Finally I feel pleasantly involved in a metropolitan ambiance. Surrounded with aromas not familiar to me. As I gaze down the menu to find out that they offer kobe beef and several other items that made my mouth thirst unwillingly waiting patiently for my food. As I am greeted by several employees with nice uniforms and smiles. At last a restaurant that can truly be called in my regard a five start point establishment. Considering the resources and demographic surrounding this area. I can only say I feel close to my Venice beach home. I absolutely love this place and have made it a point of interest to try everything on there menu! Delicous! Fresh! Cold.....hmmm or hot? Try it!

Pros: Freshly Prepared. Live seafood and more.....

Cons: There is a wait........but worth it.

.

THE GOOD:

1. the food gets high marks. we had the chicken teriyaki, the salmon teriyaki and the deep-fried tofu with noodles. no question about it--the chef here knows something about japanese cuisine. generous servings.

2. our server gave some helpful driving directions to colorado springs.

THE BAD:

1. upon entering, a large sign says "please wait to be seated". so we waited almost two minutes while the receptionist was on the phone only to be told..."just sit anywhere you want". suggestion: get rid of that time-wasting sign already.

2. a server comes with the menu, and when we start to order our drinks curtly replies that he is "not on the clock yet". question: why are you in uniform and handing me the menu if you are not on the clock yet?

3. our food arrives but not our tea. the tea never arrives.

4. one of the wait staff seem unwilling to bring a box for the unfinished portions.

THE UGLY:

1. the cashier does not believe me when i inform her that we did not get our tea. she makes a fuss, noisily slamming the cash register and impatiently tearing off the credit card printout after reluctantly taking the tea off our bill.

IN CONCLUSION:
great food but snobby/disinterested wait staff leaves a bad taste. i would not recommend this to a friend unless he/she were dying of hunger.
