Villa Tatra is a perfect spot to stop for Polish food on the way to or from Estes Park. Named after the magnificent Tatra Mountains in Poland, the restaurant's boats authentic, great tasting comfort food.

As a Polish person, I really enjoy Villa Tatra. The only problem is that the menu is a bit limited and rustic. I wish there were more Polish restaurants in Colorado that showed the other side of Polish cooking. That being said, the barszcz is excellent and of course, Tyskie and Okocim are available by the bottle. Don't skip dessert! Smacznego!

Pros: Authentic, interesting location, established for 30 years

Cons: I wouldn't mind seeing a more varied menu

This chalet style restaurant serves fine Slavic foods (eg, Polish). No big globs of food, but finely cut up and spiced (which also means not big portions). And, take the time to see the arts-and-crafts gallery the family has collected over the years of items from Poland etc. (I think items are for sale)
You don't need to dress up fancy; just nice. It's on the way (Hwy 36) to Estes Park. Nice atmosphere and a nice Polish owner who is open to conversation.
