What better way to show Colorado to your east-coast guests? The food is always good, but the setting -- looking down on Denver at night -- always gets them.

I went to The Fort when I was visiting from out of town. The outside was impressive, and the story behind the building and the site are very interesting. They have an extensive menu that includes a number of game dishes which most restaurants don't offer. And if you're looking for a good drink they have plenty. They even make a drink with gun powder in it, it has a very strong kick to it so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can't handle strong alcohol. The view is absolutely beautiful. Call ahead for reservations at one of their tables in the front. Their prices are steep, but that's to be expected from a nice place like this, they've even had world leaders come up there to eat. When dinners over there's a nice fire pit outside or you can take a walk down below to see the memorial garden that was planted for the original owner. I loved this place!

The Fort is a unique restaurant for a special occasion or to treat out- o-f state friends or relatives The menu is so unusual that there is something for everyone. Everything is delicious and the desserts don't disappoint. Expect to pay for a fine dining experience, though.

This is the place to bring your out of town visitors when looking for a unique Colorado experience! Their cuisine is excellent; the only complaint I have is that their dinnerware is blah -- they could find some other plates that have a more Western theme. The buffalo is to die for, my husband loves it with Green Chile sauce. The house salad with hints of ginger is scrumptiuos! The dessert menu is to die for! Yum!
