intention on paying money that I did not owe, he hung up on me. For 2 years I have received letters from them and I told them that I still was not paying this bill that I did not owe. Now they are taking me to court for the collection of this false debt. I spoke to Mike again today and told him that I have a letter of reference from Cedar Creek Club Apartment and that I have A receipt stating that I was paid in full. He then rudely said to me "we have spoken about this before and you didn't tell me you had that". I told him well I do have receipt and I have pictures of the living conditions I had to endure while living in the apartment. I told him that I had received their offer to settle out of court and I had no intention of paying this false bill and that I planned on counter suing Cedar Creek Club Apartments. Mike then told me that if I had that stuff I would've already used it and that they would see me in court and then proceeded to hang up on me again. I tried to call back to make a complaint on him once and for all and there was no answer. He wonders why they haven't seen my evidence. HOW?

This is the first time I have ever rated anything. I just really felt I needed to because I am so upset with the way I have been treated by Mike. I was a tenant at Cedar Creek Club Apartments for 1 horrifying year. I moved out when my lease was up and had paid everything I owed. The manager did walk through with me and gave me a letter of reference for my new place. He also told me that I would receive my $99 deposit back. Well I never got my deposit back but I blew it off. Two years later, I began receiving threatening letters from Continental Collection Agency. I spoke with Mike, who had a very rude attitude toward me. I told him that I didn't owe them any money. I was paid in full before I moved out. He told me that he was just trying to collect a debt and that I had to pay it. When I told him that I had no intention on paying money that I did not owe, he hung up on me. I am actually one of Continental Collection Agency's clients. I am a property owner and use CCA to collect my money back from the losers who destroy my property. I recently had one awful couple who skipped out 7 months early on their lease and trashed my rental house. You should have seen the number they did to my property, cat & dog feces everywhere, (how can these slobs live like that?), holes in the walls & doors, stains on the carpet, a real nighmare for a property owner. They two were experts at escaping their debt and hiding their assets, so I turned over the account to Continental. I just received the final check from them that they collected for these tenants from hell. It only took CCA one year to collect the full balance plus interest. Now I have recouperated my losses from the costly repairs it took to get my property back to rentable condition. The other reviews on this website seem to be from the kind of people who trashed my property, not clients like me who just want their money back for their investment. Thank you Continental Collection Agency for not letting these losers get away with trashing my property without paying for it.

She told me I dont know what you don't understand about that but that your problem. I dont have to be nice to you. I used to live at Citadel Village Apartments and was a faithful and responsible resident of theirs for 3+ years. I decided almost AT the end of my last lease that they weren't putting forth any effort in KEEPING me as a resident, so I wasn't going to renew. I moved out on October 16, 2007, and I they summoned me to court on October 22, 2007, demanding repossession of the apartment - this was a waste of my time since I was already moved out. At court, I specifically asked the lawyer if there were any fees (lawyer fees or otherwise) I'd have to pay and he said no, and that they were only demanding repossession of the apartment. Open and close case.
... until I get a call from Continental Collection Agency, saying I now owe almost $900 for non-payment of rent and so on. As you can imagine, I was completely surprised by this, having handed a pro-rated check and my keys in already. At first, I figured the "paperwork" was behind somehow, just the same way that the court paperwork was behind. I originally spoke with Todd, who seemed to be quite a (omitted) to me - he spoke over me, he kept cutting me off, and I wasn't having it. He must have been having a bad day because he got better eventually. Then, I got a call from Mike, who seemed pretty easy to talk to at first. He ended up being even WORSE. So now, I only ask to talk to Todd, who seems to be willing to work with me for the most part, and because I don't want to tell my life story to every person that works there. I think Todd might actually be a good person if he weren't being paid to bully people over the phone. And that's exactly what they DO get paid for. I could have ignored them altogether, but I wanted to make sure that my responsibilities were being taken care of.. and I am. However, the agency REALLY needs to tighten up their process. Get proof of served papers, and be sure to READ over all the documentation and make sure you have a case if your company is the one making threats.

I was a co-signor for my son and daughter-in-law in my dealings with Continental Collection Agency, Ltd. On first-call, they threatened to garnishee my wages and seize my home for less than $2000.00. When I called back to respond to these threats, Todd came on the line. He initially couldn't understand why I had an "attitude" when they were threatening my livlihood. After hanging up on him, he called back and I was impressed with his willingness to try and work with me, however I wasn't willing to work out anything until I had lawyers (Pre-Paid Legal) review the contract. I had my lawyers check out my agreement and they determined that I was only responsible for 1 month rent and no other fees.

When I tried to call Continental Collection Agency and make a deal, Jucinda passed me to Linda. When I tried to explain what was happening, she questioned my understanding of the situation and ended up hanging up on me when I told her she wasn't listening to me. When I called back to give her hell, I was left on hold. This response was totally unprofessional and OUT_OF_LINE! She also questioned the findings of my lawyers and was going to have their lawyers check the conditions of the contract. WHY DIDN'T THEY DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE??????

Most of these employees have absolutely no respect for other humans and shouldn't be in business. It's hard enough for responsible people to go through collections without this total disregard for humanity and economic conditions. I just hope Linda has to go through this experience on the other end to see what it feels like to be disregarded and disrespected. I'm also going to complain to the appropriate authorities about employees' actions and policy on first-calls.

Today I spoke with a layde name Linda who works with Continental Collection Agency in denver, Co who was very very disrespectfull in everyway on how to treat a customer. She wouldnt really explain anything to me when i asked a question to her.

She spoke to me with an under class tone and treated me like i didnt understand english and i would never want to talk to a person like Linda from this agency who can not perform her job and explain the situation to her customers. I feel that Ms. Linda needs to be train again on how to help a customer out and not to DISGRACE there problems and try to be helpful.
