Let me start by laying some of the blame on Tricare. Tricare sent us to this doctor listing him as a Urogynocologist, HE IS NOT!!! He is only a ob/gyn. When we asked Tricare about this, they said they only go by what the doctor tells them his credentials are(That's a safe policy!!). My wife's surgery on a Thursday at first seemed to be a rousing success other than a swollen firm stomach which we tried unsuccessfully to bring to his attention (He did not even order an ultrasound! This was not normal for her and we suspected a hematoma). She went home only taking Motrin. On Tuesday everything changed, stitches and other material came out at about 9:00pm, same thing at about 10:00 on Wed. After 3 emergency Rm visits for pain, fever, and continuous bleeding, his contribution was a vaginal exam(which of course showed completely normal) Leviquin, Motrin and lots of "The bleeding is normal" . We finally got him to do an ultrasound on Thursday which of course revealed a hemotoma the size of an orange. He tried to tell us the bleeding (bright red blood) was coming from the hemotoma. How does fresh blood come from an old hematoma?? He also said the blood was coming from the top of the vaginal cuff, which means the stitching he had put in tore open but he did not acknowledge that is where all the stitch pieces had come from on Tuesday. We finally went to Evans Army hospital were they put her on IV antibiotics for 3 days for the hematoma turning into an abccess. That still did not solve the problem, as a few days later we went to the ER at Univ of Denver for more IV antibiotics and a drain for the abccessing hematoma.

Pros: Seems friendly

Cons: Ignores what you have to say

I love Dr Rygiel!! He is very knowledgeable and I trust him to give me worthy advice. After taking his advice to be induced with my last delivery and my placenta rupturing right before my baby came out, I will always listen to him! I love his ready smile and always feel comfortable with him. My husband likes and trusts him too. After being a patient in a large practice, I really enjoy this smaller one. Personal care, hardly any wait time, and staff who recognizes me and whom I recognize every time I'm in. I am loyal forever!

Cons: longer drive for me

I am not usually able to go to OB appointments with my wife. I fully trust Dr Rygiel and his office to take good care of her, especially when she has to tote our three kids along. They are very understanding and try to help her when they can. My wife rarely waits and is usually in and out in 30 minutes or less for her checkups. I appreciate how they work with us financially and stay on top of things with our insurance. I trust Dr Rygiel's knowledge and advice. My wife and I agreed to be induced with our last child. Her placenta ruptured during labor. If we had not listened to him, we might not have our son today. I thank God we found this Doctor!

Everything seemed ok at first.. then we had the rudest dr. ever.. Chritianson. I took off work to be at the sonogram with my wife.. as she asked to make sure it was happenning before I did take off. We showed up and they said.. umm what sonogram?! Christianson had my wife in tears refusing to give her the sonogram. After a little bit of a heated situation, finally they agreed. The rest of the staff seemed pretty nice at that time.. and they even mailed us a certificate for a free sonagram as an apology. This seemed great! I thought well... a little hiccup, but hey maybe it was just a bad day. We were told we could use it for any of our sonograms anytime.

While some of this was going on.. I was sitting in the lobby listening to the people at the counter bash some of the patients that were calling in. It sort of rubbed me the wrong way, but I figured ahh whatever high schoolish stuff.. maybe the lady who looks 30 is really 17!! lol

Anyways.. all of this is mostly minor.. alhtough my wife was pretty upset about the whole sonogram issue. Now comes the kicker.

So shes goes in for her next appt. The office manager tells her she has to settle this bill before she can see the doctor. Sounds semi reasonable.. but the manager was very pushy.. almost insistent my wife not use the voucher. My wife wanted to use the free sonogram voucher, but she kept insisting that she use it later. After the fact we know why. After my wife comes home, she decides to call up and use the voucher on the bill. Well they have already charged her card, and she did give it to them as she didnt want to argue and was excited to see the doctor. I mean everyone wants to make sure there baby is ok.. :) So they will not reverse the charge. They made up a lie about a fee the insurance charges. We called the insurance company and they said there is no fee.. just takes a minute for them to fax over a change and another minute for them to reverse the charge. We called back up, a few times.. and every time the people on the phone were basically saying "tough luck". One even admitted they would only let us use the voucher if we started a payment plan(in other words they want money to use a free voucher)!! They have hung up on us, lied saying they are in meeting... they have even told us now the office manager doesnt work there anymore!! The last one was.. if you keep calling we will remove you as a patient!! I figured they would have already realized by now we arent coming back..lol

I would be afraid to use this company, not only because of the lying and unprofessionalism.. but anyone who manages a business like this wont be around long. Theres alot more but the story was already long enough. If you use these people good luck!!!

Dr Christenson has been my doctor for 3+ years and she has been extremely informative, caring, and has ensured safe delivery of a healthy baby. She made sure my lifestyle (eating and exercise) were healthy for both baby and myself. These were concerns as I was at risk for several conditions. She does not always cherry coat it, but who wants any miscommunication or cherry coating when you are talking about your health and your child's. I appreciated her direct honesty as it kept us both safe and I understood the importance of following the instructions.
Also during a 36 hour labor I would ask for no other person to be near us, she also helped managed the hospital who seemed to want a C-section which I wanted to avoid. I now have a beautiful 2 year old and am now pregnant with a second child. I would have no other Dr. guide me through this miracle.
