I have never had a more uncomfortable restaurant experience. The owner managed to yell and curse at one of the servers the entire time I was there, out in the dining area where I'm sure the entire restaurant could hear. Besides the fact that the owner was screaming at the server to "shut up" and "f*ck you", the food was horrible. Definitely not French at all. We ordered the grand marnier cake for dessert which tasted more like the orange filling of a cadberry cream egg. I would never recommend going there. I agree with the person who would recommend Le Central if you're looking for authentic French cuisine and a pleasant dining experience.

I'm surprised at some of the negative comments about Barry and Cafe De France. My family and I have been very regular customers of Barry's since he first opened his place 10 years ago (HIghlands Ranch location). He treats his customers like family and regularly joins his best customers at their tables and serves complimentary wine or mimosas. He is friendly and his tendencies to this may be off-putting to some. I would whole-heartedly endorse Barry and Cafe De France for great food, service, atmosphere and prices

I know when you read this you will think, i would have beaten him senseless... My wife and I decided to try Cafe De France for Lunch on Saturday. The owner seated us but made my wife uncomfortable with his leering. He then decided we wanted company and sat at the table next to us drinking wine greedily and proceeded to ask my wife a few too personal questions. After a couple minutes and a glance from her I asked him to please leave us alone to enjoy our meal. His waiter brough out out food and he inquired not once but twice if my wife's food was good. She said no and the atmosphere is uncomfortable with you leering at me. We stood to leave and he then told her she was a fat whore anyway. He was drunk, it was obvious. We left and she thanked me for keeping my cool.ps, the food was awful and expensive, we did not leave a tip and OBVIOUSLY will never return.

I have never been treated so poorly. I asked my server if my burger that was ordered medium was safe to eat. It was raw and cold in the middle. The owner, his name was Barry, overheard and responded by saying I didn??t know what I was talking about. He was malicious and I think DRUNK. DRUNK at 1 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. He proceeded to shove my plate on the floor and call me a fat cow and demand I leave. I never write reviews but I believe no one should ever go in caf De France!

Love this place... the food is so good... like real home cooking. The salads are wonderful as are the croissant burgers. Owner, Barry, makes each guest feel very welcome.

Cafe De France serves up great food in a casual setting. I hear it's busy on the weekends, but whenever we've gone with family and friends we've managed to get a seat fairly quick. The staff is friendly and on top of our needs. Definitely recommend this place - it's yummy!

The review that was done was for another location that no longer exist. Try the Cafe in Aspen Grove. You will love the food and the ambience.

We've been fans of Cafe de France since before they moved into Aspen Grove. The owner greets every guest warmly and good breakfast is assured. Our family favorite is the croissant French toast - a winner every time! Other dishes are equally good, as is the service.

none of us could eat the food, it was all bad. When I tried to tell the manager, he threw the check at me and would not ask how things were. Everyone around us said how bad their meal was.

Pros: none

Cons: terrible food and service

Decent food at a good price. But the name is rather deceptive. I'd say there are just as many Italian and American dishes as there are French ones. It's really just your basic sit-down American restaurant, similar to Village Inn only not such a big chain. The interior is clean. Very clean. Reminds me of a modern hospital cafeteria. Lots of old ladies eating Cobb salads. If you're looking for good French food in Denver, unfortunately, the choices are few, but I'd go with Le Central.

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Not a French restaurant. More like a hospital cafeteria. Try the mashed potatoes.

In the far NE corner of the Aspen Grove Shopping Center is a great place for lunch or dinner. Cafe de France has wonderful sandwiches and salads as well as some great entrees. I love their spinach salad and croissant sandwiches! Nice atmosphere, too! Good for families or enjoy an evening out with your spouse.
