Laureate has managed six properties for me very well since 2004, in central Denver, Broomfield, and Thornton. They are fair, they communicate well, have good customer service, and don't charge as much as others. They are responsive

Imagine my suprise when after renting a home for over a year, I find in my mail a notice of forclosure. The home is Property managed by Laureate, LTD and I have paid my rent on time. Now the house is being forclosed on and these folks don't even have the common courtesy to inform the tennant that the house is being auctioned off. Thats so very nice...And of course you can't get ahold of anyone to find out anything. Messages left unreturned....GREAT! I'm very dissapointed !!!!!

Imagine my suprise when after renting a home for over a year, I find in my mail a notice of forclosure. The home is Property managed by Laureate, LTD and I have paid my rent on time. Now the house is being forclosed on and these folks don't even have the common courtesy to inform the tennant that the house is being auctioned off. Thats so very nice...And of course you can't get ahold of anyone to find out anything. Messages left unreturned....GREAT! I'm very dissapointed !!!!!

I really enjoy renting from laureate! The owner of my property takes care of things in a very timely manor! And have encountered nothing but friendly service. I have rent for over a year and will continue to until I am ready to buy! What I like so much about renting from Laureate is that they are down to earth! If you keep you word then so do they! I have been there when they are dealing with unruly renters, that think they can blame all their own hardships on the office! The staff takes these beatings very well! But every human has a breaking point! Sometimes tenants call them and have issues with their fiance and because they are not getting what they want!! Some tenants try to strong arm them and yell and be extremely rude to the staff especially when they do not get what they want! I am just glad because I handle my business!! I pay my rent and Laureate is there for me when I need them!!

I have been in the multi family housing industry for 12 years, and have NEVER experienced customer service like the office staff at Laureate. First, the owner of my house is a friend of mine, they were hired simply to make it easier for him. With this being said, there have been SEVERAL times where they have told me something (such as they tried to raise my rent) without even checking with him first. I have been hung up on, spoken to like a child, and treated horribly.

In my experience working with owners of apartment communities, they understand that their money comes from their residents when they pay rent. It is 10x more costly to re-rent a unit after a year or less then to just retain the resident for a renewal. These people do not understand this concept. If it weren't for the fact that I know the owner, I would move immediately.

No matter how nice the property, location, or owner, I warn you, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

The owners of the house we lived in decided to have a samp cooler installed while we were living there, just a month before our lease ended and we moved out. (A 1927 house with plaster walls and ceilings and no duct work.)

* They had two people come over to give quotes on the project, one of whom made a huge mess after poking around the entrance to our attic and our attic fan.
* They showed up without warning the day before they wanted to install it. (After my complaint about this I was told by management that they were under no requirement to give us 24 hours notice before coming over and it was simply a courtesy.)
* They changed the scheduling of the project repeatedly without notifying us.
* We were left with a huge mess to clean up -- plaster dust covered basically everything in our house.

I expressed all these concerns to the company and was completely blown off.

In addition to that incident we were forced to leave the house about 15+ times so they could show it before we vacated. (I work from home, this was NOT convenient.) When new tenants moved in they did not switch the water over to their names and it took repeated calls to Laureate to get them to deal with it. (And yes, they did try telling me it was my problem.)

I will never rent from them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.
