First let me say- Action Family Martial Arts is probably the best ATA school in Colorado. Now let me say- we don't even go to this ATA school. I have seen the Pedersons many times and they are some of the best instructors I have ever met. They are enthusiastic and passionate about what they teach. I have only ever seen them being positive and encouraging to their students. I also see them treat others this way. They always have such kind words for my son and myself. I can see the same attitude being passed on to their students. When my son is around them he doesn??t feel like he doesn??t belong because he goes to a different school, they treat him with the same respect as they do each other and I really appreciate this. I think that teaching life skills like these are one of the hard parts of teaching martial arts. The Pedersons must really know what they are doing if they can teach these qualitys and the students learn them. Of course the students always look good with their taekwondo moves, but I think the other is more important. Golden, Colorado is lucky to have such a great school. Action Family: Thank you for the kindness you have shown us and letting us be part of your wonderful school at times!!!!

I couldn't believe it when I saw the other review. My kids have been in Action Family for a while now and I can't say I have ever seen anything like what the other reviewer posted.

The instructors at Action Family ATA are great. They care about each and every student and are very passionate about what they teach. They are always positive with the students and encourage them to be their best. My kids have a great time in class and are always looking forward to the next one. There is a measure of discipline, but that is one of the reason we signed the kids up for martial arts. I have seen my children change for the better.

The school is very clean, open and inviting. Parents are welcome to stay and watch class. There is a great seating area for this. Action Family also offers great camps in the summer and parent??s night out throughout the year. My kids always have a fun time at these and I get a night off!

Martial arts are a great thing to get involved in because of all the extra life skill training that come along with the physical training. I would tell anyone looking in to martial arts to check out Action Family ATA. Don??t let one bad review be you judge- go see for yourself.

DO NOT RECOMMEND - Owner/Instructors act Burnt Out and in my opinion don't protect the safety of the kids. My children attended for 2 years, but we left in disgust after the instructors allowed another child to stike my child reapeatedly without intervening (this wan't during a drill it was after it was over). They stated that it was part of the "Camaraderie". No, it was just assault.

When it first opened, the place was great and the instructors kind and helpful. But now, after two years, with full classes of kids, our experience has been that they are burnt out, ego maniacs who put their own pompous self importance ahead of the kids safety. They spend too much time stroking each others ego, play favorites with a few kids, yet can be mean to other kids who need confidence building.

The ATA program in general is also very expensive, they ratchet up the cost the longer you stay in (onec you are invested in belt levels), and nickle and dime you to death.

We are going to try Master Kim at Golden Tae Kwon Do - We hear he is great. I just wish we would have gone to him first, my kids (black and red belts) will have to start over as White Belts, but even they we sick of it and wanted to leave!!!!
