Not just a spice store so much more! From the moment one walks into Savory Spice you feel welcomed with hospitality. Spices and smells are what encourages someone to really take a look at everything, from spices, to books, gifts. Staff

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Excellent selection, high quality goods, extremely helpful staff. Prices are way better than you'd expect, considering everything else I've already stated. If you cook AT ALL, I guarantee a stop here will only

This is Savory's original location, small, a little cramped when more than a couple of people are shopping. It's the home of FRESH herbs and spices and the only place to find the really exotic stuff you cannot get in most groceries. For example, they have seven varieties of ground cinnamon! You'll notice the difference in your cooking when you use these ingredients.

Savory is by far the best spice shop I've ever seen. The selection is beyond extensive, and the employees are helpful. Each spice can be purchased in any amount, from 1/2 ounce to several ounces. Spices seem to be fresh - I often see them bringing in new bags. I highly suggest this place.

They (who are they?) say that a cook is only as good as the ingredients she uses. I agree. And I just can't find anything exotic in aisle 347 of the mega mart, so instead I buy my spices and herbs and spiced wine mix here. Walking into Savory is like an exotic massage for my olfactory senses. I never knew until my first visit here that regular cinnamon isn't cinnamon at all, but a cheaper rendition of one fabulous tree bark! I also discovered peppermint extract, which makes mojitos SO much easier than ripping apart expensive mint leaves! Easier to drink too, and doesn't leave mint leaves dangling from your teeth. Go - discover - smell. Oh, did I mention they're cheaper too? Yup. You can buy the stuff in baggies and refill containers.

Pros: Great quality, service and value

Cons: No location in the west suburbs
