Dishler Laser Institute is the best place in CO to get LASIK! They have one set price, not matter how bad your eyes are, and they offer financing plans. The staff was my favorite part of the experience, they were just as excited as I was when I came back for my follow up and could see 20/15. LASIK changed my life and Dr Dishler and his staff made it happen.

I just had PRK surgery by Dr. Dishler in January. My experience with the Dishler Laser Institute and all of the great people there has been incredible and so enjoyable!!! Everyone there is so pleasant and eases any concerns I have had....I look forward to going in for my follow-up appointments. The results of my vision are AMAZING and are even more life-changing than I could have ever hoped for!!! I can see details that I never noticed before (like reading small print easily)! I would HIGHLY recommend that you choose Dr. Dishler to change your life..... My dad has an appointment there tomorrow because he is so jealous of hearing me rave about my perfect vision all the time!!! :>)

Worst decision of my life. Dishler doesn't care if you're a good candidate for LASIK or not. He's a salesman as much as he's a surgeon. BUYER BEWARE.

I had my LASIK done about 8 years ago with Dr. Jon Dishler and couldn't be happier! I have since sent many friends and my sister there to have surgery. I would only send family and friends somewhere that I truly trusted. My life is so fabulous without contacts and glasses! Thank you Dr. Dishler and staff!!!!!

I was looking at some old photos of myself before LASIK (big thick glasses) and it triggered my memory that I take the wonderful eye sight I have now for granted. My LASIK experience was great at Dishler Laser Institute. Everyone is so friendly, professional, informative, nice atmosphere, and the latest technology.

As a local optometrist who has had LASIK at Dr. Dishler's office 4 years ago with outstanding results still today, I feel compelled to dispel any rumors that the previous poster may have spread here and on other websites. It should also be noted that this poster has made attempts to post this very same information to different websites under different names. I would hate to see a cowardly act such as this destroy the reputation of such a trustworthy and highly revered colleague as Jon Dishler. I will attempt to address all points in this post in sequential order as follows:

1. ""I've had 5 specialists tell me I was a terrible candidate for LASIK...""

As a result of having any refractive procedure such as LASIK or PRK, the cornea is inherently thinner. This is because the surgery works by removing a small amount of corneal tissue in order to resurface the eye for better optics and better vision without glasses. Without seeing this patient's actual PRE-surgical records, there is no way to tell what the thickness of the cornea was BEFORE surgery. On the same token, no estimate can be made of what this patient's actual corneal topography (shape of the eye) looked like before surgery either. Thus, there is no way for a so-called specialist to be able to tell if this patient was a candidate for LASIK surgery or not.

2. ""Because of his greed...""

In terms of a refractive surgery office, Dishler Laser is one of the least ""greedy"" around. They WILL tell you if you are not a candidate for surgery. This trust is the reason I feel comfortable referring my patients to their office. It is also the reason that they have a very high success rate with patients. With any type of surgeon, the key is not always their technique, but the fact that they know when and when not to operate on a patient. Dishler Laser has the best technology that a refractive surgery office could possibly have, and yet they readily make this available to all of their patients for the exact same price. There are no ""upgrades"" or ""add-ons"" that are seen at other offices. The most honest opinion and the most current technology is what you should expect from a LASIK surgeon, and this is exactly what you will get from Dr. Dishler and his staff.

3. ""I had to have emergency surgery for a detached retina...""

Peer-reviewed clinical studies have proven over and over that LASIK does not cause retinal detachments. The fact is that the previous poster was most likely nearsighted before the LASIK procedure. A nearsighted eye inherently is a ""longer"" eyeball in shape. These types of eyes are more prone to a retinal detachment regardless of having LASIK surgery. In fact, almost 67% of retinal detachments have some association with myopia (nearsightedness). All of my patients that are highly nearsighted have a dilated examination every year because of this risk. The risk of retinal detachment due to nearsightedness is neither eliminated nor can it be enhanced by LASIK surgery.

4. ""Pain, extreme sensitivity to light...""

This really could have been temporary dry eye, or even a small scratch on the cornea. Many patients are very sensitive to even the smallest amount of dryness. I should re-iterate the word ""temporary"" though as these conditions usually resolve in a matter of days. It should be noted that glare around lights at night is a possible complication of refractive procedures although it is much less than before. The wavefront optimized instrumentation at Dishler LASIK is designed to drastically reduce this risk. All patients are counseled about this before surgery, and pupil size is measured before surgery to determine this risk.

I sincerely hope that any rumors that have been spread online by this post have been debunked in your minds by now. I would encourage any of you who are interested in LASIK surgery to have a consultation at Dr. Dishler's office.

I went to another LASIK center to get a consultation and they told me I was a LASIK candidate and they wanted to schedule me that same week. My vision is bad so i went for a second opinion at Dr. Dishler's. I am so glad i did. The doctors there told me i had an eye condition called kerataconus. I was not a LASIK candidate and that they would not recommend it. I did some research on the internet and Dr. Dishler is right. Thank goodness Dishler Laser told me the truth. I really value their honesty and professional opinion. They care about your safety and not just after your money!! I am so glad I went to Dishler Laser for my consultation it saved my vision!
